British Steel, Stained Class, Sad Wings of Destiny, Painkiller... Judas Priest’s albums have made them metal royalty - now join them for a night of leather and loud music.
Hailing from Birmingham AKA the "birthplace of Heavy Metal", Judas Priest were part of the second wave of metal in the 70s. Taking cues from bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Judas Priest were responsible for discarding the blues influence of the heavy metal at the time and shaping the sound for years to come (not to mention writing one of the most recognisable riffs of the entire genre).
After a long and illustrious career that has outlasted most of the bands they influenced, Judas Priest have received every accolade under the sun, including Platinum selling albums, VH1 Rock Honors and a Grammy. With no signs of slowing down, come and witness the brute power that made metal what it is today.
Judas Priest keep it a strictly heavy affair, choosing monster tracks from AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Metallica, they also throw in some bands that influenced them, like The Who, Joe Cocker and Cream.
Watch Judas Priest guest program Rage on Saturday 11th April from 10:30-11:30am, returning for the night from 12:17pm on ABC.
