PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM GLENN:

By now many of you will know I won't be doing the forthcoming Judas Priest tour because of health issues---I’m so sorry but four years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson's and was told by my specialist that I had already had it for over ten years - I knew something was wrong with my co-ordination and fluency regarding my playing but I worked around it and battled on - I have good days and bad days but the disease is degenerative and I would never want to compromise the greatest metal band in the world---it was therefore during the last rehearsals I decided to step down and have Andy Sneap fill in---he's a great guy and I'm sure he'll do a great job - I'm sure the band will be as strong than ever

I have been overwhelmed by the massive support and love I’ve had from other artists and from fans all over the world and from many friends and metal maniacs out there - it's not the end for me - I’ll still be able to write and record and on good days even join the band on stage for a few songs - with new medication and advances being made who knows what the future holds - but one thing's for sure - it will certainly involve Priest!

Finally the biggest thanks goes to Rob, Richie, Ian and Scott who have stood by me and supported me through everything - GLENN

Ten years ago Glenn was diagnosed to have the onset of the early stages of Parkinson’s - from then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important.

Right now Glenn is able to play and perform some of the Priest songs that are less challenging but due to the nature of Parkinson's progression he wants to let you all know that he won't be touring as such -

True to the metal spirit of 'the show must go on' Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him

“I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band - it’s simply that my role has changed. I don’t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not too distant future I’m really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again”

"Tom Allom has got this classic metal thing," explains Halford. "And Andy is a bit more of a 'modern metal producer' but his thinking is a little bit different to Tom's. British metal legends Judas Priest announce the reissue of their 10th studio album, Turbo. The album has been remastered and will be released via Sony Music on 3rd February 2017 on 3CD (the original album and 2 bonus discs) as well as 1LP 180g vinyl.

Originally released in 1986, Turbo features all the hallmarks of classic Priest on tracks such as "Turbo Lover", "Parental Guidance" and "Locked In". Included on disc 2 and 3 of the CD reissue is Live in Kansas City, a live recording from the band’s 1986 Fuel For Life tour in support of Turbo.

The band add "The 80's is considered to have been the best decade for heavy metal - Judas Priest roared through it and at the half way point went into unchartered territory with 'Turbo'. Always believing that metal should have no boundaries, Priest challenged themselves taking on board new technical inventions to create fresh ideas and push their sound forward. The combined songs show another side of Priest's range of creativity that captures a theme and energy infused with the over the top sensibilities of that era. The 'Fuel For Life' tour certainly encapsulated the decadence of the times! 'Turbo' remastered and accompanied by a pedal to the metal live recording from Kansas reveals Priest on high octane - Raising fists and devil horns to the next level."

Well metal maniacs those of you attended the Badlands show saw and felt the full on wrath of nature. Intense lightning storms and gale force winds put all of us at risk. Safety for yourselves and everyone backstage was and always will be the most important factor. I can't tell you how gutted we all felt for all of you who traveled to the venue and it goes without saying that if there was the slightest chance we could have made the show happen we would have.

On Friday we had the very sad and unexpected news that our stage manager - Paul 'Bomber' Jackson - had passed away - this came as a total shock to us all - he was due to leave on tour with us this weekend for Australia and we know he was really looking forward to being part of our exceptional team again - Bomber had worked for us for many years - he not only did a great job and worked very long hours but he was also a friend - he was always bright and chirpy - a very witty and funny man - we all had plenty of fun times with him over the years - at this time none of us can really get our heads round losing him - he will be sorely missed - may you rest in peace Bomber - we miss you.

Metal Gods Judas Priest have kicked off the North American leg of their ‘Epitaph Tour,’ which they claim will most likely be the last large world tour of their over 40-year career.

The band recently released the compilation album, ‘The Chosen Few.’ The collection features Priest classics chosen by members of such bands such as Black Sabbath, Metallica, Lamb of God and Guns N’ Roses, among others, who celebrate the career of the heavy metal veterans.

And the five-piece are causing a frenzy amongst tour-goers wondering if this will indeed be the final Epitaph? And of course with new guitarist Richie Faulkner in the ranks, the Priest are firing with all cylinders again. Guitarist Glenn Tipton - who has duelled on-stage with K.K. Downing for nearly forty years before his exit earlier this year - is in fine spirits and rises over any drama in a calm, cool and most certainly collected manner. The revered guitarist spoke to BraveWords.com on the phone from a warm and sunny Reno, Nevada this week, just prior to yet another farewell (?) show. Okay, I admit it; this is not the first Judas Priest compilation to hit the market. In fact, it isn’t even the most in-depth, as the band have collections that go much deeper than the 17 tracks found here. It is, however, the coolest one they have ever put out, which, in this Metal Head’s opinion, goes a long way to keeping the Metal flame burning brightly, as the Metal Gods hit the road on their Epitaph tour, which is their last full out, world tour, ever.

Farewell Tour clarification from Judas Priest

We would like to clarify a situation that seems to be confusing a few people out there.

When we issued our press release to announce the farewell tour - we stated that it was the last major world tour for Judas Priest - nothing has changed - we didn't say it was the end of the band or that we were going to retire or the band was going to break up........... Just that it would be the last major world tour we would be doing which is still the case.

We have plans for a new album (which we have already announced in an earlier press release) plus possible future releases and we would still consider doing the odd live show - if it is something special or for a great cause - but no more world tours.

Judas Priest are taking a break from touring this year - they need time to recharge their batteries having just recently finished a two year World Tour in Japan at the end of 2009!

They will of course be promoting the release of 'BRITISH STEEL - 30TH ANNIVERSARY' which is due out in May 2010.

Watch out for the PRIEST MACHINE which will be rolling out again touring the world in 2011 & 2012!   The band will be back at a venue near you pounding out their special brand of classic metal as ferociously as ever!

London, 3rd December 2009 – Due to unforeseen circumstances Judas Priest have revised their 2009 tour of the UK as follows. The show at the Nottingham Arena has been cancelled, with existing ticket holders being offered a pair of tickets to either Sheffield Arena 13th February or Birmingham LG Arena, 14th February shows. Furthermore, their Manchester show on 17th February has changed to the Apollo Theatre – Standing tickets are valid for the same date for this new show, seated tickets will need to be exchanged at point of purchase. Metal veterans Megadeth and Testament will support the forthcoming dates.

Who could have predicted a band who’ve been around since the beginning of time (more precisely, since the inception of heavy metal) would produce such an audaciously ambitious project? Judas Priest’s Nostradamus is a 23-track, double-CD concept album. Unlike the central figures in other such releases like Pink Floyd’s The Wall, The Who’s Tommy, or Iron Maiden’s Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (also a seer), Nostradamus actually existed. With orchestral elements, Rob Halford’s piercingly high and alternately resonant low vocals, and one cut mainly sung in Italian, it almost deserves to be called a metal opera.

Well we've finished the first leg of the Priest tour in Europe and had a fantastic reaction from everywhere starting in Helsinki and finishing in Istanbul. We played Countries that we have never been to before such as Romania and Turkey which we found fascinating - there were even fans from Iran at the Istanbul show! It goes to show just how rock and metal is underestimated and so popular all over this world!

Belgrade and Zagreb Shows Cancelled

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel two shows - tonight in Belgrade and tomorrow in Zagreb - this is due to Glenn Tipton being ill - he has been pretty sick for about a week now but has struggled on regardless - he has been in a lot of pain and has been told be a doctor that he is suffering from a very painful appendix inflammation and needs to come back to the UK to see a specialist which he is doing today - he has been instructed by the doctor not to perform for a couple of days - this is the first time in the history of Judas Priest that we have had to cancel any shows and we are very sorry to all those disappointed fans - however Glenn's health must come first!

We have just come back from the states where we had a week of intensive promotion for the new Judas Priest album 'Nostradamus' and Metal Masters US Tour! It all went really well and the reaction to the album has been phenominal!! We did two in-stores (something JP haven't done in over 25 years!) - see a few of the photos below - as you can see some people ask the band to sign the strangest things - one woman even brought her 3 week old twins along and wanted the guys to sign their bibs...!!
