Personally, I don't think JP owe an apology to Ripper. It's just that an official live album was never done in the past decade or so with Rob as frontman. In fact, it'll be the first live album released since his return to the band. Right now there's nothing else save for bootlegs that have Rob singing Painkiller, Dissident Aggressor, Riding on the Wind, etc. in recent times. I'm looking foward to this new live album.

Yeah, Beyond the Realms of Death, Painkiller, and A Touch of Evil were recorded for live albums with Ripper, but not with Rob. In addition, not everyone recognizes the Ripper era as being an actual era in Priest history. Every fan knows (or at least should know) that Rob Halford is the singer whose voice and talents are one of the main factors that attributed to the band's success and longetivity thoughout the years. Ripper kept the band alive, but the albums released with him as the singer aren't instantly labeled as "classics". The mighty Priest of today is what most fans want to hear these days.

I don't think they owe him an apology because they can basically do what they want as far as Ripper is concerned.  It is kind of crappy though to basicaly ignore the Ripper live recordings..  And whats the deal with another live album? I think what most people want is a new studio album geard toward more classic Priest instead of this.

'Priest announced that they are releasing a new album of 11 previously unreleased live tracks. However, 3 of those have been released live on CD during the Ripper era. In your opinion, is Ripper owed an apology by 'Priest for stating they haven't released a live album with him, or do you think it's understandable for them to ignore the Ripper era ever having existed?
