HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's probably the one thing I'll miss about the old signal. The images were fuzzy, but at least it held on despite the weather outside.
Oh, well...this technology is pretty new (correct me if I'm wrong). Maybe there will be improvements in the future. For now we'll just have to deal with the distorted images, I guess.

No need to blame Calvin! Although I would probably blame Lucy for the same, but not interference of signal as much as evacuating a room!
Digital Sat. hates storms, hates snow, but it is probably better than the outrageous amount of money I pay for COMCAST BASTARDS a month.

You anticipated my only comment. The damn weather. Whereas before I could still pull in the locals when my sat. went out, now I lose ALL tv when it gets windy / rainy, etc.
That really sux! One of the only reasons I still have the old analog hookup complete with antenna rotator and all. While a better image, I would prefer to have the old signal as it wouldn't go out as the current one does with all the storms we get. I now lose all signals with a strong fart. CALVIN!!

So...today was the" big transition" from analog to digital signals for TVs. Any thoughts on the new DTV signal? In the over four years that I have been a member of this site, I have seen people come and go. Nothing, and I mean nothing, unusual about that. But to insinuate, even without purpose, that those who have decided to leave us and not return are somehow a "better" class of people is a HUGE load of self-righteous BULL SH#@. Very few that have permanently left are all that missed. In fact, there are more that need to go. More importantly, those that have stayed are, by and large, wonderful people! NOT troublemakers and losers that need to "get a life", as has so often been suggested. And, as you point out, there is a very large group that leave and return...often more than once!
I am so sick of hearing about how "terrible" this place is and how great it "used to be". I have been here a long time (relatively speaking) and this place is fantastic. Moreover, some of my best friends are here and have never left! Admittedly , there are other sites available and there will always be a debate as to which is "better", however, much like people, "better" is a very subjective definition.
If someone here does not like this site or finds its membership distasteful, they are free to leave. In fact, I encourage them to do so. Perhaps they can join the "better" people that apparently can only achieve that lofty status by departing from our midst?

I have read today that they believe the flu is on its way out... and that the WHO world health organ. Is not going to raie the health threat... ( Yeah yeah yeah.. well see ) Its to early to tell I think.. we just had our 1st reported case here in Manitoba. Better be gone by summer.. Iam not missing any of my concerts!!!! LOL

I know this is scary but I can't help but think that between our government (yes, I know we have the idiot Zumatello in power now but still, lets try to be hopeful now) and the WHO knowing that there is an iminent pandemic on the horizon, extra messures will be taken now that the powers that be, as well as us, the ordinary people are aware of the dangers of Swine Flu. Places outside of Mexico where cases are being reported and confirmed are quarentining suspected patients so I think we should do our best not to panic in a dire situation.

Very sad "entertainment" news, especially for those of us that live here in Las Vegas. Danny Gans has passed away at age 52. For those of you not familiar with his work, Gans was an impressionist and singer/entertainer. His show was basically a list of songs from famous singers. He was incredibly talented. I saw him YEARS ago and his voice was dead-on. Honestly. He was awesome.
Gans had signed a 150 MILLION dollar contract with the Wynn hotel and did five or six shows a night. He was wildly popular here in Vegas and really, really did a fantastic job onstage. He was known as "The Man of a Thousand Voices". |

I'm happy to hear that all the people who were being tested in Belgium turned out negative. Still some people who are being tested right now but sofar no "mexican flu" found in Belgium.
I hope that they have it under controle in the other country's to and it'll be over soon. |
