If you win and Slovakia wins, then Slovakia is tied in points with Paraguay, which has a better goal difference. So, if you win, win with a big difference.

Yeah, but in 1930 you werent watching football... They didnt have TVs at the retired citizens home.
I have to check my sources, too... Thats what they said on our TV in the football studio. WIkipedia says 13 teams, so youre right there.
And it looks like we shared the third place with the US, since there was no third place match.

To answer the question, Budred, you heard right. While Becks is right about the Semi's, the reference to the 1930s is also correct. It is the first time since the 1930s that the USA WON ITS WC GROUP! You aren't going deaf or crazy, Bud.
Not to take anything away from them but 1930 was the first official FIFA WC and only a dozen or so countries participated. Still, it was an upset then as well.
