the pointless criticisms.  Why?   Because he loves THE MUSIC.

The MADE OF METAL is an amazing album!

            Corrections for some opinions;
THE MOWER:This is a power metal song and not heavy metal.
TILL THE DAY I DIE:This is a heavy metal song and not country.(This country definition is poor to joke too)
WE OWN THE NIGHT:This is a heavy metal song and not hard rock.

Anyway i see some guys' main problem ! They want lots of power metal song with HALFORD screams.
Because they cannot accept other things from the JUDAS PRIEST members nowadays.  Or they are not true JUDAS PRIEST fans.
Hard to decide !  (I was very polite again!)

I like some of the tracks on this new Halford  cd but you would think with the title "Made of Metal" it woulld be a lot heavier than this.  I'm still on the fence about buying it though ...lol.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Friday, October 15, 2010 5:36:11 PM
I've got to hand it to you hellrider,I belive the majority of this forum's faith is because of you single handedly!! lol!  Good work my friend, when this next album comes out totally heavy we will all look to you and know you were right all along, that will be a very fun time, from the visual of your posts and from someone who doesn't come here it looks as if you are the one who is impatient but thats anything but the truth, its fans like me who are impatient because I start bashing the freaking band! lol!!

They really need to get back to basics with a full on blistering metal album, its what they are best at and after all....we did get a retro album with Angel Of Retribution even though you don't like it,its still an older style of Priest, and with the Nostradamus album along with Winter Songs they got some mellow stuff off thier chests and Made Of Metal is another way for Rob to express other ideas but it would be killer if they did at least one more album in the vien of Painkiller.

If they don't thats ok too as long as the album is awsome but I really would like to hear what a heavy record would sound like from them man,I can't keep the faith because of my flip flops but with you posting these positive posts all the time is very encouraging hellrider, even if I get sick of hearing about "Painkiller"(lol!) its still the truth, you are correct and it is still very encouraging for unfaithful impatient fans like me,thanks hellrider!!!!

Absolutely hellrider. I'd be happy with an album like Screaming For Vengeance,or Defenders Of The Faith if the whole album was killer, but I also do want another album that is totally heavy.Songs like "Hellrider" and I know its not your favorite but "Demonizer" are 2 tracks that could easily hold up to Painkiller, mix those type of songs with songs like All Guns Blazing and Metal meltdown and Between The Hammaer & The Anvil and we've got one heavy ass record from Judas Priest. That would be very rewarding even though I am skeptical of this band pulling through for us,that would be very awsome I'd have to admit.

[GLORIAROMANA S.-THE QUEEN OF METAL GOD-ROB HALFORD] Thursday, October 14, 2010 12:10:23 PM

FOR YOU J.D...

I understand that you are not a true fan of Rob Halford with his other bands than Judas Priest.
1.You hate the Two project, and here i am agree with you, neither i didn't liked this project, neither one song.
2.But also you dont like Fight project too, well,i love the Fight project and i think that for that times when Rob started that idea was some interesting, was other thing than in Judas Priest, that shows as that Rob was capable to do other kind of music than Judas Priest, and i am sorry that Rob doesn't do nothing new with Fight  but i like aal them albums and most songs..
-From War of Words which is my favorite from Fight  i like these :
For all eternity(my favorite song),Immortal Sin,Nailed to the Gun,Into the Pit,For all Eternity,Life In Black,Contorsion,Vicious,Kill It,War of Words,but all are cool.
-From Mutations i like all songs which i mention up mixed and the industrial variante.
-From Small Deadly Space i like:
In a world of my own making(my favorite)Small Deadly Space,Never Again,Legacy of Hate,Beneath of Violence,Gretna Greene,Mouthpiece,I am Alive,but all are cool.
3.But also i saw you dont like neither Halford project, well,i love Halford project,i think that Rob shows us again and again,he can do another kind of music different of Judas Priest, and i am glad he think to continue this project with Halford, i like all albums, and again most many songs.
-From Resurrection which is my favorite album of Halford i like these:
Silent Scream (my favorite song from Halford band),Resurrection,Fetish,Hell's last Survivor,Temptation,Saviour,Forgetten Generation,Made In Hell,Slow down,Twist,Nighfall,Drive
-From Crucible i like:
Crystal(my favorite song)Crucible,Hearts of Darkness,Heading out Bullet,Wrath of God,Betrayal,One Will,Sun,Golgotha,Trail of Tears.
-From Winter Songs i like:
Winter Song( my favorite song),Get into the Spirit,We three Kings,O come Emanuel,Light of the World,
-From Made of Metal i like:
Till the day i Die(my favorite),25 years,We stand a Chance,Thunder and Lighting,Fire and Ice,Heartless,Mower,Undisputed,Speed of Sound,Made of Metal.
But every if free to like what they like...

So if you like just Crucible, its ok,is true that Crucible is the most  hard and complicated album, from Rob's voice, till to drums, guitars, verses, chorus, all in fact, and not such easy to listen and understand the music, and also interesting lyrics, then Resurrection is just a heavy one,Rob's voice singing in melody, the guitars sing such melodical, the verses and chorus are so simple,so easy to listen and remember, but always beautiful to listen without boring,Winter Song was the most melodical album,Rob's voice cool, guitars and drums the same, easy verses and chorus, but also nice to listen for hollydays, and Rob's idea to do such album impressed me,i never heared a rock band dedicated an entire album for Christmas, and finnaly that last Made Of Metal,is the most various album, contain blues, hard, heavy songs, easy songs but hard too,but is cool to listen, and agin Rob's idea to do a such various album, impressed me again.
Its seems Rob Halford likes the riskue,he left Judas for to do some new,and he done Fight, but he didn"t got lot succes then,si he came back in Judas, but look now witth Fight musiv he has lots of fans all over the world, also then he got Halford, and he got succes then and still have, even if he tryed different style of music,of albums, and songs.
So his fans can be just proud about all waht he done with his voice and music compositions in all these other bands, and in my opinion he arrived to do more than in Judas Priest which got a constantly way.

Greetings

Gloria Romana Suciu

Yeah, I agree. A true fan can also discuss about the band`s work. We all have favourite songs and there are songs we don`t like that much. We love some albums and there are others we cannot get into. Anyway, obviously Gloria got bothered because of the way J.D. referred to the song, saying “and that idea sucks” which is fine, that`s his opinion, but that can sound a bit rude and disrespectful for a die hard fan as Gloria seems to be.

FOR YOU VAILLANT....

Thanks for your comment  to mine related to Till The Day I Die song from Made of Metal album, and thanx for your observation, which is a good one,is true that the entire song can be catalogated as a blues song, cause is true that from the blues born the hard rock, thne from hard rock born the heavy metal and so on,but dont forget that the blues was born from something, from clasic and symphonic music, anyway coming to the song, also the fact of the guitars sounds, can catalogated the song as a country one.
The true is that in our days the music is not the music of old times anymore ,cause in the old times the music genres was just few, such as clasic, blues, hard, some heavy, pop, etc, and also the genres wre very good define then, meaning a clasical song contain just clasic elements,a blues was just blues,a hard just a hard, and heavy just a heavy, etc but with the passing of time, the all music grow and evolve such way cause loook now exist such many genres, appears genres more hard, such as trash, speed, progresive, ghotic, industrial, etc and the genres are not good define, meaning like an example,a simple blues from other times can contain such many elements sounds, like country,or clasic,or others,so for that reason i very hard to define clearly a song.
In my opinion Till The Day I Die is a blues song as rhythm but with country sound.
But Rob Halford know better what was in his mind when he composed the song.

FOR YOU J.D.DIAMOND...

I thanks you for your comment to mine related to Till The Day I Die song from Made Of Metal album, and also for your observation and your agreed with me that the song is a country song, but i didn't understood your angry of why they done a country song.
From three things, one is for sure,or you aren't in a good mood,or you didn't  liked the song,or you are not a true fan.
If you were in a bad mood i understand you,if you didn't liked this song,i understand this too,but to say that song is totally sucks show me that you are not a true fan of Halford.
I think that a TRUE fan of a band, must appreciate all the band carrer, the good albums or songs but even the bad, then the good shows but even the bad ones, because think at this,as far as you have sometimes good times in your life, also you can have bad ones, right?and maybe they got some bad times when they composed that song!or as far as you feel sometime bored about some things in your life, also you want sometime to do some changes in your life, right?so maybe they wanted to do that changes too with this song!
I think that a TRUE fan not  judge so drastic the band just because of this another kind of song, cause .
I think that a TRUE fan not compare a song with other songs of other albums of other bands, etc, cause every song is unique in his own way, even if is a good one or bad one.
But of course all these were your opinion and every of us are free to have our opinions.
But also if you were a true fan you didn't think like this, and you appreciated the song, but it seems you are not.

I apreciate your comment to mine about Matador song of Made of Metal album, and you have right, the song sounds like an arabic, one, not indian,i never said the song is a indian song,i just said this song SOUNDS like a indian song, because if you know little more about indian music history, then you will see that the song also have some indian inflections, that is all,but ofcourse is not a indian song.
Anyway thanks for your comment to mine

Yeah thats a good way to put it. I have to remember that this isn't "Judas Priest"....its simply "Halford" which really shouldn't sound like a Priest record. But the teaser I got from Crucible was very inviting,I think that album is Rob's heaviest album outside of Priest. I do dig the Ressurection song,Made In Hell isn't that bad and I also like The One You Love To Hate...maybe "Savior" also is ok but I can't get into the other tracks at all...."Locked And Loaded"....especially "Twist" and Cyber World...ect...I just can't get into those tracks. The Crucible album I do like almost all of it.

Boy......what a long ass time we are going to have to "wait" for the next Judas Priest freaking album. "SIGH".  Its just a shame that with Rob being back in the band since 2003,they have only released 2 studio albums. "SIGH".

Certainly leaning towards the Country side of the Blues if at all. Sitting here in the land of the Delta Blues, Rob isn't going the route of Robert Johnson & co.

Sounded more Death Valley to me. I was immediately reminded of old Clint Eastwood flicks when I first gave it a listen. "Hondo" / John Wayne perhaps?

I thought that the beginning sounded more Blues than Country. If it were Country, Rob would have added some more Southern "twang" to his singing. And as you know, the Blues genre did influence the creation of Heavy Metal, more or less. 'Til the Day I Die' is most likely Rob's salute to the Blues.

"...of Jazz and electricity, and good ol' Southern Blues..."

Country genre?? Absolutely, and that idea "sucks". Hellrider passes this off as classic heavy metal yet if it were Priest that wrote it he would of killed a few people up in Canada and we would of seen it on the news HA!

While that message was far too long to spend much time reading, one thing did catch my eye: "Matador" does not use "Indian" music as its model. It is clearly al-Andalus / Arabic in nature. Similar, in fact, to the bridge in "Holy Wars - Punishment Due" which is, indeed, about that similar culture.

That little musical reference in "Matador" only caught my eye (ear?) as it is really out of place as the song tells the tale of a bullfighter in MEXICO (said "Matador" crosses the Rio Grande). Spain, sure....a bullfight with Moorish influence would make some sense. Not in México, however. To say that it is Indian is right out. They wouldn't exactly be ones to hold or even attend a bullfight now, would they?

FOR
ROB HALFORD
THE METAL GOD
AND
FOR ALL ROB HALFORD’S FANS…

This is the first time when I ordered some from Amazon, this last album of Halford band, named Made of Metal, which was practically a gift from my friend Gianny Painkiller,to wish I want to thanks him for the gift.I ordered the album on 25 september and they estimated to send me the item between 8 and 18 october, but I was surprised to receive this so early on 6 october,so I want to thanks to Amazon for their promptitude, and finally i listened the album and I realised that Rob does not stop amaze me since his first album untill now,at that Made Of Metal, from which my favorite song is Till The Day I Die,a song totally out of what Rob Halford done in all his songs in Halford,Fight and Judas Priest, and for that thanks you Rob,but also look below over my comments about my top favorite songs from the album.
1.UNTIL THE DAY I DIE.
This song is totally out of what Rob Halford done until now in all his Halford band songs, the song is in the country genre, the song is in minor range, the song respect the classic music scheme from the book of music composition and theory, meaning that the song started with an intro, in that case is an acoustic intro, an intro with a guitar but what guitar…a guitar with a western sound on the background sound of the slowly drums and with Rob ‘s voice wishpering the verse and the chorus until the song comes more and more intensified untill when Rob scream and just then practically started the song with full western guitars and full drums rhythm, and comes the verse 1,so simple but beautiful, then the chorus, so simple but in so touching achords, then verse 2, then chorus again, then middle part with guitars parts, and finally re-coming the intro with the acoustic  estern guitars on the background of the slowly drums and Rob whispering, the verse 1 again, also the lyric song are such spiritual,is speak about how short is life and about the fact that is no time for all in this life, cause one day we will go to other lifes, so we need to live alive every day till the day we die. The song sounds to me in the Fight band style, a other kind of Just A Little Crazy song.
2.25 YEARS.
This song is a hard rock ballad , the song is in minor range again, the song respect the classic music scheme of songs, the song starts with an intro acoustic guitar, then comes the verse 1,so touching ,and then the chorus, so sights, then comes a little part of western guitars, and then the verse 2,then chorus again, then the middle part with a combinations of electric and acoustic guitars singing in duet ,and then  a part from verses and again the chorus, and again the electric guitars solos in duet with Rob’s chorus together, and finally the song finished with Rob’s single voice, the lyric is thouching too, speaks  about the date of 6 january 2011,when practically will be  25 years since Rob Halford became a spiritual man. The song sounds to me in Halford band style ballad,as from Resurrection album.
3.I THINK WE STAND A CHANCE.
This song is a hard rock song, the song is in minor range, the song respect the classic musical scheme of songs, the song starts with a piano intro, then appears the guitars solos, then the verse 1,a melodic one, then the chorus,so cantabile, then verse 2,then chorus again, then the middle part of solo guitars, then verse 3,then chorus again, and the song is finish with Rob’s voice, the lyrics are touching too, they speaks about two persons which could have a chance to be together, and have a last romance, even if they are far one of others. The song sounds to me in the Linkin Park band and Rasmus band style.
4.THUNDER AND LIGHTINGS
This song is a hard rock song, this song is in minor range but with major elements, the song respect the classic music scheme of songs, the song starts directly with the guitars solos, the comes verse 1,so melodic, then the chorus, so cantabile, then comes verse 2,then chorus again, then the middle part of Rob’s voice and middle part of guitars,so melodic, then the verse 3,and then chorus again, repeated more times, and finnaly comes solo guitars which dessapear in silence like a mistery, the lyrics are touching too, speaks about the love story between two persons, one in thunder and other in lighting, two persons which love to sing, and which are in love one on other, but the peoples denied them love so they must to keep them love as a forever secret. This song sounds to me in the Alice Cooper style.

screaming finishing into a fury, the lyrics are cool too, speaks about The Mower,a king of a throne of a world with no air,no light, not exit. The song sounds to me in the Halford band style,a match song fromCrucile album.

Hello all,
My copy of MOM finally arrived yesterday(about bloody time!), i listened to it while in the bath then on my ipod and...i like it.

Yep there are a few tracks that (after a few listens) i am not that keen on and the album might be better scaled down to ten tracks but im getting good vibes from it.

Early fav's for me are 'Hell Razor' 'Heartless' 'Till The Day I Die' 'Matador' and the Electric eye-ish 'Speed Of Sound'.

I like that the album has a lot of light and shade and its good to hear Rob singing more  using his chest  voice, there are some nice chord changes going on plus some catchy riffs so i don't really
have too many complaints.

And on the Fight debate i like War Of Words a lot but the image was naff, probly  Rob's middle aged crisis Lol

Boy that "Fight" is "terrible". I absolutely can't stand the "Fight" project, its utterly ridiculous in my opinion. Rob dressed in tunnel hat shorts and nu-aged "mosh" boots, baseball hat and a Pantera swaggering "mosh" for his stage pressence.......yuk,I hated it then and I hate it now haha! NO "FIGHT"!!!     And only Guido knows how many irritating times he sings the "Supersonic Silver Flying Machine"  over and over Noooooooooooo!!!! lol!

Hi Maple! I do have to agree that most of the people at Ozzfest during HALFORD wanted to hear Priest songs. However, those same people didn't even know that Heart of a Lion WAS a Priest song! So, most of those people were your typical I only know 3 Priest songs "fan". I don't consider someone that only knows Breakin' the Law, Living After Midnight and You Got Another Thing Comin' a Priest fan.

I am a HUGE fan of both Priest and HALFORD. Before Rob rejoined Priest, sure I wanted him to do Priest songs - it was the only way to hear Rob sing them. Now that he is back with Priest, I want the HALFORD band to only play HALFORD songs and Priest to play Priest. That is just my opinion and I know that others do not feel the same way. Anyone that goes to see the HALFORD band expecting Rob to do Priest songs for the majority of the set now will be completely disappointed. He has already stated that he will only include a couple songs that Priest has never played live. Now that makes me happy because it will be the only way to hear some of those great songs done live. People tend to forget that this is his Solo project he is promoting. My advice to fans is, if you want to hear Priest, then go see Priest. I'll be there in Cleveland to support the HALFORD band and hopefully other HALFORD band fans turn out as well. Perhaps Ozzfest had too diverse a crowd and isn't a good indication of what people want to hear. Most of the people by me wanted to see Motley Crue and stood there with their big 80's hair and boobs popping out of their tank tops..... I'll let you know the reaction in Cleveland. But I agree, Priest has a ton more fans out there than the Halford band does and more people know Priest songs than Halford/Fight songs.

Two things here IMO: 1) Halford so needs Tipton & Downing as part of the writing and collaboration, it is obvious 2) Halford is doing the Scream tour with Ozzy shortly in the US. Ok, Ozzy has been playing 19+ song great setlists and including everything spanning his career with Sabbath to his solo stuff incl: Into the Void, Rat Salad, Killer of Giants, Bark at the Moon, Flying High Again etc..

Halford better pack some good & more Priest tunes into his setlist this time, b/c honestly all his solo stuff (Golgatha?) incl. Fight at this point is: dated and cant even hold water to what Ozzy is doing night in and out. So you can go on and about Silent Screams etc..and most of the other solo stuff, but seriously people do not want to hear it. He can hide it, but nothing comes across better than the classic Priest material, hello. Especially in this day, people have complained that the older Metal Bands are considered dinosaur acts. Im sure I will hear some feedback on this, but I wanted to put this one out b/c it has been on my mind. Thanks.

Just came in from a 9 mile run which gave me a lot of time to listen. In the 4:01 "Made of Metal" (song), "Supersonic silver flying machine" is repeated 20 times by my count. The lyrics only list 18.

I also see little to no resemblance between "Heartless" and "Heart of a Lion" save for the fact that Halford sings it, it has some of the same band members playing both and the chorus has the word "Heart" in it.

lol! You love the Made Of Metal cd but hate the Angel Of Retribution cd,that just blows my mind away, but its all good dude,we like what we like. Saying you don't like tracks like "Judas Rising,Deal With The Devil,Wheels Of Fire,Demonizer,Eulegy" is like someone saying they don't like songs like "Riding On The Wind,Jawbreaker,Heading Out To The  Highway,Nightcrawler and Battle Hym". It just blows me away. Angel Of Retribution compleately wipes away the Made Of Metal album so far its not even a comparison.

Hellrider,I'd go as far as saying that by you claiming Angel Of Retribution being "dull" is no different than you saying Defenders Of The Faith,Screaming For Veangeance,British Steel,Hell Bent For Leather,Stained Class,Sin After Sin and Sad Wings Of Destiny all being "dull".  Your the only person I've ever heard call the album "dull" lol!

Angel Of Retribution is a perfect example of how Priest and Rob get "fuc?ed" as you put it, for not getting the credit they deserve! HAHA!

But whatever none the less,if you think that it is "dull" than it is dull to you,no worries.I know people who think Painkiller sucks, yet I love it so its all good.

Oh yeah! And welcome back despite saying you're embarrassed to be "part of such a lame forum", BTW. Unfortunately, I've lost count as to how many times you said you were leaving and not coming back, but welcome back anyways. I guess you wanna enjoy the "petty chat" once more? Are you gonna tell us how to "grow up"? Please! Do tell!

..i coulda gone off at that comment on 'see Halford live'...if Anaheim is anything to go by - sorry - NO. ANOTHER waste of effort...ffs, some of u ppl are stuck in 'hero-worship' mode and can't see a bad thing when it happens...

Here's my two cents worth without hearing the album yet. The cover looks like a video game. That would suggest that the album is aimed toward the kind of losers that play video games. Judging by some of the comments people have made to do with this album having sporting themes, maybe he's trying to crack the video game soundtrack market. I bloody hope not but I wouldn't put it past somebody who put out an album of christmas songs.

Thats how I feel about  the Angel Of Retribution album. I actually do like the song "Hell Razor"....I'm not too impressed with the chorus but its not bad either just kinda dullish, but I'll still say that one song is ok.

The other 13 songs on Made Of Metal I just can't digest,my system won't accept it.It sucks that I don't like the album,I tired but I just can't get into it,same way with Retribution for you hellrider. Man Angel Of Retribution is Priest's 6th best recor.............ahhhh never mind. lol!!!

Damn, that was the lineup! Pat was da bomb! Imagine them in a place that must hold 1000 max. While I was on Mike's side and snagged his pick, I remember thinking how much I wanted to be on Pat's side during the show. HAAAA!

The following vid is even odd in that Mike isn't standing on Glenn's side. He pretty much sticks to the right in most shows.

Yeah, I just looked at R in R as well as Anaheim. The latter doesn't do it at all and I know it was Mike in Detroit as I was standing about a foot away (yet five feet below) him. The video on that scene is too tough to post as it is so dark but I am positive it was Mike then.

Like you said, maybe they took turns!?

Sorry, the Rock in Rio III DVD shows Pat doing the intro to Into the Pit. I just assumed that Pat did it at every show. You know what they say when you ass-u-me! Maybe Pat and Mike alternated doing it? Once again, I WISH I could have seen them back then..... *sigh*

No. That deep voice asking if you want to "go into the fucking PIIIIIIIIIIIT" is actually Metal Mike. At least at the show I saw and all the bootlegs (one of which I am currently segmenting).

Yup, that's him! It's obvious that he loves to sing just watching the HALFORD DVDs. I don't know if he only sings now or if he plays guitar in the bands too.

Pat, a singer? Cool! I'll have to check him out to see how he sounds. Is he the one who's talking right before Into the Pit starts on Live Insurrection?
