This is a 2010 album but I think it's a classic already. Really different but awesome if you give it a chance. It's called The Guessing Game and it's by Cathedral. Here's one of my faves from it, Death Of An Anarchist.

HAAAA!!! Take a close look at the cup on that table. It is a MSU Rose Bowl glass. It was probably 1989 or so.
One of those guys might look so familiar because he was in a bunch of local bands. The guy with the long hair closest to me taking the shot. Long black hair with the tat and hat. Andy Dryer was his name and his band always used to play at the Art Fest. "Caliope" or something was one of his main bands. He started as a clean-cut kid playing trumpet in the marching band and ended up dropping out becoming an MSU fixture. Worked at Warehouse Records for a while as well. Other guy with the dark hair worked at the Habitrail parking structure by State Discount. All of us were Rather / Brody rats. That's probably my favorite Sepultura's album, at least for me, is it finest moment, my choice of the day are two albums:
A classic Thrash Metal album, a malevolent canadian assault of fast and deathly speed metal:
And a seminal album of the metalpunk genre, an effective blend of aggressive punk and NWOBHM sound:
Well,I don't think this is a classic "heavy metal" album but it sure as hell is a classic death/thrash metal album, thats for sure.
I got this album in 1990 I think, just before Arise was released in 91' or so but hell yeah this is a great album.

I've had this LP for quite a while now since 1998 I think, very old primitive NWOBHM from England, this album gets shit on but I like it and consider it a classic, fast Eddie Clarke of Motorhead produced this one and is forgetton about, even I haven't pulled this one out of the vault in a long time but this album I'm playing today.

I hated Ozzmosis Dime, yeah maybe 2 or 3 tracks off some of his albums here and there but ozzmosis to me was not a great "album". And really, this does have EVERYTHING to do with being stuck in the 80's which is exactly where metal began to grow. Black Rain is downtuned and it sounds nothing like an OZZY album should sound like.Gone are the tinny uptuned guitars that even were present on the 1988 No Rest For The Wicked album. Now with Black Rain the riffs and guitar sound sucks and it doesn't sound like solo OZZY.It sounds like Zack's band with Ozzy on vocals. Thats just my outake on it,not trying to bash you individualy for liking the album, sorry if it bummed you out for doing so lol! No worries.

sad but true, ozzy will never have another guitar player like him, but for all
the replacements he's chosen I'm glad he's stuck with wylde. One of the most

But he's still singing, and damn good for his age. You listen to that whole album

Yeah Ultimate Sin is shit as well. I'm actually not that keen on Bark At The Moon either apart from the title track and Center Of Eternity. The rest of the album is rubbish. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Wednesday, November 11, 2009 5:22:40 PM)

No worries. the greatest metal, hands down, but it was almost 30 years ago. Rhoads is dead, very
sad but true, ozzy will never have another guitar player like him, but for all
the replacements he's chosen I'm glad he's stuck with wylde. One of the most
talented guys to shred the axe. I really like black rain, it's not ozzys best(that'll always be his work with rhoads)but man
the guys a geezer, for Christ sake you can't understand what's he's frickin saying!!
But he's still singing, and damn good for his age. You listen to that whole album
and tell me that not impressive for a guy in his 60's. I hope ozzy puts out another 5 albums
with zak, I'll buy them all. And not having a good album after bark at the moon what
about ozzmosis? Your going to tell me that wasn't a good album? Tomorrow is one of
ozzys greatest songs!

I'd use Black Rain as a drink coaster were it not so slippery on one side. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Wednesday, November 11, 2009 4:40:45 PM)

Since they've been mentioned a fair bit on other threads of late, I'm picking this one
The gem that got me through GCSE art- being the only one in my class without a ipod at that point (they hadn't been around long then) I just had this, DF's Sonic Firestorm and the Kerrang Best of 2005 on a little CD player constantly in the school art room (where I spent most mornings before registration and lunchtimes, trying to catch up on all the coursework I hadn't done in my first GSCE year!) This music saved my sanity!

My classic heavy metal album of the day is Lateralus - Tool ( 2001 ).
Great album but maybe not as good as Anema, still a classic though.
