Now that brought back some memories. My 5th or 6th concert and my first experience in the front row.
I hadn't even heard of them yet. They played a commercial on local TV for the show bragging up their light show
and saying they never opened a show, they headlined from the beginning while showing clips of them jamming making
them look good so I figured I would check them out. A little tough coming up with the $7.00 for admission (lol) but man
what a kickass show.
I got goosebumps watching that and thinking about seeing them then.

Dio superior to Rob???.... dang man you better be careful what you say.
Last time I saw Maiden Bruce sounded fairly good for the most part. He never had the RANGE that Rob had, but he sounded good in his range. Victim would have been imposible for him at any age. Rob has lost a little range, but still has more than anyone else today. Now, Dio, if he was alive put them both to shame. His range might not have been quite that of Rob, but the clarity was AMAZING. Saw him a couple of years back with heaven and hell, forget the exact year. best vocal performance I have ever seen, IMO far superior to Rob on the painkiller tour.
[Brian_Evans] Monday, March 18, 2013 11:41:47 PM
Amazing and clear.......it's not all about the hgh notes or low ones. Show me a vid where Rob can pull this off.
Honestly? No comparison. Bruce could not and cannot hit the notes Rob did. Don't get me wrong, this was a great rendition of "Children" and my own tag photo shows I am no hater of Maiden but Rob puts Bruce to shame.
Bruce strains to hit the lowest note Rob can hit. Let me see one vid of Bruce trying (key word there) to sing "Victim of Changes" then or (even worse) now and there is just no comparison.

(op. ed. His range is both showcased and simply amazing here. Puts all I previouisly posted to shame).

This is something I've always said and stand by 100%! To me, Bruce has always sounded way more strained than Rob ever has.

1st post. Been lurking for a bit, but Some Heads are Gonna Roll is playing on my Dio Pandora station so decided to finally chime in. You may be asking yourselves why I am not listening to my Priest Pandora station. The answer to that question is that somehow Don't Stop Believin (Journey) got a thumbs up and has resulted in that station palying all kinds of crap that I don't want to hear. Anyway, I was a Priest fan way back in early 80s (SFV and DOTF period) and then got back into metal about 5 years ago. Have seen the last few Priest shows down here in South Florida. Hoping they make it back here again at some point. Also a big Maiden fan. Actually road tripped from Florida to Texas to see them last year. See you around.
