[Deep Freeze] Friday, December 12, 2008 12:23:19 PM
WOW. I guess I should consider myself quite lucky. I do not think I have ever owned a place without central air!
[devils_child] Friday, December 12, 2008 12:21:21 PM
Very few people have central cooling.. I only ever dream of a day where i can have that privledge.... I haven't met anyone who has it either... I know why the shopping malls are packed in summer, it's because we all want free aircon!!

yeah, well, we have forced air heat.  central air is scarce here,  then again, temps in the 90's are rare, and I dont think we have seen 100F in my memory.  no humidity either.

Yeah, lots of older style and cheap apartments don't have aircon. and by cheap i mean suburban.. not exactly cheap mind you. Older houses & government houses don't. Unless you have the money to pay for and get installed you have to suffer. Lots of people have back decks or patios.. good for the afternoon breeze (if there is one)... but yes growing up i had no aircon to speak of, it was pedestal fan and spray bottle for me  The garden hose provided hours of cooling off until water restrictions came in... so i purchased some big mean looking water guns... hehehe

God may have created it, but man jacked up the price so us average working class cannot afford to aircondition all but one room in the house... yes i find myself sleeping on the couch at times because my matress is like a hotplate. I am very greatful to have aircon in the loungeroom, many of my friends do not have the privledge... guess who hosts all the movie nights at her house in summer?

Well with a name like "Freeze" one would assue that you like snow?.... hehehe, I hear ya on the cold thing. I had lower jaw surgery resulting in 3 screws in either side of my jaw, whenever the weather gets cold my jaw is stiff and it aches. Not that i like summer however... a warm climate is nice though, I'm so sick of sweating my butt off all day, and waking up already perspiring is not my idea of comfort.

[scorpion01] Friday, December 12, 2008 11:16:07 AM
SNOW IS A GREAT THING. IF YOU DON'T FIGHT IT, IT MAKES YOU FEEL SO YOUNG.  MY KIDS THINK I'S A BIG KID WHEN IT SNOWS.

I TOTALLY AGREE ABOUT THE LACK OF SUNSHINE.  I'M GOING NUTS IN OUR NEW OFFICES. NO WINDOWS. WE DON'T SEE DAYLIGHT ALL DAY AND IT IS DARK WHEN WE LEAVE AT NIGHT.

BUT I HAVE PRIEST ON MY COMPUTER TO BRIGHTEN MY DAY.

WHEN THE DAY IS OVER
I LIKE TO EASE UP MY MIND........... ROCK, ROCK, ROCK FOREVER.

I'DLOVE TO SEE THEM REPLACE I'M A ROCKER WITH ROCK FOREVER WHEN THEY COME BACK TO THE STATES.

LOL  .. Yes as much as I complain about snow  I do really love the change of seasons..
Here In Winnipeg we get alot more sunshine during the day, than when I lived in Montana.. it was always gloomy and snowing, and overcast there everday, esp in the mountains..  I counted one time... we went 17 days with no sunshine..  and yes it effects alot of people.. depression   ect...

It has actually snowed here several times during my 15 year tenure. Not a blizzard by any stretch, but we occasionally get flurries. I do recall one year when there was maybe two or three inches on the ground in the morning and people in my neighborhood were out making "snowmen". It melted in a couple hours, of course.  One of the attractive reasons I moved here was heat. I do not like snow and gloomy weather! It hurts my body and depresses me, however, the Princess loves it! Being a Las Vegas native, she has an appreciation for actual weather.

Thanks for the link mate!

LOL, (on the guitar note) yesterday my uncle brought home an inflatable guitar.. haha I stole it off him and started pulling Glenn moves in the loungeroom, My brother had my bass and was doing the Ian moves... We had Rising in the East on. It's just too damn hard not to imitate them when watching the live dvd's. Oh Oh, and I learnt Green Manalishi yesterday... I'm so proud of myself. I only started playing again this week, old lucy (My Bass) had been untouched in a good 6 months.

Does anyone know where I'd be able to order a giant window sticker of the Judas priest logo, I've seen heaps of people who have their favourite bands logo stuck to their rear car window.... I want one!!

Does anybody know what a Fathead is. Basically a large poster that you hang on a wall. They are usually sports logos or animated characters. You can email them from the website with ideas for new types. If all the Priest fans email them requesting a Judas Priest or Rob Halford Fathead they might just do it. I would love to see a Fathead of Halford from the unleashed album. I have a "man cave" with a pool table and foosball where me and the boys hang out and play poker and party, it would be a nice addition. If anybody is interested please email them. Thanks!

Oh and the reverse goes for "severe thunderstorm"...... It usually never eventuates. I make my own pedictions just by looking at the sky... I'm right 95% of the time.

Yeah... fat chance, I have to mow the lawn today... Gah! I'll have to chill a few beers for afterwards. I need to take a trip to the beach.. Went fishing on the weekend, that was good.. had a nice breeze blowing across the water. We got a storm that night, and looks like today is going to result in one as well. They're pretty spectacular... as long as nothing is damaged. We've had a few bad one's recently.

So when you get "snow storms" do you get lightning and thunder?

FRICKEN HOT!!!  It's not so much the heat of the sun... which mind you will fry you to a crisp in 8 minutes... it's the humidity level. I live on the North East Coast, so it's semi tropical... anyone who lives further north than here is nuts in my eyes. We had a cool change yesterday, but the humidity has come back with a vengeance today... I'm perpetually sweating.... it's gross.  I thank God we have airconditioning in our livingroom.

Tony Iommi giving tips on how to play guitar..... so we look up gazing at the screen in awe.... we keep waching.... THEN.... a clip from Vengeance 82 plays... Glenn pops up on screen to give an interview..... we scream "PRIEST!".... high five each other then laugh... hahaha.... We then went to browse the guitars and found a flying V, started singing Devils Child.... we have listened to Priest wayyyy too much....

We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies.

Awwwwwww Sweety!!  I know sometimes it's hard not to feel that way, Trust is one of the biggest issues I have with people, but i realise that if i never take that leap of faith with anyone i could be refusing myself alot of happiness. Stand tall, be strong and remember that there will always be people who love and respect you. ...

Sometimes this is how I feel.

It's sad when the people you know become the people you knew, when you can walk right past someone like they were never a big part of your life, how you used to be able to talk for hours and how now you can barely look at them. Sometimes its hard to tell who has your back from who has had it long enough to just stab you in it. If that's the case then why trust anyone at all?

Haa! I knew where you were going with that one as I just yesterday made a similar comment to someone. Yup, we too have great murders here in TN! Hundreds, if not thousands.

The city fires bottle rockets to scare them away from some public buildings and often close parks due to HUGE murders!

One would think that they have freedom all year long and a great ( ! ) capitalist society where they don't feel the shortages and distress that others not so free countries face on a regular basis
More reactions like this and I'll start thinking that they live under extreme duress all the time, having only one day  in the year where they can afford to buy stuff they need to survive like $700 flat screen tv's and $9 DVD's.

You are right about the catttle prods. That is why cops have tasers here. It's the cowboy legacy, you see....

This may sound a little simple.... But I'm glad I live in Australia....   Sounds to me that Walmart employees should be given electrode cattle prods or riot gear to control the masses.....

When Walmart made the announcement over the speakers that they were closing the store due to the death of the employee, the cattle raged about having waited for hours to do their "shopping". Can you imagine a bunch of fat bastards yelling and screaming bursting into Walmart? I have a feeling if there was a definite attempt to close down the store it would have been looted and wrecked. Stealing is what many there came to do anyway, strength in numbers.

"He was bum-rushed by 200 people," said Jimmy Overby, 43, a co-worker. "They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too...I literally had to fight people off my back."

Update #1, New York Times: By 4:55, with no police officers in sight, the crowd of more than 2,000 had become a rabble, and could be held back no longer. Fists banged and shoulders pressed on the sliding-glass double doors, which bowed in with the weight of the assault. Six to 10 workers inside tried to push back, but it was hopeless. Suddenly, witnesses and the police said, the doors shattered, and the shrieking mob surged through in a blind rush for holiday bargains.

Update #2 from Boing Boing: Union responds and visit the website walmartcrimereport.com to review other incidents of Wal-mart not providing a safe work and shopping experience.

Update #3, More Black Friday Deaths: 2 gunmen kill each other in shootout at Toys 'R' Us in Palm Desert

As it is shown, consumer confidence isn't too bad in this "crisis" when they kill to enter stores and then kill each other while they're in them.

Not too look as though I am itching for a fight, which I am not, but can anyone tell me why it is that we must lay the blame for such idiocy at the feet of Walmart? "They should have known". "They should have taken precautions". Why is it that Walmart, or any other business, is responsible for the actions of a cretinous population ?? More of the same old "not my fault" mentality?  "I did NOT have sex with that woman". Umm....OK.

People are idiots, by and large. At least this has been my experience. The general population is made up of morons. Over the last ten to twenty years, we have witnessed a "me" generation take over our society and now they have absolutely NO responsibility for what they do. Sign a mortgage that you KNOW is not right for you? No problem. Buy things you KNOW you cannot afford? No problem. Stomp another human being to dust so you can buy useless garbage for ANOTHER "me" kid? No problem. It is not MY fault! It is the government or the corporations or whatever. Right?

Gado.
It's the gado mentality. America is all about GADO mentality. Trampling anybody that doesn't belong to the herd, the culture is only about Walmart and what is selling, from the richest to the poorest. It's all about what you can afford, not about what you can give. Walmart doesn't have much of anything people can live without but that is not the point. The point is that Walmart is America and America tramples over anything that constitutes Humanity. Because one employee was trampled to death, Walmart stock raised a few points on the stock market as a sign that the economy is in good health in spite of the recent "crisis".
