I never did like Queensryche!
[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Tuesday, October 02, 2012 10:28:41 PM
HA, you're right! Geoff would tell me I suck! Met him and thought he was an ass and completely full of himself. He came off as a slimy, used car salesman - polished, fake charm and feeding you complete bullshit with a big smile on his face. Geoff has a HUGE ego and Rob is very humble. Geoff only likes people that kiss his ass and Rob gets very uncomfortable when you compliment him. Geoff lost his voice a long time ago and Rob STILL HAS IT!! As Parker from QR said, there are 2 Queensryche's: one that will be playing the songs the way they were written and originally done and the other tuned WAY THE FUCK DOWN! HA! That is why Rob will always be #1 with me!!!
Don't get me wrong, Mindcrime is neck and neck with The Warning for me. But Take Hold Of The Flame breaks the tie for me. DAMN I Love that song!! And Todd can sing it, so I'll finally get to hear it the way it is supposed to be sung! The last time I heard it sung well was back during the Promised Land tour in '95. They played it when they opened for Priest during the AOR tour and it totally SUCKED!!! Oh wait, maybe it was US that SUCKED!
What?! You'd put "The Warning" in front of "Operation: Mindcrime"? No way! As Geoff would say, you suck! LOL!!!
(all kidding aside, I am on the fence with Geoff's comment to the crowd below. They DID suck! Tell them, though? I dunno. WWRD = What Would Rob Do? Well, certainly NOT the below!)

If you listen to anything, listen to Take Hold Of The Flame from the album The Warning. My favorites in order would be: The Warning, Operation Mindcrime, Queensryche (self titled EP released independently in 1982), Rage for Order and Empire. Any of these albums are worth listening to. Geoff had a great voice back in the day and knew how to write. After Empire, they just went downhill.....

We are going to see the 3 original members of QR in December. Bet it'll be a hell of a show - they are playing all the old QR stuff that Geoff refused to sing, EP through Empire

Yup. Mindcrime (ALL the way through...concept album), "Rage for Order" and "Empire" are mine in order. Not to be missed is the killer "Queen of the Reich" from their self-titled '82 album.
- [HAAA! Ed note. I had all but forgotten the video. It tells a tale! About what, I am not exactly sure except that big-hair Geoff apparently freezes some big-boobed chick with a conch shell! Ah, the '80s. LOL!!]

W.A.S.P. - Crimson Idol has to be one of the greatest concept albums ever. I put it after "The Wall" and "Operation Mindcrime."
Masterpiece, Blackie.

Somebody wrote that Halford's voice coming out before you actually see him in "Out in the Cold" was one of the most moving moments in the entire concert.
I now agree.

Damn, I envy you man. I would have LOVED to have seen them live in either era you mention.
As for looks? I don't give a crap. Ann still has the pipes!
Cool video.
Looks like around the same period as the first time I saw them live. I think 1979 or 80'.
I remember the burning question at the time, Who's hotter? Ann or Nancy?
Of course no one asks that question now.
The show was awesome though. One of my early favorites. They freakin' rocked live.
Couple that with all the fire and explosions and Heart was the sh#t.
I saw them again on the Bebe Le' Strange tour. The production was bigger but they started
to slow it down a bit and I eventually lost interest in them. Still like the first few albums though.
