With each year JP's tours become more incredible and fantastic (if talk about planning stage, decorations...).
The last tour was super!!!!!! I like it

Rob has a little "hut" backstage where he changes as well as sits down and gets oxygen if he needs it. If it was that hot and humid, I'm sure he needed a break. Sounds like Rob's back/leg was giving him problems again. One show he will be just fine and dancing around and the next night he will be limping. It's a hard life driving from city to city on a bus.
The concert in Leipzig, Germany ROCKED, but the venue was like a Turkish bath inside (HOT and humid). It was 33C (93F) outside during the day, and there was no A/C or even fans to ventilate the air in the venue. Some people were having trouble with it, and had to be treated by medics. I know the bands don't control this, but I'm sure they could have some kind of influence, right?
One question that I had about the band itself was, why did Rob go back stage after almost every song? True, he's not getting any younger, but I think that he may have been in pain(?) of some sorts since he was walking with a cane at times during the concert. I'm hoping that he was/is okay. I can only immagine how hot it was for the band on stage, too.
That said, they concert ROCKED, and my wife and step-son also had a great time.

Make sure those boots have high heels. That way you can tower over everyone else and get the best pics/video.
It better happen! I have already bought two new cameras and am looking for some new black boots!

I didn't like that they used Queen's "We Are the Champions" as their...departure song, I guess? You know, when they play the song through the venue speakers as soon as the last band leaves the stage, as if to say, "show's over"? Yeah, didn't like this one. I mean, sure, the band is a champ, absolutely no doubt about it, but I'm the one here LOSING my idols to age and retirement! Nope, felt more like a loser. Maybe that was what the band wanted us to feel after the show? That somehow we're all champions, but losers at the same time? *shrugs* Ah, well. I least I have the memories.
I dunno. Just wanted to put that out there. I can't be the only one, right?

My brother (and I for a few songs) taped the whole thing in Detroit. Had a guard both in front and behind and they never said a word.
Camera and cameraphone, though. Funny to watch as you can see when we both get really excited and the video bounces around. Not exactly professional quality but, between us, we did get the whole show.
[spapad] Sunday, November 20, 2011 1:08:25 PM
I did notice one guy at the Detroit show who had a digital camcorder but the scope was pretty big on it and they told him to shut if off, but several people were using smaller cameras, that were taking great video from my view, and they never once said a thing to them.
I saw them twice in the U.K. on this tour no BS Jam and I will see them tonight in MA.
Do you mean the War Pigs intro before the curtain drops?
Thanks

Cannot say enough about the show last night in Jersey. Priest played flawlessly and my personal faves were: Blood Red Skies, Nightcrawler and Beyond the Realms. They are a well oiled machine 21 songs in all and what can you say except they brought it to the house last nite. Loved too when they did the Black Sabbath jam for about 2min. Also showed the old school Priest in them, in so many ways. Halford delivering on many highs and his mid range screams brought the roof down OMG. Richie is really blending in nicely with the band, and his solos were spot on. Tipton is still the master ripping and shredding the whole night. Ian was as steady as ever, the backbone of the rythym section with Scott. Great Pyro and Light Show too certainly brought this long-time Priest fan back to the old days and the set list kicked ass too. Full House &The sound was terrific with the double bass of scott travis pulsating all night. If you are on the fence I suggest you go and not miss this one. Thank you JP for a great show! MPleSyrp

I loved your vids too Budred - brings back fantastic memories for me. Sorry that you had the security guard from hell where you were. I filmed the entire song Beyond The Realms Of Death. The one security guard was falling asleep in front of us and the other kept looking at me but didn't do anything.... guess it all depends on if they are on a power trip or not. In Detroit, one security guard told me that I couldn't tape the banner to the rail (even though the tape came off easily and didn't hurt their precious rail, LOL). Then the two security guards in front of us came over and told me that we looked like nice people and didn't look like we were trouble makers so whatever happened with the banner they were OK with. I taped it up when the lights went down and the guy on the power trip was too busy yelling at people in front of him to care about me
Thanks to Spa and [ . ] for the comments.
Those videos would have been so awesome if I could have filmed from my seat.
I had to move back because they wouldn't allow video cameras. I didn't think to take
my digital camera. Those videos actually leave me confused because I think Rob
sounded better than I remember from the show. The same thing happened when
I took video of Three Days Grace at Uproar. Their singer sucked but the video made him
sound better. (No, Rob didn't suck!)

Last night, Izod Center, Section 9 floor, Row H. Show was awesome and the first for my 15 year old son. Two of his friends were there and one other dad. I can only express superlatives about the show. I missed not seeing KK, but since we were sitting right in front of Richie Faulkner, as the show went on I came to appreciate what he brings and enjoyed his work. Faulkner rocks, can play.
I met a fan that has a brother that works at Izod Center on the beer line ... and she said, "want to see the play list" ... 'sure!' Out comes the printout, each song, including special effects. The flames, set, lasers, all well done. Not overdone. Their "new" version of Diamonds and Rust, uptempo, great. The backscreen of different album covers as they did music from the entire collection, great touch.
My first show was British Steel tour in 1980 when I was 17. My son loved the show, has been listening to Priest music for years so he knew all the songs. Painkiller and Judas Is Rising are his two favorites. Up front where we were the fans were totally into it. There was a large crowd, close to being sold out. Halford sounded great, I cannot believe he can still do what he does.
A great experience for me and my son. I am not big on the super-detailed concert review thing. Reviewers of all kinds seem like they need to find 'something good' and 'something bad'. Sorry, but for me and my kid it was all GREAT. Unforgettable experience. For me, the count is 8 shows, all memorable. If they add more USA tour dates near me I am going to go again.

People here are funny. I think some comment without fully reading a post. Two people have mentioned
the word fight now when referring to me yet I never accused anyone of that. I said people were angry because
my opinion differed from their's. Read the posts, it's obvious. If you guys think Priest was that great then so be it.
All I know is that out of the 17 times that I've seen them that was my least favorite. They've sounded so much
better in the past.

AWESOME!! Glad you had a great show too!! I was saying the same thing to people, it reminded me of Rob on the Painkiller tour. It was really mind blowing, IMO.

Budred, I was at the same show that you were. You said that people were "laughing at Rob when he tried to hit those notes". Rob knew that he was on - I loved that look he gave the crowd after some of his screams as if to say to everyone "Yeah - what did you think of that?!" He is moving around the stage so much more than in the past and giving it everything that he has, for almost 2 1/2 hours each night! If I were fighting with you, you would KNOW it. I just don't agree with your review of the exact same show that I was at. You want Priest to hang it up and you said that they should have done so after the British Steel tour. Well, I don't agree with that either - I am so incredibly thankful that I was able to see them 3 more times and hear Rob sing some of my favorite Priest tracks that I had never heard done live before. Richie does make them sound different, there is no getting around that. I can totally see where fans would be upset by that, it's a hard pill to swallow.

what planet I'm from and another just seemed to be joining the frenzy so how can I not take
that as angry. There was "these pseudo fans" and "Never Satisfied" comments. I said that 14 out of 17
times they were amazing. That's never satisfied? I've seen them every time they hit this area since 1981
and bought every album they've released but because I thought this show lacked a little I'm a
pseudo fan.
I didn't agree that they were that awesome but I didn't leave a single post referring
to any person who did. If you guys think it's just me I even had a private message telling me
they thought that it was funny that people get angry with me because my opinioned differed
from the others. I learned (thank you Jimmy) to not let myself get out of hand and almost
everything I do on here is tempered or thought out (usually) so as not to do what I did my first
year here. So I'm not going to do anything stupid. As negative as my post may be all I was saying
was that it wasn't what Priest has gotten me accustomed to over the years. I didn't say they sucked.
I didn't suggest anyone not go.

He is moving around the stage so much more than in the past and giving it everything that he has, for almost 2 1/2 hours each night!

I dunno, man. Rob sounded great in that one, sound effects and all. Great sound!
You don't have that all right. I actually was joking about the what planet where you on saying. I supposed you've never used that it jest have you? I forget you often don't get my humor. The pseudo fans was about the guys that wanted to stand on the floor drink their beer and not move and inch and expect everyone around them to behave the same, that little story was the reason for that post. Saying Fuckin off the Hook is not wrong, they were to me.
The overall tone of your posts were not exactly something I would agree with at all, but I didn't go out of my way to fight with you. If I did you'd know it.
I did bear witness to what I thought of the shows.
BTW, I'll get round to watching the videos when I get Firefox runnning right again One little update screwed the whole thing up.

No one commented on the other two so I'm not sure you guys really want to see these.
I realize not everyone comments on everything they read or see but I thought these would
draw some kind of reaction. Hope some enjoy. Peace!
