Well, yeah, I squeeze a few posts here in between my assignments...
I will be only too glad to hear your take. Tho I must run now, because the shift will be over in a few mins, but I will read it and grade it when I get home. Maybe the CEOs dont give a shit? With a wage of your average bourgeois, they can afford to screw up.
And 14 hours is a lot, BUT... Lets just put the numbers together here... I work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, about 20 days a month on an average month. Income: just under 600€/month, which is not really a bad wage - actualy its twice as high as the minimal wage, tho it depends heavily on how many hours I work. Now, lets take a CEO. IDK what kind of a wage the guy you mentioned has, but if he is a CEO, it must go into a couple of thousand € for sure. Lets say 6000€, which would make him ten times richer than me. If it was a fair distribution, then he would have to work 80 hrs a day! And 6000€ is not really a lot, when it comes to the bourgeois incomes. If they would really have to earn what they get, they wouldnt be getting anywhere near as much as they do. It would be impossible. We, on the other hand, would get a lot more, because we wouldnt be producing their excesses, we could keep a lot more for ourselves. When I was a kid, much like others on the Board here, I did't get paid to do 'our' house, but to go to the neighbors who didn't have kids or go to the elderly, it would get a neccessary chore done and put a little change in your pocket.
It also gives a sense of good community and builds relationships. It really works quite nicely.

Well, IDK, as I said I did all those things when I was a kid, and still do, and never got paid for it. I guess its different if you have somebody elses kids doing it, tho. I never cleared snow from my neighbours driveway...
In any case, 45 minutes over midnight here, so its about time I get to sleep. See you tomorow, I hope. 1 week 'til Christmas and I still have a lot of shopping to do. Nothing puts me in the spirit faster than wrapping gifts!!
Also, who here has played 'Rock Band' or 'Guitar Hero'?? Yep, 42 yrs. old and I played 'Rock Band' the other night. Yes, I was not in my usual state when this happened, and I totally sucked (played drums). My lowest score was the first song w/68% and a high of 88%, and that was on easy. We did try Painkiller on easy and I scored a 77%. My 2 friends and I had fun though.

It's 19F, the warmest at this hour all week with 4 inches of fresh snow waiting to be shoveled!!

HB, I don't know where you're from, but in Indiana here, we've had days like you've described. It hasn't happend in awhile, but you never forget 'em either. I live near the Windy City, so I can relate to wind chill. Sometimes we have to leave the faucets slightly on so the pipes don't freeze. Stay warm my friend and I hope this isn't what your entire winter is like!! You know, I am now thinking trees. The field has none. As you can see, my yard is filled with trees. Leaves perhaps? Ice wouldn't hit the hotter ground.
Fields are usually mushy as well. You can see that I am up on a hill running down into that lower field. <===city slicker grasping at straws! Not that it bothers me much (NW Tennessee is at a standstill, though), but why is my house covered with ice while that field across the street has none?
Can you tell I am a DEEEtroit city-boy? I say it must have something to do with compost / fertilizer generating heat. Come on farmers, who can answer this one?

No. That is a different episode. That is one where a guy comes across a watch that can stop time and eventually uses it to steal.
Breaks it in the end and time stays frozen forever. Do do do do.....(moral? Don't be greedy. Even if you CAN stop time!) Heh, my mom got me a birthday card that said everyone would be super duper nice to me....as if I were a blond with big boobs (I am).

I FEEL LIKE BURGESS MEDITETH IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE. THE EPISODE WHERE HE WORKS IN A BANK AND HE IS IN THE VAULT WHEN A NUCLEAR BOMB DESTROYES THE WORLD AND HE'S THE ONLY ONE LEFT ALIVE. HE LOVES TO READ AND HE FINDS A LIBRARY, HE HAS ALL THE BOOKS AND ALL THE TIME TO READ BECAUSE THERE IS NO ONE AROUND. THEN HE BREAKS HIS GLASSES AND CAN'T READ.
WELL I DON'T WEAR GLASSES, BUT WHERE IS EVERYBODY, I'M ON LUNCH AND IT'S RAINING OUT AND I WANT COMPANY.
I GUESS I'LL SHORTEN MY LUNCH AND TRY TO LEAVE CLOSE TO ON TIME TONIGHT.
