Sorry to hear that, but I agree with them and think that there may have been other factors not related to you. There is no way of knowing but don't feel it was your fault (unless you really know you messed up on purpose, which wouldn't be making you feel so bad if that was the case)...anyway, remember that there are always many opportunities to come and probably this was not the one for you  heavy metal works in misterious ways, they say

Thanks, HB! This last interview was a big loss, but you're right. There is always next time.

you might have been very good for the job. someone else might have been great. maybe the interview was a factor, maybe someone else applied who did it before. keep you chin up, practice interviews. If you can get someone to do mock interviews do that if not practice them in front of a mirror. record yourself. there is always next time. good luck

So whatchu're saying is...they went through the trouble of dangling this non-existent position in front of me, decided that it would be fun to fuck with me. Huh.

*slides empty glass in front of Guido*

Pour me several, please.

Me da pena escuchar las noticias. 9 times out of 10, though? It was an inside "done deal" from the beginning. It had nothing to do with you at all. The candidate was already chosen before the interviews started. A person, a "type." Unless you were privvy to the discussion? You may never know but it was likely NOT you at all.

No matter, misery loves company [guido sidles up to the bar] "Can I pour you one?"

*looking through an empty glass that once held rum and coke*

So...say that you are told about getting a higher position at the company you work for. You are put in touch with the manager, and go through a phone interview with them. You go through the specifics of said job, answer a few questions, and at the end of the interview, feel that you would be more than capable of completing the tasks requested by this position, provided some training was done. During the waiting process, your co-workers tell you things along the lines of, "Oh, you've got this one in the bag." "You'll definitely get that job." "An email from HR? Hope it's a 'Congrats!'". NOW? It turns out you didn't get the job after all. Hell, you didn't even get to the in-person interview.

This position was offered to you on a fucking SILVER PLATTER! How much did you actually have to FUCK UP for it to just slip away like that??

......and that was the question to myself early this morning upon seeing that rejection email. I failed not only myself, but my co-workers. Heh. Well, guess all those trolls were right. I am just one special type of LOSER.

*slams head against the bar*

A light day? Not bad! Remind me to work for a US-based company if President Trump somehow deports my ass to Costa Rica.

Good luck with getting back into grad school!

Considering lunch hour and some breaks it's actually working 10 hours, let's say. As for grad school I started a couple of years ago but this year I was out of money so I couldn't continue...hopefully next year I can resume. And yes, labor day was yesterday...some of my friends had a light day because they work for american companies here in Costa Rica too.

Working 13 hours a day?!? Damn!!! YOU deserve a Labor Day (day off for some here in the US) more than me!

As for Harvey? Yeah, devastation like that will take a while to recover from. Oh, well. Can't exactly sit and do nothing either, right?

So you're planning to go grad-school? Nice! Good luck with that!

Not bad actually. A lot of rain though, but I think that it still doesn't compare to what you've had over there. And things are quite fine here, working from 8am to 9pm, which is killing me but I'm still doing fine. Trying to save some money to go back to grad-school next year

Barkeep! Some chocolate milk, please?

So tell me, Paorcito. How've you been? How's things in Costa Rica?
