She has the best manners in a car I have ever seen, she has somewhat got some confusion with exactly when to ask to go outside, but I'm sure she will catch on quickly.
She is very smart and has already learned her name. Don't let the picture fool you, she does not cower! She just doesn't like the flash of a camera!
I love her already and it hasn't been but a couple hours! She just had a bath too,....she kinda stank really bad!

| We've got what I can only describe as a small zoo starting. I was away visiting a very good friend for a week and got home to find my mother has bought a new kitten. She's pitch black in colour, can't be much older than six weeks old (she's so tiny it's too cute) and her name is Pepsi. Pictures will hopefully follow. |

I had a Husky many years ago and when she was little she would run behind the couch, but there was a piece of door trim on the other side and she couldn't fit. So she would bark till I got up and moved the couch out. No sooner than I would put it back she would do the same thing again. So I got smart and left the couch pulled out several inches to aviod this, she still went behind the couch and barked because it was "her game"! | | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Not really. Calvin is just SUCH a sweetheart that he lets her get away with murder. I give both a bone and she takes his. He goes for hers and she takes that one. She grabs something Calvin REALLY wants and Calvin could take it easily and she knows it so heads under my bed (where there are more dogtoys than anything else). Barking fight ensues as he can't fit.
However, in an open fight she goes for his legs while he can just full-on roll her. After all, he has her by 20 lbs. He merely flops on her and she has no fight other than scratching (hmm....reminds me of old girlfriends...but I digress...LOL!). |

Just to set the record straight...the SHOES are worth [ed correction...let's rephrase it to COST] far more than the dogs.
Two things they don't mess with: my running shoes and my birds. Oh yeah...and my guitars. Puppy Nina chewed up the foam on one of my stands. Glad she got out of that phase or we would have had trouble! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by spapad from Sunday, March 01, 2009 1:44:01 PM)

If you look at his back, you can see the dent near his tail area where the fracture is. I haven't got a photo of him sitting up but he's even looking straighter nowdays. Wow! That's great news, Joe. You had me in tears when you told me he was going to be ok. I was so happy for you and him. He is one very lucky kitten to have such a loving and caring "mother". I was so worried about him that I never slept on Saturday night. May he get stonger and live a long and happy life. :) [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by joedraper from Sunday, February 08, 2009 1:54:03 PM)| | | joedraper wrote: | | Thank you all so much for your comforting words, support and genuine well wishes.
I'm sure that you all played a part in the news that I recieved late this morning:
Yuda does not have a broken back (thank God!) He does however have a severe pelvic fracture and his ball joint in his leg is split in two. The vet says that his options are to have a surgery that will cost me around R10 000 (not sure what that converts back to in your currency, I think it's around US$ 1000 I think we're R10 to the dollar now) Anyways, so if he has that surgery, there is no guarantee that he will have any more mobitliy than if he's left to heal naturally. Also, recovery will take a minimum of eight to nine months. If his ball joint is not healed in three months then it will have to be removed.. I'm not sure if this will mean just removing the joint or removing the entire leg. I'm hoping neither will have to go.
If all goes well, I'll be able to bring him home and start nursing him back to health tomorrow. Craig (my husband) wants me to take him to a vet that we both have great respect for as a second opinion. We only stopped seeing her because we moved to another city. She's about an hours drive from where we currently live so I'm thinking of taking Yuda's X-rays to her first for analysis rather than put him through a painful, long car journey.
I'll take what ever advice hers is and then we'll take it from there. I'm just so thankful that his back is not broken. He'll have a permanent limp (according to the vet who's seeing him now) but at least he will be mobile. It's going to be a very long road to recovery but one that I'm commited to.
Thank you all for making this a little more bearable for me. I have had such a rough weekend but I'm only starting to feel some relief now. My baby is going to get through this.
You guys are honestly the best friends that anyone could wish for.
YOU ARE THE BEST!!! and I love you all

I'm so glad to hear that Yuda doesn't have a broken back!
it's going to be a long recovery but he will be alright, he's going to get through it, I'm sure you're going to take good care of him... and I think you should get thet second opinion.. I leave this one for you

Thank you all so much for your comforting words, support and genuine well wishes.
