Technically, you don't need to. Just install Firfox. Both can run simultaneously.
Why it won't let you get rid of it is yet another question.... [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Sunday, December 06, 2009 9:06:54 PM)

OK, I would do that, but my computer wont let me just dump IE alltogether. I only wish!

Dump IE 8 altogether. My best advice. I work in a roomfull of nerds and NONE use IE. That is for grannies and grandpas.

Bev, I had the exact same run time error not long ago on my work PC. It was already updated to IE 8 and it made no differnce. I put Firefox on it, and I'm the only one who can use it, and I've never encountered that problem again. Once I got used to how firefox works and what to do, I found I liked it so much I reinstalled in onto my home PC, and now it is my browser of choice.

Uncle Guido, I went ahead and downloaded IE8, since we were already using 7. Error still persisted but have decided to send reports. If they continue, I'll load Firefox. But I'm thinking since this isn't the pc I'll be on after I move I'll just wait 'til I'm settled and can visit more regularly. Thanks for your help as always! Cheers!

Or you CHANGE BROWSERS! As I said many a time, IE SUX! It is slow, it is buggy. Think about it, I work in a roomfull of IT nerds and not a single one runs IE be they Mac, PC or Linux users.
I'm running IE 8 - have reported error message - microsoft insists its a program error...guess either Murray looks into it or i live with it... :(

No. Browsers are almost identical nowadays and the fact that you install Firefox does NOT mean that you have to uninstall IE. Both can run simultaneously. IT will have no idea unless they prevent you from installing your own apps.
