There are no FREAKING words to descrive the forever life-changing evening I spent with JP last night. Where to begin -
Thin Lizzy kicked ASS big time. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Those boys can rock. Got a guitar pick, too!
Black Label Society. Lots of talent, but not my cup of tea. Zakk is an INSANE guitarist, but it's not melodic to my ears, just a whole lot of violent thrash, which has its appeal to lots of fans, but not me. And seriously dude - what's with the spitting?????
So, after the last stage changes, Battle Hymn starts, and Priest comes out. I don't know what to say. Our seats were front row floors, on the right side, so I spent the evening gettting to know Glenn, who was pretty much parked in front of us when he wasn't bopping around the stage. It's hard to describe everything - it really was like I was in a crazy dream (and no, I wasn't stoned!!!!)
Ian - man he can rock - and he is still beautiful!! He was too far back to see that well over the speakers, unless I was on my tiptoes, but at one point while Ritchie was doing his solo, and everyone was looking stage left, Ian was just strumming and keeping the bass rhythm going, I started waving frantically to him and he noticed my arms and turned to look at me. Every pair of eyes is on Ritchie at this point, but I'm screaming "IAN!!!! IAN!!!!" and he starts laughing.
Scott - WHAT AN ANIMAL!!!!!!!!! I don't know what blew me away more - his machine-like precision or his bare arms. I don't know how he does it.
Ritchie - OK, he's not KK, but the boy can play. He fit in beautifully, and there was a great dynamic between him and Glenn, and strangely, I found he could pass for Glenn's son. Kudos to him for stepping into KK's shoes, and for looking quite happy about being up there with the rest of the Gods. But, truthfully, I did miss the dynamic I've seen in many a concert video, between KK and Glenn.
Glenn........GLENNNNN!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! From the moment he came out, I went berserk! I can't believe that this rockstar that I have idolized for YEARS was like arm's length away from me. He is unbelievable!!! He loves what he's doing, STILL, and it is sooo apparent. He loves his fans, too, and we were freaking out that he was that close and could see what we were saying - I yelled out GLENN I LOVE YOU!!!!!! and he winked at me, I thought I was going to DIE!!!!!! He was there right in front of us the whole night. I don't think I've even processed this yet...and it feels so surreal. He is a freaking axe-wizard extraordinaire. It was just like I dreamed, but BETTER! I could have watched him forever. I'm still feeling a little nuts right now!
Rob. ROB HALFORD! Holy Shit! What can you say????? I thought I was going to pee myself or cry hysterically when I first looked at him. But I behaved. Here he was - my IDOL....and he's still got it. That voice is like magic. Sure, he's aged, and the voice has changed, but he nailed everything he did. I loved how he talked between some of the songs. Does he ever own the stage when he's out there. He didn't spend a lot of time on our side of the stage, but he put on a hell of a show - the costume changes, the Harley....The audience was nuts, absolutely nuts for him. When Breaking the Law started, my husband's like - "Doesn't he sing this any of this song?" The crowd was bouncing and banging like an ocean storm. I was so glad about the setlist - got to hear Heading Out to The Highway live, and The Sentinel, etc,...there were some things I really missed, like most of DOTF and SFV, and TYRANT (Rob - next time, please!!!!) but maybe next time. The 2 hours and change went by so quickly, I couldn't believe when YGATC started, and then LAM, and then it was over. I almost thought about jumping the stage when they were all holding hands together for the final bow...but then Glenn jumped down to give out picks, and when he got to me and handed it to me, he held on to my hand for a moment, looked into my eyes, and then I blew him a kiss and he blew it back! My hubby let me have my teenage moment without any grief, which was AWESOME!
Will I see them again? Damn right I will, come hell or high water. If I had the money, I'd follow them across the globe for the whole tour. They're in Quebec for the next 2 nights.....hmmmmmm, that's only 6 hours drive or so...... But really - best night of my life. I'm just sorry I waited so long. God Bless those boys, and I just want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for keeping me young, and keeping a song in my heart. Love you boys forever!

I'm still happy from Tues night!

I've had GM cars all my life but I've always loved the Ford Mustang. I finally got one.
Not new, it's 2004, but it only has 47,000 miles and the body is super clean. It's orange,
which I thought I would hate but it's actually pretty cool. I parked it next to a truck yesterday
and when I came out it wasn't visible until I saw what looked like orange lights under the
truck. Turns out it was my car reflecting off the rain puddles. My car was the only car in the lot
doing that. I thought it was cool. Can't wait to get the stereo from my other car installed into it
so I can jam a little Priest in it.

I was there last night too, far, far away from the stage but I couldn't be happier. It was brilliant. I'm only sorry I waited so long to get into them and see them live! I hope I get another chance, but if not, this was the definitive show to see. They were all so on their game, and I have to give Richie props. No one can replace KK, but he can play a guitar. And Rob, Rob........ I was breathless.

Spa, Vail, Acolyte, Guido, HRMG, Metallo and crew - you guys all rock. Thanks for 'getting' me. I have to say - I've 'met' some awesome people on this site, and my dream is for all of us to meet up somewhere during the next tour and all go together, front row center. STAY METAL MY FRIENDS!

He was there right in front of us the whole night. I don't think I've even processed this yet...and it feels so surreal.
Exactly how I felt when I was standing a couple of rows away from Glenn at the Bakersfield concert. He was RIGHT THERE, yet it all seemed like a dream. So happy you got to see JP at their best live, hopefully not for the last time.
Dear Spa, HRMG, Acolyte, Guido and gang:
Fantastic to read your review! Congrats on the pick from Glenn and a little bit of flirtatousness! So glad you had such a good experience...........Now, you can wait it out till next time with the rest of us who can't get engough of Priest Live. Rock on MetalGodess!
Hey HRMG and Acolyte - shucks, you two are bringing tears to my eyes right now! My biggest wish is that they do come back...if they don't, I don't know what I'll do. This was just a taste. I know at some point they have to hang up their gear, but I just truly hope that it ain't anytime soon. I pray that after the tour and a well-deserved break (albeit SHORT!!!!) they hit the studio and start recording again. WHEN (not IF) they tour again - I wish we could all go together. There's nothing like going with other Priest fans who love 'em like we do!!!!

Oh FANTASTIC! Your review had me grinning from ear to ear! I was just waiting for that "cherry on top" of Glenn handing you a pick! GOOD FOR YOU!
Damn, I wonder if I could make it to Quebec tonight? I'll pick you up on the way! LOL!!! Great review!

Thin Lizzy kicked ASS big time. Thoroughly enjoyed them. Those boys can rock. Got a guitar pick, too!

Metalgodess,
I figure your about an hour away right now (Eastern Standard Time) of having your life forever altered by the awesomeness that is Judas Priest!
It will be hard to pick your jaw up off the floor when you hear Rob hit all the right notes consistently all night long and the guys hammer out the best music and energy!
I wish I was right there with you! If I won the lotto big time, (which is impossible because I don't play, lol) I'd follow this tour and see it everynight! That's just how much I enjoyed this tour!

Must be me then since I was the only one with the camera all night except a couple of minutes when I could not even extend my arms high enough to take pictures and Bev helped me out. I can't wait to see all the pictures from the two shows!
We already ordered the frame for the banner . Rob was so incredibly gracious. I know we were keeping him and yet he stayed to chat a little. And I can't believe what came out of my mouth - just normal stuff, nothing like what I thought I would say when I had the chance to speak to him. I guess the letter that I wrote him last December that Big Dave gave to him during the HALFORD tour said it all and I don't think that I could have said it to his face without starting to cry. It was better this way. I didn't even think to ask him what he whispers in Sinner! DAMN! He is exactly the man that I thought he was - very sincere and he has such a big heart which of course you can tell in the songs he writes and probably why we all fell in love with him (at least that's why I did). I still can't believe that it actually happened!!!

We just met the entire band in the hotel this morning in Cleveland!! Glenn and Richie talked to us for quite a while and Glenn asked about our sons. We waited another hour and then Rob came down the elevator. I know he was running late to get to New York, but he stayed and talked to us anyway. He is such a gentleman. Mark told him that I'd been waiting 29 years for a hug and he said, "Well come here - I wouldn't wait 29 years!" But it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT let me tell you!! The entire band signed the banner that we made too. What a perfect way to end our triple Priest feast!!
And I don't care what people say about Rob's voice - at all 3 shows that I went to from where I was standing he was F'ING AWESOME!!! People around us were going nuts and in complete awe by his incredible voice!

A touch of class - you are absolutely right. You don't see that very often in the world of Rock -n- Roll do you? Rob was such an incredible gentleman, I was just really blown away by him. That's AWESOME, HRMG!!!!!! Sounds like a dream come true for you and the family! Wish my lucky star would shine down on me Tuesday night. At least one dream came true - just flipped my existing tickets for front row floors, right side, so I guess Ian and I will be banging heads together! 5 more sleeps! Hope I don't get squashed by space junk in the meantime! WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
