I have the Fuel for Life DVD from there as well. I used to have it years ago on VHS and my first Cattledog Max, ate it in a fit of separation anxiety.

Ahhh...follow-up to the Turbo Lover question posed here the other day. As noted, the Electric Eye DVD does NOT have the same versions as those on the VHS (originals) Fuel for Life. I had just never noticed.

I mentioned that I also had a DVD. It is, in fact, from Brazil and has the exact copies from the same analog source as the Fuel for Life VHS. Even better, has 5.1 surround sound. Mystery solved!
[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 7:50:01 PM
Yeah I'm pretty damn happy right now lol just need to find a vase haha.

I have Turbo Lover stuck in my head LOL random I know but it's stuck haha.
[spapad] Thursday, February 12, 2009 7:47:48 PM
What a Brilliant suprise and what I great way to catch you off guard. You must have one special husband to have him think in advance like that. Great for you!
Yeah, I would be boohooing too for a while!

[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 7:37:37 PM
Yep, we were very glad to move here, it's closer to home for us than my husbands last posting with the army

OH MY GOSH I just got a wonderful surprise. A lady showed up from a local flower shop with some flowers from my husband he must have ordered them before he left for Afghanistan. Half a dozen red roses and a box of chocolates. The card made me cry 'Loving you with all my heart no matter where in the world I am'. Sorry soppy moment here lol.
[spapad] Thursday, February 12, 2009 7:04:23 PM
Well at least you didn't get laid off.  You moved, a positive thing! It does suck to have to look for a job in a new area though, your not as well connected as you would like to be.

[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:57:43 PM
Cheers, but I'm not working at the moment because we moved here fairly recently, thankfully not due to getting sacked. But it's still difficult, more and more people are applying for less jobs.
[spapad] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:55:43 PM
Chicken noodle soup with allot of club crackers all mushed up in it is really good at times like these.
The job thing wories everyone these days,  no one wants to be in that line these days, sorry for your loss friend.

I never used to be home during the day (he screens at 1pm here) but because I am between jobs I'm watching it lol.
I think its time for food, sick of waiting lol. Even though my mouth is still a little numb hehe. I'm starving.
[spapad] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:51:51 PM
No worries, you will tire of him soon enough. I used to find him funny and entertaining but I see him devolving to a "Springer" type atmosphere sometimes, which might improve it a bit?!

[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:43:26 PM
I read that too lol! Yeah I reckon they must be sadists haha.
Dr Phil is on, how exciting lol. He cracks me up though hehe funny.
[spapad] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:41:29 PM
I once heard dentists have the highest rate of suicide in the Health care industry, but I tend to believe the profession used to atract allot of sadists. LOL

[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:25:05 PM
Oh yes, we had an old dentist a bit like that, we call him Barry the Butcher scary man lol. My sister got upset one day cos she hates needles (we were I think 10?) and he told her 'stop being so bloody stupid!' needless to say he was never our favourite person lol!
[spapad] Thursday, February 12, 2009 6:22:33 PM
I went to an orthodontist who put the fear of God in me because he was always yelling at people who did not do exactly as he said. Needless to say, at 12 I did exactly what he said to the letter. I still break out in a sweat when I go to the dentist because that man freaked me out so much! LOL

Well I'm home from the dentist (had to get a filling replaced) and $207 poorer stupid dentists what a rip off lol! MInd you I do want to keep all my own teeth so I will pay to do what's necessary to do so lol!
[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 2:15:29 PM
Stink to hear the show you saw wasn't any good, Head Banger.
LOL yep we got well in to the music videos yesterday! When I get home from the dentist (eep) later I'm hoping for more of the same lol!
Off for a run with the dog now, need some exercise
[paorcamp] Thursday, February 12, 2009 12:43:00 PM
oh God...I watched the news and what's been happening in australia is a tragedy...
[paorcamp] Thursday, February 12, 2009 7:30:51 AM
uh!! finally this thread became something interesting with all that music and videos!!
[Head banger] Thursday, February 12, 2009 7:22:27 AM
I was highly unimpressed with their razors edge concert in calgary.  bad seats, but I had a great view from the side, and everyone even on the floor was sitting down for almost the whole show.  in fact, if they didnt drop the "money" during money talks, I bet no one would have stood up except to go get a beer.

I just finished watching the videos, awesome now watching Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares LMAO.
[guidogodoy] Thursday, February 12, 2009 2:38:50 AM
My decision was made when I first saw it and I consolidate it now. Electric Eye - Desert Plains is THE song. Those dual risers going up with KK and Glenn. Instant classic.
G'nite Vail. Having started "the Priest roll"  I feel that I shall be keeping the night for quite some time.

Yeah!! He even takes his coat off and puts it back on several times!!...and I still wonder what happened to that black custom Hamer that he used in the official Turbo Lover video.

Damnit, almost 2:30 am here and instead of heading off to bed, I am heading off to the highway with the Electric Eye concert vid!

YEEEEHHHHHAAAA!!!! Blond / longhair Rob in DALLAS! Damn awesome concert...no sleep soon.
[Becks] Thursday, February 12, 2009 2:16:46 AM
That's good to know guido, I'm enjoying these videos thus far the one for Locked In was pretty damn funny
[Vaillant 3.0] Thursday, February 12, 2009 2:16:38 AM

Heheh...you mean the Hamer Glenn uses in the first two minutes of this video? I'll see to it that I grab it ASAP!!

Not the "real" vids, as was just recently called to my attention. "Fuel for Life" was the VHS that had all the original MTV / Promo videos and I had never noticed that Electtric Eye has modified versions. I do have a DVD of "Fuel" but I believe I got it in Brazil. Gotta dig it out to see if it is the same as the VHS.

As the question was posed, compare "Turbo" from "Electric Eye" and the following. Big differences. Namely, no Rob and gang floating in and out of the beginning! I am a purist. I like the following better (compare the chorus images):

Sounds awesome, I'd love to do a road trippy thing like that my husband would too, he's a JP fan also, though not as fervent as me
[guidogodoy] Thursday, February 12, 2009 12:17:52 AM
Yup, I saw that one (Priest having to cancel, that is). That would really suck. I complain about them having come nowhere near me, I still was able to drive some 11 hours to go see / meet them with my bud, Guitardude.

In retrospect, I had NO little reason to complain. Wonderful time, wonderful company, wonderful show. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

They haven't been in NZ for like 15 years, blimmin Australian band not like they've got far to travel LOL.
Priest cancelled their show here last year (logistics reasons), they'd better come back or I'll be mad LOL!
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, February 11, 2009 11:56:36 PM
While I love them, I gotta say that I saw them once in Detroit. "Blow up your Video" tour. I left rather unimpressed. Maybe it was an "off night" but, for as many times as I have seen Priest, I have NEVER seen them have such an "off night." Very little audience interaction. Brian's voice was pretty haggered, cost a mint and a short set.

Still, love them. Onto "Dirty Deeds."

Woohoo! Gotta love that AC/DC. My twin sister is seeing them at the o2 arena in London in April, I'm so feckin jealous. Hopefully they come down here, although bands tend to skip NZ
