Judas Priest's 17th studio effort overall, 'Redeemer of Souls,' is set to debut in the Billboard 200 charts at #6, which is the highest US album chart debut of the legendary British band's career. Also, with a #5 chart debut in Canada, it is the highest chart-peaking album and first top five debut in the Canada Soundscan era.
And the album reviews have been some of the best of Priest's entire career as well, including Rolling Stone declaring "'Redeemer' is proof that Priest can still call themselves metal's defenders of the faith," while All Music Guide stated "'Redeemer of Souls' is also the loosest (attitude-wise), leanest (arrangementwise), and most confident-sounding collection of new material the band has released in ages."
It was also recently announced that Priest (singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill, and drummer Scott Travis) will be hitting the road this fall, along with special guests Steel Panther.
