I remember seeing that version of Metalogy at a Best Buy a few months ago. First thought was, "Holy shit! Metalogy!", and the second thought, "But where are the studs???" Plus it was $40, if I recall correctly, so I didn't buy it.
[spapad] Friday, June 08, 2012 7:36:23 PM
I bought it too. The box sold it with all those studs. Lovely!
So glad to find out that I'm not the only one that bought it because I thought the studded box was really cool!! I already had the DVD, but hell, I LOVED that concert video!

As an owner of the original boxset, two things really jump out at me. First, there is no bonus DVD. THAT was a big plus for me. Second, they don't seem to show the actualy studded box! That was also very cool. I could imagine this to be cheaper packaging sent in a flimsy mailer and only four of the original five Metalogy discs.
Now HERE is a good shot of the original. Notice the studs all around the box + DVD. The one they picture here pales in my opinion. I'd be a bit wary....
uh everyyone, today they have that deal on that judas priest metalogy box set.. the price was like $23.99,, does that seem to good to be true? its a little sketchy lol, the site has a link through popmarket.com.. for those who are not familiar wiith american currency, $23.99 would be the price of 1 or 2 cd's . depending on where you bought it from

Has anyone here heard of these guys before. I bought this in 1990 and at the time I didn't realize
it was a re-release. Up until today (went to youtube to find a video to post) I thought this was a 90's band
that failed. I like them but always thought the name didn't fit the musical style and contributed to their
failure. To me they sounded like 70's hard rock with a 90's metal name. Today I found out they are from
the 70's.(it only took me 21 years to find out)

They'll be bringing in their own fans to the shows with Priest.
Been gettin into Thin Lizzy lately. These guys pull off some amazing dual guitar harmonies and solos. They put a lot of bands these days to shame ...ha!

That is a really odd song. Why would a folk singer make a Heavy Metal reference, but then again why would a folk singer talk about burying a victim? Creepy guy.

It shocks me this thread doesn't do better. It's such an awesome idea for one.
@Jimmy
This thread turned me on to SAHG. I would love to see those guys tour. They are one
of the best bands that I've heard recently. Great musicians, great vocals, (overall) great band.
@everyone else.
Check these guys out, they're badass.

Check out these guys everyone. One of New Zealands top metal bands, BEASTWARS.

I just tried again.
Right click does nothing and left click pops up a block that asks if I want to save file.
I give up.

I have Quicktime, iTunes, and VLC so I must be doing something wrong. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Saturday, July 02, 2011 8:19:08 PM)

Nah, that'll just drive Bud into the same problem he is having: downloading the file and THEN playing it.
The answer lies more to what you already have stated on the page. He needs to be able to stream the audio. Quicktime would do it, iTunes, VLC even (ugh) Microsoft Media Player. It is a computer configuration problem where he said to "save" instead of "play using..."
RIGHT click on the *.mp3 file, Bud. On a PC it'll open with a dialog letting you choose "play using.." (Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Saturday, July 02, 2011 6:50:35 PM)

Not sure what the story is there but if you click on this link and then click on where it says "27 metal meltdown69.mp3" it should just start playing the show. It might take a few seconds if your computer is slow but it should work.
The first time I checked out your radio show I had to download it to listen.
Then I read where others had to also and you wrote that they didn't. Anyway, I
went back when you put the Red Fang up and I couldn't figure out how to play
it so I ran the file. The first time I did that it saved to my computer so I thought it
did this time also. It didn't or I can't find it. I don't have it and was too embarassed
to ask you how to listen to your show without downloading it. So, I never heard it.
I'll video a song from Machine Head. I have pit passes so the footage should be awesome
but the closer to the stage you are the worse the sound is so it may not be worth watching.
That new song is pretty good. At first I thought it was a little long but it freakin' jams. Keep
this thread alive man. I think it's a great idea. When I was young you didn't have anything like
this to turn you on to things you haven't heard. It was radio, word of mouth, and magazine, so
I'm sure all us us were missing shit back in the day. This would have been so cool. Young
people don't realize just how lucky they are. Peace!
jimmyjames wrote:
The first two albums Burn My Eyes and The MoreThings Change are awesome, then they released two albums that are pure shit, The Burning Red and Supercharger. Since then they've come back into form with two albums you should definately check out, Through The Ashes Of Empires (really good) and The Blackening (the best metal album of 07 by a long stretch). This new one, if the first track here is anything to go by, could be the best album of 2011. Can't wait to hear the whole thing.
That festival looks awesome. I'd be there for Megadeth, Machinehead, Kingdom Of Sorrow and Red Fang (what did you think of their new song by the way?). Saw Disturbed and Trivium earlier this year, Disturbed were average, Trivium were shit. Got no interest in Godsmack or any of the others really but that festival will be real cool. Maybe you could post some footage of Machinehead in action?
Budred wrote:
I'm glad you posted that. I haven't heard those guys for awhile. I saw them twice at Ozzfest 97'.
I bought their first two CD's and was liking them but it seemed like they just faded away. They are
going to be at Mayhem next month and I forgot how good they were.
Mayhem...
Disturbed
Godsmack
Megadeth
Machine Head
In Flames
Trivium
Kingdom of Sorrow
Red Fang
Straight Line Stitch
...and a few more
