Where do yu think would be best to go and hunt for them? I've tried ebay but since finances are tight at the moment I'll have a good few months of music shopping rest to think about it. If you happen to come by any LPs in stores there at a good price and from the first pressings give me a call, it's after those that I am after.

I also have a very great condition "Screaming For Vengeance" LP that my neighbor had Rob Halford sign when he worked at KISW radio station back in 1982 when Rob passed through before the concert and he gave it to me!!!
And a Sad Wings Of Destiny picture disk,Screaming For Vengeance picture disk as well,I have the UK album cover of Point Of Entry on LP,a Japan bootleg of Defenders Of The Faith LP,Stained Class LP....
I think I have a couple more Hellrider but for the most part..I've replaced all of them on CDs!!!!

I can't remember what the first Priest album I listened to (my parents listened to Priesta and metal before I was even born... ) but the first one I remember I heard was Painkiller when I was looking in my dad's CD rack and then I see the Metal Monster and Painkiller and I'm like, "This looks damn familiar... didn't my dad have a shirt with that??" then I sneak it out of his rack and listen to the whole album and I'm all like, in love with Rob's voice. |

The first Priest album I ever heard was Screaming for Vengeance. My brother brought it home and I took one look at that cover and thought, holy shit here we go. I grabbed my Walkman but he had the album cued up and playing before I could rewind my tape. I froze when I heard the first notes of The Hellion. And then when the second guitar came in and played harmony to the first, it took my breath away. Of course then Rob's voice came out of those speakers and I was COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY!! A Priest fan was born ! I'd finally found what I was looking for in music - passion, heart, soul, harmony, melody, attitude and incredible talent all rolled up into one ! |

I was locked up back in 79'. I got a flyer from Columbia House to buy 10 tapes for a penny. Unleashed in the East was in the mix and looked interesting. When it came, I checked it out and was friggin mesmerised! I think I listened to that tape till it frayed! Victim of Changes hooked me so bad, I had a friend go and get me everything she could find from this new wonder. I have now been a dedicated Priest fan for damn near 30 years and I still love em to death! I recently scored a remastered copy of Stained Class. The bonus tracks had one I had not heard called The Fire Burns Below. WOW! If you havent heard this tune, do whatever it takes to get a copy of this disc. You wont be sorry! |

I had already heard songs like "Breaking The Law", "Hell Bent For Leather", Living After Midnight" and "Heading Out To The Highway", but never an entire album. It wasn't until July 1982 when the local radio station played "Screaming For Vengeance" at 11:00PM in it's entirety the day it was released . I loved it from start to finish and bought it the next day. From there I bought ALL the other albums each week I had money - I became a Priest fan from July '82 forward. To top it all off, October '82 I flipped out when I heard a radio ad mention Priest would be coming to town in December (Coney Hatch opened the show). I remember the ad clear as day......."IF HELL HAD A JUKEBOX IT WOULD BE PLAYING......JUDAS PRIEST!!!!!". Love it! |

Although those are the only two Paper Lace songs I've ever heard...I must say you made the right choice choosing Judas Priest over them. I'd also say fairly confidently that most people in here have never heard The Night Chicago Died, or Billy Don't be a Hero. I used to own the 45. In fact I may still have it around somewhere collecting dust. LOL [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by scorpion01 from Wednesday, June 18, 2008 2:49:31 PM)

I remember in my younger days listening th things like "Billy don't be a Hero" and " The Night Chicago Died" on pop am radio when a friend of mine introduced me to a new album he just purchased. "Sin after Sin" I was blown away and Priest has been with me ever since. Thank God! Soon after I saw them live at the Palladium in New York City. I've been a head banger ever since.
