Well, I'm choosing this thread as it gives me the freedom to post whatever I choose...
First off, this business of multiple accounts. Though I know very little of the ways of cyber-space, I do believe I'm intelligent enough to learn what I need to know to play the games that a number of members on this site play...it's NOT rocket science. It's just that my mind does not lean torwards cowardice, so I choose to be true to myself regardless of the mistakes I make and face the music, so to speak. To hide behind alter-egos speaks volumes of the individual.
I know a number of folks here who do such things, some because they think they're funny, other's to start trouble, and then there are those that just plainly have nothing better to do in real life...whatever. It truly is easy to recognize some of them by way of the same spelling errors, sentence formations, use of characters, the knowledge to post videos and what not, as others have pointed out.
I guess I just don't see the point. Who are "they" trying to impress? Why do "they" feel the need to hide? Why are "they" so starved for attention? Do "they" have the same disfunction in real life? And why on a site that is truly beloved by it's true fans?
Next, I have to respond to the often posted response I read all too often about "true fans". I will go on record to say that those that use these multiple accounts for any reason other than to pay respect and enjoy Judas Priest are NOT "true fans". "They" can say what they want, disagree with me and bash me, but NO, you are NOT true fans and will NEVER have my respect or friendship. I know, you don't want it anyway for you are here for reasons other than to enjoy this wonderful place that Judas Priest has given us fans to communicate with one another. Shame on you!!
Do you folks realize that Rob, KK, Glenn, Ian and Scott all check this place out?? And let's not forget their management team, families, roadies and all the other great folks who help bring Judas Priest music to us.
The reality is that those of you who do such things are a discredit to us "true fans" and I have to believe that there are times that the Band has to wonder if this site is truly worth keeping. I, for one, hope like hell that they never close this place, but you never know...!! How would you all feel if they decided to do such a thing?? Are you that self serving? Bitter? Deprived? To what extreme are you posers willing to go? Why do you feel the need to draw attention away from the band, to put all the focus on yourselves?
Some of you personally know a member or members of the band. Do you think they want to be associated with the scheming likes of you?? How embarassed must they be?!
Which brings me to another thing I'd like to get off my chest. This is to those of you who have friendships with members of the band AND use that friendhip as a tool for self-importance. If I was a personal friend of a member of Priest, no one here would know about it!! Personally, I don't care or want to know if your a friend of the band. I would appreciate and cherish and respect such a friendship, NOT flaunt it for a following or to make myself feel like a big fish in a little pond here at the board!! How dare you abuse such an honor!!! Those of you who do such things, and you know who you are, you make me sick!! |
