Yesterday I decided to give Seventh Star another listen. Seventh Star is Black Sabbath "pulling a Turbo": mullets and synths all over the place. Seventh Star was released in 1986 as well. Funny huh?
The songs are 100% glam rock. The vocals are smooth as silk. The lyrics are just silly and the music is mellow and cheesy as hell. The video to "No Stranger To Love" is completely ridiculous. All the singer's doing is walking around with that silly mullet. And yet, I'm really enjoying this whole thing. Go figure...

Dehumanizer definitely stands out as the most powerful album Sabbath had put out since Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I first heard Time Machine when I picked up the Wayne's World soundtrack (porn star Tia Carre's version of Sweet's Ballroom Blitz always makes me thing dirty thoughts and alternate lyrics Hehehehe). Too be honest, it wasn't until a few years ago until I decided to give the post-Ozzy Sabbath eras a listen to (thank you Sirius Satellite Radio). I think the musicianship on the album is searing hot and Dio's vocal's are at their most powerful during I.
As for Seventh Star, I like The Shining, but never had a chance to hear the whole album. Okay...I could not sit through No Stranger To Love. Black Sabbath doing a power ballad? And a crappy one at that. Sorry but that sucked big time. There are very very few songs from the Kevin Martin and Ian Gillian eras that I care for, and that was definitely not one of them. Not even close. I'm gonna go puke now. British Steel.....classic as f*ck.....
My classic heavy metal album of the day is from a band that is not from the 80's or can be asume as a classic one, is a japanese one, is called Metalucifer and the album is Heavy Metal Drill:
Oh by the way, talking about classic heavy metal, I put a threat about new bands that made classic styled heavy metal, since it haven't many success I put it here so people can know this amazing bands:
YOU THOUGHT CLASSIC HEAVY METAL WAS DEAD??....YOU THOUGHT WRONG.....B*TCH!!!!!
harsh words?? no, If you thought classic heavy metal was dead you deserve it(well, maybe not haha...whatever), now let me show you some new bands that plays oldschool classic heavy metal, no thrash(I know manny new bands but I think you won't be interested...but if you want, feel free to ask haha),death, black, or european power flower metal, no this is old heavy classic baddass metal bands, in the vein of Juda Priest, Iron Maiden, NWOBHM bands or just speed/heavy/ power USA metal, let me introduce some of them:
- A Mexican heavy metal band, they play particulary amazing oldschool heavy metal:
http://www.myspace.com/voltax
-Finland speed heavy metal band:
http://www.myspace.com/speedtrapmetal
I'm particulary proud of this band, is from my country, I kinda know ths guys personally and believe me, they love old school classic heavy metal with passion, ,in their words they play "rock metal", lately they have a little speed metal aproximation, this they are:
http://www.myspace.com/cobraperu
-Japanese heavy metal band:
http://www.myspace.com/hellhoundjapanofficial
-A metallic AC/DC would be good definiton for this band:http://www.myspace.com/bulletsweden
The next bands have the particular characterist of being alternate projects of some famous members of famous metal bands in the undeground and extreme metal scene:
-Metalucifer is the side project of Gezol from Sabbat, a band that has been called the" japanese Venom", I particulary enjoy this one, playing some classic NWOBHM oriented heavy metal:
http://www.myspace.com/metaluciferfansite
-Chrome Division is the side projext of Shagrath from symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, here he does not play vocals but the guitar it can be called a heavy 'n roll act, or hardcorish heavy metal, also very influenced by Motörhead, if you want a band that sing about girls, booze, cigars, motorcycles, the road, an that little evil red guy, this is it:
-Armour is a side project of from the front man of thewse black metal acts Blasphemous Evil, Blutrache (Fin), Satanic Warmaster, Gestapo 666, Horna, Incriminated, Kyprian's Circle, Mental Terror, Pest (Fin), Shatargat, The True Werwolf, Vomitfago, Warloghe, Krieg, here with the nickname of Vince Venom, in his own words"If Udo Dirkschneider and Blackie Lawless would have a bastard son, his name would be Vince Venom.":
