If you want the answer to this Question.......go rent AC/DC the Bon Scott Years....... Bon was the man.....I met him backstage when they warmed up for UFO on the If You Want Blood You Got It Tour....... He was a hell of alot of fun...... Some guy handed him a joint and said "Bon can you sign this for me?" and Bon said " No.....But I sure Can Smoke it!!!" He was a great guy and a great Front man!!!! While Brian Johnson was good he is no where near the front man Bon Scott was........ |

I never understood people that say it was a bad move for them to hire a singer that sounded exactly the same, it makes me wonder if they've ever listened to ACDC.
Brian and Bon sound nothing a like. Bring screams his balls off all the time is quite bluesy and gritty. Bon on the other hand, barely ever raised his voice and had sort of talked his way through songs. Both are amazing for sure but I haven't really heard enough of the albums to pick one. |

I usually dont comment on anything AC/DC but as much as I morned Bon when he died, the music kept going and Brian Johnson does have the voice that took AC/DC further, Bon did not have his range. He was excellent with his personality and abiltiy to work a crowd, but he did not have the vocal pressence BJ has.
Let's face it. Bon Died in February of 1980, he had been with AC/DC since 1972. Brian Johnson Joined the band a year later, if that, and with BJ the made their opus hit Back in Black. 72 to 80 Bon Scott 12 years. 81 to 2009 Brian Johnson, 28 years. Give the man some respect and give a good nod to the dead. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Wednesday, May 06, 2009 11:08:28 PM)

Bon Scott is my favorite. I only wish that I'd been old enough to see AC/DC with Bon as the front man. That must have been incredible!! |

Don't get me wrong, I like the Brian Johnson era. I love Black Ice great album, but the true voice of AC/DC will always be Bon Scott. R.I.P Bon Scott |
