My classic heavy metal album of the day is The Skull - Trouble ( 1985 ).
This album is ace, doesn't sound dated at all like some 80's metal. Doomy but fast enough not to be boring. Would have posted a vid but they've been disabled. Bastards. Cool album though. Highly recommended.

Yup. I reckon PWYP is their best but all their albums are solid.
Here's a classic metal album, Practice What You Preach - Testament.

I just wanted to add this video to prove a point. I understand that this was probably recorded by the venue, not the band. But there are obviously pro-recorded concerts of Judas Priest during their best tour ever, so why the fuck are we still waiting for a live dvd or cd to come out for this tour? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYvJvBFjdX0

Black Rain is downtuned and it sounds nothing like an OZZY album should sound like.Gone are the tinny uptuned guitars that even were present on the 1988 No Rest For The Wicked album. Now with Black Rain the riffs and guitar sound sucks and it doesn't sound like solo OZZY.It sounds like Zack's band with Ozzy on vocals. Thats just my outake on it,not trying to bash you individualy for liking the album, sorry if it bummed you out for doing so lol! No worries.

Since they've been mentioned a fair bit on other threads of late, I'm picking this one
The gem that got me through GCSE art- being the only one in my class without a ipod at that point (they hadn't been around long then) I just had this, DF's Sonic Firestorm and the Kerrang Best of 2005 on a little CD player constantly in the school art room (where I spent most mornings before registration and lunchtimes, trying to catch up on all the coursework I hadn't done in my first GSCE year!) This music saved my sanity!
