The long awaited release of ‘Demolition’ features thirteen new tracks produced and arranged by Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton. The new material is unquestionable the bands strongest in more than a decade and is the perfect platform for vocalist Ripper Owens to illustrate his awesome vocal prowess.
The remarkable story of how Ripper Owens joined the band in 1996 has already entered the annals of rock legend. American Owens was originally the vocalist in an Ohio based Judas Priest tribute band and came to the band’s attention via a video he sent of himself performing covers of classic Priest material. He was invited to England to audition and the band, who had been looking for a new vocalist for over four years following the departure of their old singer, gave him the job after hearing him perform just one song.
Formed in 1974, Judas Priest quickly became established as one of the world’s definitive metal bands, selling in excess of 40 million albums worldwide in the process. Hit albums include ‘Sin After Sin’, ‘Killing Machine’, ‘British Steel’, ‘Screaming For Vengeance’, ‘Defenders of the Faith’, ‘Ram It Down’ and ‘Painkiller’. In the UK the band has also released thirteen hit singles, including ‘Take On The World’, ‘Living After Midnight’ and ‘Breaking The Law’.
