In geographical terms, a "knob" is defined as a prominant mountain or hill.
In my use, look in the mirror, ya knob! Word defined! BWWAHAAAAAA!
-----------------
It was originally known as the Pine Knob Music Theatre, due to its proximity to the nearby Pine Knob ski area and golf course. The name was changed in 2002 when DTE Energy (the parent company of Detroit Edison) purchased the naming rights to the amphitheater in a ten-year, $10 million deal. Despite this change, many people still continue to call the venue "Pine Knob", "The Knob", or "The Hill".
Annually, the music theater has consistently ranked among the top-selling outdoor concert venues in the nation. Canadian Power-Trio Rush have regarded the ampitheater as one of their favorite venues to play in the U.S.A.

The Princess and I saw the Retribution tour in southern Cal. Queensryche were GREAT! Love Tate! When we saw the BS tour here in Vegas, Coverdale came out and did an admirable job but was clearly not on his game. He kept going behind a screen and drinking something (we were 9th row and I could see him clearly). In Detroit a month earlier, he was great. I think he canceled not long after the Vegas gig due to those throat issues you mentioned. Shame because I still like Whitesnake and Coverdale is a legend. Great crowd, size and response. Had first timers next to me that were loving it. That made me feel good. Coverdale
was having some serious throat issues. He didn't sound good at all. I saw Whitesnake 4 or 5 times back in the day.
the first time in 81' with the Priest. I loved them back then. | | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | I'll say this; it was the BEST crowd that I saw all year!! The fans in Detroit came out in FULL force and they really supported Priest! It was a GREAT show and a GREAT crowd...*apart from the moron that we saw punching an old man because he was there with a younger lady!* Fortunately, THAT loser was escorted out by security! (Hope there was no "police brutality" involved afterwards..wink wink)
Honestly though, it was an incredible show. Whitesnake was GREAT, too. Seriously. I was impressed with Coverdale after all these years. He sure looked good. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was lucky to even find it. After driving around for an hour me and the wife stopped at a store.
We saw these two girls who looked like they may be cool so we asked them if they knew where the
place was. They asked us who we were going to see so we told them. It turns out they were Priest fans
and literally forgot they were playing. Thanked us and lead us to the venue. We saw them in the lot and
talked a little. It was a cool experience.

When I went to Detroit it was the Retribution tour. Queensryche opened up. I saw the British Steel tour in Cleveland.
