All browsers (even newer ones like Google's Chrome) are virtually identical.
Like I posted before, download and install it and give it a try. It is a completely different app. Don't like it, uninstall it. On some machines I (this one, for example) I have three browers. I get all the trade mags and Firefox always wins all categories hands down. There is a reason they now dominate the browser war by a BIG margin. I know it autoupdates but are you sure you are running the latest version of Firefox? They just came out with a new, faster version for PC. Well, seems ol' Guids is right, eh Vail? Funny thing. I WORK in a roomful of PCs, build them and have four in my own house. Only reason I type on a Mac is because my company buys it and I still run virtual PC! I cannot believe a youngster like you hadn't caught onto the "wave" yet. I just read a recent review of Chrome (google's new browser) and claims IT is even better than IE. Firefox has like 75% of the Windows market now in browsers. Had I the time, I would have just said to install it and try it. It does not eliminate IE. Don't like it, just uninstall it and play with that popup window all night.
Spa. To answer your question I'd need to know more about your system. How much RAM, what apps do you run in the background, etc. I'd bet you any money that you have a lot of apps running in the background that you don't need. Firefox schools IE in every speedtest. It is something else. Describe more and maybe I can help. You saw it running on my webbook, though. Wouldn't even think of running IE on such a limited machine. |

My fix? Stop using IE as you should have done so years ago. Firefox has always been the choice of nerds and is also free. IE is a dinosaur, bloatware and runs slower then hell. Use Firefox. Free, faster, more secure and able to customize 1000x more than IE. Download, install, import your bookmarks and, voilá, problem solved.
