Here is an interview with KK, talking about leaving Priest and that he will never disclose his reasons for leaving the band. This man is a CLASS ACT all the way!!!
In a new interview, former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing says he’ll never completely share the reasons why he decided to retire from the band prior to their ‘farewell’ Epitaph world tour.
"It was a set of circumstances that led me to not go out [on tour with Priest] this year,” Downing tells Valley reporter Grace Bailey at his home at Astbury Hall in Shropshire, England. “I was kind of geared up for it, but there was a multitude of reasons. It pretty much came down to an unsettlement on my part with working relationships.
"It's like anything else,” continues. “If anybody out there is thinking it's hard to live with one woman, they should try to live with four guys and hold it together. [Laughs] It gets to be like that, but obviously, with certain things, I just wasn't completely happy with the way things were, with the way it was, [and I just felt like] it was probably best if I stepped down, and I did."
Richie Faulkner was brought in by the metal gods to fill out their sound, joining Glenn Tipton on guitar.
"I wish things could have been different, so I could have continued,” says K.K. “Obviously, 'cause of the passion [I had for the band]. In the [late] Sixties, I was very instrumental in creating Judas Priest, and it was a hard bullet to bite. But I thought that if this is gonna be the way that it's gonna be, then perhaps it's time to step down.
"It was a massive consideration," says the guitarist. "Obviously, the fans, who I love, and many of them have become very good friends. But I just hoped that they would appreciate that I couldn't continue with the way that I felt inside for reasons which I'll… I mean, certain reasons I will never, ever disclose.
"I have been extremely fortunate to have been able to do so many shows and tours and records, and come out of it healthy and well. But I haven't really spoken to anyone about the inner details [behind my decision], really."
Priest band members have publicly stated that they have no idea why Downing retired, with some reports speculating that his decision was based on K.K.’s need to run his 9- and 18-hole golf courses on his estate, which the guitarist has flatly denied.
Hear what K.K. has to say in the Valley interview…

Despite having the Beatles on the cover, "Guitar World" magazine has a nice little article about Priest this month. Specifically, an interview with Richie and Glenn.
Nice read on the flight home from the concerts.

by my rough count JB wants 85 million. he should have represented michael jackson. that reads like he had no clue what was going on from day one. WTF. I do hope that rob kept the rights to his material separate, and that he makes a new priest album next.

Heads up Noticeboarders! Glenn's Tour Diary's got new entries from the recent US gigs. Now if only the photo section would update just as quickly.
Just my thoughts on this subject, unprofessional as they may be. lol:
I'm sure when Rob got wind of the statements on the Q for the world to see, he could not wait to be rid of such a hostile business partner , which prompted him to Lawyer up to find a way to dissolve the contract between himself and EMAS. Then when Baxter found himself fired for pretty much his own desparate actions, he was shocked? So he goes and files this injured party law suit.
Baxter was probably being slowly disentwinded from Halford's intrests over the past year and that is what caused him to loose his mind and post the things he did. It showed just how unprofessional J.B. could be, and how low he could sink.
I would like to know just what effect these developments were having on Judas Priest prior to this suit. Perhaps KK retired to protect his own assests seeing something this unpleasant coming down the pike and wishing to be no part of another law suit.
Allas, we all will probably never really know.
Why the )*)#$ would rob do that with JB? did he not learn from the gull days?
can you post a link to the Q post? I dont want to bother trying to find it in that mess.

This is also about Priest management negotiating a 10 page ammendment to Rob's EMI contract, which Baxter had been in control of since 1992. Priest management doesn't want to lose Rob as a client. After Priest is done, Rob will be the only money maker since no one else has anything going on. Page 13 is interesting reading once you get past all the lawyer speak.
Folks just because John is the sole member of the LLC that may have nothing to do with the "rights" of Halford's material.
It could just be a legal Company that was established for legal protection, but Halford most likely kept rights to many of his other Companies listes in the suit.
An LLC is set up for legal protection and some tax benefits - that can be very different that ownership of material.
At this point we don't know.
The fact the John is trying to "pierce the corporate veil" shows he is trying to prove that Halford and his other legal vehiles have becomed blurred in their separation.

When did that happen that Baxter is the sole owner? Was that when Rob rejoined Priest or has it always been that way? I remember Rob saying that he had to restructure his business when her rejoined Priest to keep Jayne and Co. from it.
I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Jayne and others want a piece of the pie when Priest is done after this tour and have been trying to influence Rob so they can get money from Halford, etc. This goes way deeper and I'm sure it started before July. This could have something to do with why KK left - he didn't agree with whatever is going on.

Wow. Thanks for the post, Nupe. HRMG is right. This was and is a "shit / shit" situation for Rob.
When did "Baxtergate" first break. Been too long since his post. Wasn't it around August? Would all tie into the timeline as stated in the article.

hopefully the end resolution of this is a more coheasive priest. baxter looked like an idiot with the post in the Q, and if he lost 50 mil in paychecks (I doubt rob agreed to pay him 200+%) then he should have asked sooner. if he wasnt getting paid he should have quit years ago,
[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Thursday, November 03, 2011 7:55:26 AM
There is always far more to any situation than we will ever know. Looks like shit is hitting the fan though. This just completely sucks for Rob being stuck in the middle. And I knew that Jayne made the Epitaph announcement during the HALFORD tour to screw Rob. It left Rob out there to have to answer all the questions while the rest of Priest was hiding and saying nothing. It wasn't fair to Rob to have to deal with all of it while he was on tour with HALFORD. They should have had a press conference with all the members of the band. There is far more here than meets the eye!
Baxter is making himself look like an idiot - as you say, how could he not know he was not getting paid??? Sounds very bizarre to me, and bitter on Baxters part. LIke someone says in the article (an entertainment industry lawyer I believe), this smacks of someone getting in a shit cos he's been fired, and is now looking for a farewell 'present'. $50million? Give me a break.

Plus, hear from our special guests from the band Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner.

from then to now. Good stuff regardless. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Wednesday, October 19, 2011 7:22:58 AM)

Rob killed Blood Red Skies last night, the highs and all ! Don`t think they could have done that song more perfectly.
Judas Rising , Rob was a little off time with his vocals, one of the monitors by Ritchie kept vibarting out towards him and pinching his guitar cord and Glenn had one equipment issue during the the Sentinel. Other wise damn good show man! Hell even Scottie grabbed a mic to talk at the end!

GLENN TIPTON Says 'Epitaph' Tour Is 'The Beginning Of The End' Of JUDAS PRIEST - Oct. 5, 2011
Jim Beal Jr. of MySanAntonio.com recently conducted an interview with guitarist Glenn Tipton of British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
On having JUDAS PRIEST songs covered by bands from SEPULTURA to THE DONNAS, from ANNIHILATOR to KREATOR:
"A lot of bands cite JUDAS PRIEST as influences. The best compliment we've ever had was our music is timeless. It's something to be proud of. But we've never really known what we're doing."
On the key to JUDAS PRIEST's early success:
"You never really know what's going to happen. I'd been in a lot of local bands. When it was suggested Judas Priest pull in another player, we joined forces. I immediately knew something special had occurred, especially as writers."
"It's all about the song. Visually, you have to look good on stage and you have to be good players, you have to rely on the guitar players to be good soloists, but there has to be a reason for that solo break to be there. It should be all about the composition, all about the song. The music has to complement what's already there. The song is the most important thing. A band is really only as good as its songs. Every now and then, with a combination of writers, we struck a chord with listeners. We've always been proud to be a metal band, but the songs are easy to relate to. But you can't pat yourselves on the back and say you deliberately wrote these songs. We've recorded 17 studio albums and performed for millions of people and we've always evolved."
On founding JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Kenneth "K.K." Downing's decision to leave the band and Downing's replacement, Richie Faulkner:
"Ken was having a lot of problems with his wrists. He was really struggling on the last tour. When he decided to retire from the band we were pretty much in shock. We waited three months to see what would happen. We decided if we could find the right guy we'd go on. We contacted quite a few guitar players. Richie stepped into the band and it's like he was always there. He does the essence of what Ken did, but in his own way. It's been wonderful, really, but nobody wanted to see Ken go."
On JUDAS PRIEST's twin-guitar work:
"That's also something that's evolved. It's obvious when one takes a lead guitar break, the other backs him up. We worked very hard throughout the years and it evolved. We always wanted to experiment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."
On JUDAS PRIEST's current "Epitaph" tour:
"With 17 studio albums, we decided to play at least one track off each album. This is our last world tour. It takes 18 months to stage a world tour. After 40 years, we decided it's possibly time to pull back a little bit. It's not absolutely the end of the band. I'd say perhaps it's the beginning of the end."

Let me just add that I saw the Big Four at Yankee Stadium recently and Slayer was the best band there. Metallica was decent at best, tired setlist (still 4 songs from the b
lack album), no dusted old relics whatsover and they are showing their age big time. They werent very tight, played 4 ballads too (ho
hum) and you could guess which song was next. The other thing with this big four crap is there tour schedule is US one night, india in three days from now, playing back in SF in middle of october. Finally, Hetfield is still on a big ego trip saying metallica will be around forever, when in fact they are deflating quickly. I wont be back to see them anytime soon. Decent show, nothing great especially from Metallica, who is overr ated. MpleSyrp

There are a few albums from a few bands I need to pay some more attention to: from Priest it's Nostradamus and Demolition, from Metallica it's Death Magnetic and St. Anger. I haven't paid much attention to Megadeth's stuff since ...shit, a decade. I don't think I ever paid attention to Slipknot but I might give it a listen now, they've been around for a while. The band that the guys from Priest endorse, Hostile, seems very good (as expected) so I might dig in to what they're doing. Never heard Lauren Harris stuff either, so I guess I'll dump it in my "to listen list".
And then there are a ton of bands that mercifully don't sing in English and now I've discovered Mongolian traditional singing too.
Lou Reed is hardly the worst that is out there, musically and Lou Reed sounds strange in the best of times. He looks weird too. But it's ok. He does the same Euro festivals that Metallica, and a host of other metal bands do too.
I'll be honest. I don't think I gave Death Magnetic a chance because I've hated everything they put out since
the Black album. I really couldn't say whether I like it or not. At one time I thought Metallica was the only band
out their that could rival Priest. Now I just hate them. Then I watched The Big Four dvd and saw how bad James
sounds live and now I have no interest in them whatsoever. That clip that JD posted I don't know how to take.
The music part of it sounded like it might jam but the spoken word part from Lou was a little strange. If they do
release that I'm glad they're going with a name change. It might make it a little easier to accept for Metallica diehards.
I hate bashing Metallica because I loved them so much at one time. I kept hoping they would turn into a metal band
again but after St. Anger my hope turned into hate. Sort of like what's going on in my mind with Priest right now.

I have to say, Budred, I'm not very familiar with Metallica's work as of late but I heard one of their songs on the radio a few months back and that was from Death Magnetic, I think. I turned the AM radio on and this Metallica I never heard was blaring and good. I remember asking if this was some old Metallica release I was that surprised. Decades ago, when the Black Album came out, I liked it. Very melodic. Metallica always put out some great melody+speed. I don't think I like Master of Puppets like I like Ride The Lightning, which is the album that introduced me to this band.
I have come to respect Metallica for reasons such as giving credit to the bands that inspired them in more than words and hollow tributes.
When Metallica goes, it will be very sad indeed.

If they do

Holly Craptallica J.D.!!! I could not even sit through the whole piddly little release of that garbage.
I heard about this metal release earlier this week, but had not heard the proof of how bad it would suck until now. What makes Metallica think they can sell ice to eskimos? This shit is going down like the proverbial lead ballon. A cliched response to such banalitiy. Metallica needs to have their testicals wired to electrodes during the release so each "fan" who buys this shit can shock them remotely by simply pressing a "This sucks" button.

Liege Lord - Fallout (1988)
Yeah Jimmy right at the :27 mark it totally sounds so close to Hellrider....actually I should say that Hellrider's intro 2005 sounds like Liege Lord's Fallout at the :27 mark lol.
Yeah who knows, maybe they did hear it and ripped it off lol.

On the contrary JD, I would say that since the reformation there is definately a strong chance that they've heard it before and decided to rip it off.
Been listening to my old Liege Lord CD these last few weeks and I posted this back in late 2005,listen to the last track "Fallout" right at the :27 mark as it totally sounds
like K.K. and Glenn's intro to the song "Hellrider" from 2005's Angel Of Retribution. I highly doubt K.K. or Glenn have heard this album before so its a coincidence but wierd.

I think you shouldn't judge this band just because they've been to American Idol. Throughout the decades they've been to a multitude of tv shows more or less of the same vein. It's just another show. Any artist of any kind will have their cheesy moments too. Say "Gorgoroth" out loud to a recorder and then listen to your voice saying it - it's a ridiculous name! C'mon!
I nevermet anyone after the American Idol guest appearance that wore a Judas Priest t-shirt saying they're embarrassed to wear it. You're too self conscientious about what others say or do when Judas Priest is your own personal thing and preference. It's what you like to hear and you shouldn't be embarrassed if it makes you happy to wear their merchandise.
They turned into a joke on May 25th 2011 when they went on that shit fuck show called American Arsewipe!
Since that,i have not listen to a Judas Priest album and i am even embarrassed to be a Priest fan!
I won't wear a Priest shirt cause i don't want someone say to me,i saw them on American idol,so i stick with me Gorgoroth and Black Sabbath shirts!
Why i even come in here anymore,i don't know.
There are a few people in here that make laugh and that is why i guess!
But anyways, now with all the greatest hits cd's on the go i guess they are trying to cash in on American Idol fans and maybe, just maybe, they are going to be on Glee with Parental Guidance.
If so,well,i would not be shocked now!
On that note, take of yourselves and of each other!
Peace and love!
The Metallian!

This band is done. It's all descended into a joke. Honestly, the reality is this band are a joke now. Just a bunch of over the hill rip off merchants. I can't believe people on this site bag Maiden and stick up for these guys who haven't done anything decent since 1990. Yeah I'm sure the band have nothing to do with this, it's all management, Yeah right. I reckon KK left because he'd had a gutsful of this kind of shit. I think the real story is that they agreed to do a farewell tour and end it, the others welched and said "We want to do another shitty album and flog this dead horse some more" and he said "In that case I'm leaving because I don't want to see the band I started degenerate into a farce". Which it has.
And despite what everyone on this site seems to think, Rob has lost it. He just sounds screechy and irritating now.

Yeah but whats Ian supposed to say? We suck now that Ken isn't with us? I think Ian was being sarcastic sure but at the same time I'll bet not too many people are asking about K.K. on tour.....could you imagine....walking up to Ian to meet him and then asking about K.K.? I think he does realize that Ken is missed but I really don't think fans are complaining about it too much,at least on the road.

JUDAS PRIEST Bassist Says None Of Band's Fans Are Missing K.K. DOWNING - Sep. 20, 2011
Jay Nanda of the San Antonio Metal Music Examiner recently conducted an interview with bassist Ian Hill of British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: How is [the new JUDAS PRIEST guitarist] Richie [Faulkner] working out, and what can we expect of someone we've never seen play with PRIEST before?
Ian: Yeah, Richie is an altogether great talent. An absolutely excellent guitarist. He does what Ken [former PRIEST guitarist Kenneth "K.K." Downing] did, plus his own little traits. He's a great performer and character. We've been really lucky to find him. Even the way we found him — we weren't even looking. [laughs] Someone (else) was going to take over for Ken, and they couldn't do it, and it was him. You find what you can. We had a chat with him and gave him a go, and thank God. The crowd is taking to him well, and with all due respect to Ken, no one's missing him. [laughs] No one's asking about Ken.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: Really, you're not getting any feedback about K.K. not being there?
Ian: No, and you'll know why when you see Richie perform.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: You go back with K.K. during your schooldays, I believe, so it can be said that you're the closest to him. What was your first reaction when he made it known he was stepping away?
Ian: We were all absolutely stopped in our tracks. When he came up and announced that he didn't want to carry on . . . Richie knew for a month that he had the job, but God bless him, he kept his mouth shut. [laughs] We said, "Richie, if he doesn't come back, you've got the job." He must have been waiting to tell somebody.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: K.K. made it clear that it wasn't his health or his golf interests. Was it songwriting differences or a disagreement on whether this should be the final tour?
Ian: I don't know. Anything I say would be speculation. Personally, I think he had enough. Out of all of us, maybe he's the one who enjoyed it the least. If you ever get the opportunity, that's something you'd have to ask him.
San Antonio Metal Music Examiner: Rob [Halford, vocals] reportedly said the other day that you all have made significant progress on the next album. How far along are you, and what can you tell me about the songs or direction of it?
Ian: We pretty much finished three tracks. Obviously, we did this before Richie had come along. Rob and myself and Glenn [Tipton] and Scott [Travis]. There's still Richie's input to go on top of that. Rob and Glenn have got a lot of songs knocked out. My ideas, too, this time around and with Richie's input, we'll start on completing this album sometime next year. We're going to carry on from where we left off with "Angel Of Retribution". After the concept album ["Nostradamus"], we're going to get back to the heavy metal that PRIEST is known for.

I miss KK as well, but from what I have heard Richie seems to be doing pretty well. That just makes me more ready to see them when they come to my hometown of Tucson and rock that place to the ground! Also, great to hear that there is great progress in the making of the next album too. Can't wait!
Yes, a very interesting read. I for one am very happy that Richie is doing so well and the fans have taken to him. But to say that no one misses KK is going too far, IMO. No matter how well Richie performs at the shows I am going to, I will still miss KK very much, even as I applaud Richie. I accept KK's decision and life goes on, but that doesn't mean that I don't miss him.
But what I really loved reading in the full article, was that Ian had some input in writing songs for the new album!!!!

It's better to have them doing this last tour before it's too late and the management destroys our band and burns them and then burns their ashes again because things are screwed now, but they still can be worse. About the bike, obviously it should be recorded, a mic could not make it sound that good just like that, and about the intro being recorded, there are two options:
Richie is an idiot and his lack of experience with the priest made him start playing before making sure the metal god was ok (or probably he remembered the metal god is immortal and cannot be hurt ) or
it is recorded so that they do not start playing before the motorcycle rec stops playing or some lame excuse...
In any case, I'm glad he's ok, it would have been a nightmare to miss the priest in CR just a week before their arrival due to a bike accident and that we're seeing the priest go out through the doord of fame before management screw us all

Yup! That is pretty much common knowledge. But what most people don't know is that the motorcycle is actually being lead onstage by stage hands via cutting edge string puppetry. What happened in Brasilia was that they decided to go on strike and as a result they didn't keep the motorcycle up long enough for Rob to pull out the kickstand. I'm telling ya, it's true!! It explains the laser shows and the new pyro!!
Conspiracy!! There`s one to run with.. how`s this KK is playing with the band, only from backstage, that`s why the intro was going without Glenn.. but most people allready know that right?

I agree.. You can hear it's "missing something" to the sound, and that'd be Glenn. I'm pretty dang sure it's just Richie carrying on to get the intro going. Yes, the bike is and always has been pre-recorded, we've determined this, hahah... But hell, 20 year deja vu? Weird.. Would've been more ironic if it happened in Toronto again.. Set aside that, thankfully he seems just damn fine. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Saturday, September 17, 2011 12:18:25 PM)

JUDAS PRIEST Singer Falls Off Motorcycle On Stage In Brazil; Video Available - Sep. 16, 2011
JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford fell off the motorcycle he famously rides onto the stage at the end of each show during last night's (Thursday, September 15) concert at Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasilia, Brazil. Fan-filmed video footage of the incident can be seen below.
On the last show of the tour supporting PRIEST's 1990 "Painkiller" album, Halford was knocked off the motorcycle he by a misplaced prop. He broke his nose and was rendered unconscious, causing him to miss the last song of what would be his final show with the band for more than a decade.
In an interview with Hellbound, Halford stated about his nightly ritual of cruising out on stage on a motorcycle, "The whole association with motorcycles and JUDAS PRIEST goes back to 'Hell Bent for Leather' — whenever that song was written... When we were touring in England, we thought that it would be cool if we could bring the bike on stage when we did the song, as it seemed like the right thing to do. So when we would go to a city we would ask one of our crew to see if there were any motorcycle guys or girls that had parked their bikes and could we use their bikes and give them a couple of T-shirts, or buy them a drink and that type of thing.
"When we got to America, we basically asked our management company to contact Harley-Davidson and told them what we wanted to do. They were really excited about the association of their bikes with this heavy metal band from the UK. They gave us the 1981 low-rider for a dollar. Prior to that, they would give us Harley's and then we would give them back at the end of the tour. The official one that you see now, which has been customized — the frame, the wheels, the engine all the internal stuff are the original components. So we have had that bike since then."
Regarding the connection between motorcycles and rock and roll, Halford said, "In my mind, in talking about the United States, it’s all about Harley-Davidson. There has just been this ongoing relationship in rock and roll with Harley for as long as I can remember. The roots of motorcycles and rock and roll culture goes back all the way to Marlon Brando in that movie 'On The Waterfront' I think that it is still relevant in today's rock world. I've seen guys like AVENGED SEVENFOLD in other metal bands that are using bikes on stage. The MÖTLEY CRÜE boys are using bikes in their videos. We are using bikes in our videos but Harley-Davidson is the most important brand for us. They are American and the represent America, even though for awhile Harleys were made in Japan, which was a bit unusual but eventually they moved back to the States where they belonged.
"Harleys are the perfect American motorcycle to be associated with rock and roll music. And I've always said that the Harleys are synonymous with heavy metal because like heavy metal, Harleys are big and loud and brash and they smell and they piss some people off, and they have all the same attributes that heavy metal does. So it's a very close correlation between rock and roll, heavy metal and motorcycles. It's the independence, the rebel streak — all of those are attached to being on a Harley."

I agree, he must be OK because Richie didn't seem that concerned. But I was just curious what happened. Is Rob popping wheelies? Was that you that "liked" my comment? If so, send me a friend request!
Just read that, too! Where's an update on this... Maybe there's a vid online of it.. Has to be.. Everything's on this damn internet now adays.. He'll most likely be fine.

You know Metallion......sure Judas Priest are cheesey for doing American Idol, but I'm telling you as I did before its no damn different when they did "Top Of The Pops".......its got "POPS" it the title Metallion! lol!
Dude that Top Of The Pops was a TOTAL AMERICAN IDOL and in 1990 or shortly afterwards you know you were grinding your head against a speaker listening to "Painkiller" just as the rest of us were so actually you've been somewhat of a victim of Top Of The Pops all these years haha!

I get your rant JayDee and well, yes the "BAND" ( sure the management sucks too but its the band's fault for having them ) sucks at promotion.....let me tell you Saxon are 10 times worse so be glad Priest is on the level they are. Judas Priest could advertise 100 times more than Maiden and would NEVER sell anywhere close to what Maiden could sell....
Hell I'd go as far as saying that Iron Maiden wouldn't even have to promote "anything" and they would STILL SELL OUT. Maiden have achieved the status of The Rolling Stones because like Maiden The Stones could put out any under par album and it sells because of the collectors....just like Kiss....Maiden and Kiss are funner to collect than Judas Priest to the majority of fans of this genre,95% of these fans buy the new album for a complete collection rather than to thrive on the new material because the new material is so awkward and weird.
I think the over all reaction to the crowd was "dull" when they played a couple of tunes from Nostradamus and that with other things they have heard they knew they went "too far" with the Nostradamus LP,even if you and others love the disc its just not what 95% of Judas Priest fans want and its not what true rivit headed metal fans want anyways.
And as far as K.K. you mentioned,if he was here it wouldn't be any cheaper. I do get what your ranting about, but yet we are all still here and we would all be telling a lie if we said we weren't looking forwards to a BRAND NEW STUDIO ALBUM.
I think if the new album kicks ass....thats "IF".......then a lot of people will forget about the band's shitty lack of management. At this point I could give a rats butt if I see the band live or not I just want a new album to listen to.
People, let me tell you all something. It's September 15th and Priest are here in Brasilia, Brasil TONIGHT! But I'm not there, why? I'm tired and really don't want to shell out R$160.00 (they discount their price from R$300/ticket) to go to a more than half empty stadium. Labor is CHEAP here in Brasil which means they (Priest management) could have had some cheap labor paint some Priest concert advertisements on the concrete walls like every other band; plus some radio ads or 1 billboard....but NO...NOTHING!
My gosh, Iron Maiden came here 3 months ago and there was advertisment everywhere including a Iron Maiden Billboard ad right outside my apartment building plus radio ads for 2 solid weeks before the concert and guess what.....SOLD OUT! Furthermore Priest is here with 'White Snake' and I'm sick of old, out dated bands. My God Priest can't get a young fresh metal band vs dragging out old dead bands like Queensryche, White Snake? these band were good 20 years ago but come on!!!
When Priest did the Nostradamus tour they touted that they were most pround of Nostradamus BUT we got a cartoon video of 'WAR'...wow!! What about the other 3-4 songs that were 10x better? Then on tour they didn't play shit from Nos. just 2 songs..Prophecy and Death...wow!
I have loved JP for the last 30 years but since Painkiller they've had their heads up their asses when it comes to promotion. videos, producers (or lack thereof.)
KK was smart to sit this out and focus on his golf course! Edited at: Thursday, September 15, 2011 8:05:48 PM
