Dammit...
I hate to admit but I do agree with you on most part... I really like No prayer for the dying, however fear of the dark was terrible.. except for the title track.
X factor I bought and didn't even listen to it, I think I just bought it to own in my collection. Virtial Eleven - I"m not even going there..
BUT... What about the self titled.. number of the beast, somewhere on time, killers, powerslave, piece of mind, brave new world..etc.. (I"m sure there is a another)
Again my opinion, but those are enough for me to step aside and name them one of the best overall metal bands and influential of all time...
so they made some "poop".. Priest is by far my favorite band and they as well made some lesser songs, shall I say.
Dont get me wrong, I love motorhead. I just can't put them "quite" with maiden. again opinion, I dont wanna step on toes.. I'll simmer down.

I think "Be Quick Or Be Dead" is one of Maiden's best songs but as for the album of Fear Of The Dark? It sucks the big one...... ..one of Iron Maiden's lame albums..... Now......your turn?

Maiden is the one of the most talented metal bands, they never changed the sound. Never sold out and went techno or disco (yes I'm referring to kiss)..The never gave up on Eddie.. and c'mon created power metal.. (along with others)
So they made a lil filler.. I know that the later stuff is lil more tame compared to the later....~ Brave new world was the acception.
But what the hell was wrong with Seventh Son.. Fear of the Dark I can see.. (but hey the song fear of the dark is friggin awesome), I guess I can also see no prayer for the dyin.. but overall come on!
Motorhead is soild as hell... but they didn't necessarily create what Maiden did sound or talent wise.

And I'd lay money that 85 % of people would vote for Motorhead. No......I can't answer who is "better".....but being a fan of both for this many years....(27 years for both bands)...I KNOW who is more "consistant in writting quality material"....and that trophy
has to go to Motorhead in my opinion.....and only judging on what Iron Maiden and Motorhead fans have told me about each band's albums throughout both the band's careers.
I've heard constant bickering about Iron Maiden's direction and styles of song writting....and how they are nowhere near as good as they once were from fans throught the years
but I never hear that from Motorhead fans all these years? Why is this? Because Motorhead stays true to thier fans and has written more quality albums for Motorhead fans
than Maiden has written for thier fans throught the years. Thats all I am saying....I'm not saying that Motorheads albums are better than the first 5 albums of Iron Maiden....
I'm just saying that to Motorhead fans...they get more albums consistantly from Motorhead than the Iron Maiden fan. "Bastards" was a great album! Opening track "On your Feet Or On Your Knees".....then "the awsome song "Burner".............."Death Or Glory"................"I Am The Sword"........
"Born To Raise Hell"..............."Bad Woman"..............."Liar".............."Im Your Man"........"Lost In The Ozone"............."Devils" ....those "10" songs are great Motorhead songs and
there are only 2 that are throw away songs so thats is a great Motorhead album....don't know what you are hearing here b.s.??? Bastards was a great album for Motorhead fans!
And you say that "the latest Motorhead album is nothing to write home about either"?? LOL! Are you kidding me here?? LOL!! 19th studio album 2008 "Motorizer" is excellent!
"Runnaround Man"......."Teach You How To Sing The Blues"........"When The Eagle Screams".........."Rock Out"......."One Short Life"......"Buried Alive"......."English Rose".....
"Back On The Chain"............"Heros"..............."Time Is Right"..........."The Thousand Names Of God".............. "All 11 songs here are classic Motorhead"....and a really great
album to true "Motorhead fans". No worries, but obviously you are not a Motorhead fan that knows what they should or should not be doing........I am.
I've liked Motorhead since 1981 !!!
And going to the "Blaze Baily" two albums he did for Iron maiden era......he is a terrible singer and although it was not his fault...those songs were terrible...
"The X Factor" and "Virtual Eleven"..are Maiden's 2 worst albums of thier career. And Maiden's first 6 or 7 albums are far beyond "Ace Of Spades"?
No way in hell ! lol! No way that Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son come anywhere NEAR Ace Of Spades...not even close.....
And Motorhead has only 2 good songs? LOL! Ok...ok.....its obvious that you really have no passion for Motorhead at all and thats fine with me and all.....
But you also have no clue as to what quality Motorhead is.....I "AM" a Iron Maiden fan and have followed then since 1982 "The Number Of The Beast" album.
So I am a very long time fan of Iron Maiden....I was there when they wrote thier first 5 albums and ever since 1984's Powerslave.... they have not wrote one album
that can match the greatness of 1984's "Powerslave". Every album is far off from Powerslave. We will just have to agree to "disagree". Simple as that.
But its still obvious...that Motorhead is way way more consistant in writting quality albums consistantly than Iron Maiden ever has.

Yeah but as you said...No Prayer For The Dying wasn't so great...neither was Fear Of The Dark and then the next 2 albums with Blaze were terrible...thats 4 studio albums in a row......
Then they put out Brave New World wich was ok...I liked 6 songs out of 10 songs...4 were lame....the next album 2003 "Dance Of Death' to me is Iron Maiden's worst album with
Bruce Dickinson...so thats 5 albums that are very poor...since 1988's Seventh Son album.....
While on the other hand...Motorhead put out "March Or Die" in 1992 wich was thier worst album (and they only have 2 albums that are under par out of 19 albums)...and since March Or Die..
they have "consistantly" put out 9 great studio albums from 1993 - 2008 and counting........
.......all in a row.......(1993)"Bastards".......(1995)"Sacrifice".......(1996)Overnight Sensation......(1999)"Snake Bite Love"...............(2000)"We Are Motorhead".........
....."(2002)"Hammered".............(2004)"Inferno".............(2006)"Kiss Of Death"..........(2008)"Motorizer"
So thats "9" studio albums in a row of consistant top notch song writting for Motorhead while Iron Maiden has had 5 albums that are not good since 1988..even if you like
Dnce Of Death....thats still "4" studio albums in a row from 1990-1998 that were terrible.....so I don't think Maiden has been "consistant"...but Motorhead "has been consistant" to Motorhead fans.

Iron Maiden and Motorhead play 2 different styles of music. If we were to talk about album consistancy....Motorhead blows Iron Maiden out of the water...not even close at all.
Motorhead has 19 studio albums and there really is only about 2 that are under par.......Iron Maiden can not match that even if they only have 14 studio albums....they have nowhere near
as many "quality" records that Motorhead has.............Motorhead really has been "clutch" in song writting and albums that kick ass! |
