Man, I have to chime in here as well. Like HRMG, I am not angry in the least but I do have to agree that Hammond was one of the greatest shows I have seen Priest play in several tours. Rob was so "on" that night that it made me wonder if he could even come close in Detroit. Damned if he didn't do it!
Hammond left me speechless (and voiceless). Despite the sold-out crowd there you could clearly hear Rob without a microphone and an entire crowd chiming in for BTL. It was nothing short of amazing. Detroit the following night? I was 13th row floor, center and was floored when he did it a second time. I even found Glenn to be more into it as he was jumping around more than the previous night.
Can't comment on Ohio but I stand by my comments about Hammond and Detroit 100%. Listened to some of my videos last night but damned if Rob didn't blow out the top-end of the mic! Could it have been them boosting the audio volume? Not when you can jump up and almost touch the Metal God's boot! Didn't have a thing to do with it. The man (and BAND) was simply out of this world.
Not to say that your opinion is wrong but I was and am still in awe of the shows I attended.

just not up to par with past performances. This is why I said they are picking the right time to go out. They can
still do it, just not as well. I also like the Priest "sound" and as good as Ritchie is, and I said he's fantastic, he
changes their sound. I didn't say he ruined it, just changes it, and I said that's a little tough for (me). I was on
the side with a perfect view and I was watching Rob intently. I don't think he was that great. I hated the way
they amplified his highs to improve them and I can't believe none of you noticed that. I'm used to negativity here
so I'm sure I'll get more. Sorry for giving my opinion. I guess if it's not candy coated you guys don't want to hear it.
I know what I've seen in the past and last night was not as good as that. Being my least favorite Priest doesn't
mean it sucked, it just means their best is behind them. Agree or not that's how I see it. I'll post more videos if

I thought it was a great show, certainly better than the nost tour, or the reunion tour. the painkiller tour was a long time ago, hard to remember and I was on the floor with beter sound, at my first ever concert. I didnt think rob was perfect, any of the 4 can miss a note here and there, but heck the intro to turbo is buggered up in the priest live album. missed notes, either vocal or thru a stringed instrument happen. musical perfection is not what creates a great show, and they created a great show. thats my take on it.

I'm not getting angry Budred, you are entitled to your opinion but don't expect me to agree with it and keep quiet and let everyone believe that Rob didn't sound that great in Cleveland when I feel that he was AWESOME! I'm not sugar coating anything and I don't suck up to people and say things that are untrue. I was very close to the stage for all 3 shows, (3rd row Hammond where the stage was within reaching distance of the rail, front row center in Detroit and 2nd row center in Cleveland) and let me tell you, I could hear Rob singing WITHOUT the mic! He sang directly in front of me many times. His voice is so strong, that I could hear him singing Breakin' The Law! I remember an interview once of one of his bandmates that said that they were at sound check and Rob's mic wasn't working but Rob sang anyway and they could still HEAR him over the music. I really didn't think that was possible until this weekend because I heard it FOR MYSELF! He left the mic turned to the audience and paced the stage and I could still hear him singing. I talked to many people after each show and every single one of them was blown away by Rob's voice and said it was the best they had heard in YEARS. So you have your opinion and I have mine. I don't expect perfection, so if he blows a note - it's no big deal to me.

There was only praise and a lot of holy shit's that was AWESOME, the best I've heard him since the '80s, etc. I also didn't know if Rob could perform that well in Detroit after absolutely KILLING IT in Hammond the night before, but holy hell, he NAILED IT AGAIN!! The entire band KILLED IT both nights! In Cleveland, Glenn wasn't jumping around quite as much, but he was still giving an incredible performance. Ian was strong as always, Scott blew me away as he always does and Richie really did a fantastic job. And if you decided to not go see them, well, I THANK YOU because I was able to get closer seats! HA!

I would have fell on my knees to worship had the DT people not crammed the seats so tight that my knees hit the seats in front of me while seated and the back of my knees took a beating when I stood. My knees were spent. lol They could have eased up a bit on the spacing. I had to stand on my seat to let anyone pass.

Ha, we had two guys move in on our row before the priest set which had me standing in my seat for a bit just to fix the problem that they were lacking one seat. I knew the fan they would be standing next to on their right was die hard, and I knew I was going to rock out on their left side. They apparently were not the diehard fans they thought they were because they up and moved four songs into the show.
You sure didn't hear me and Flora crying about it! We got to move down where shorter people stood and have a much better view! When I read Bud's review, I had to wonder what planet he saw them on. The two shows I saw were just musicianship wise off the FUCKIN' HOOK! Rob is still the most awesome metal singer in the world! I just don't know where he formed that negative opinion? I was completely blown away by the shows!
I heard a couple of old timers the next morning talking about the Turbo show and Defenders being the most visual stunning sets and they were only impressed by the Pyros. I had to speak up and remind them that times have changed and bands don't make as much from album/CD sales as they used to so expecting some metal monster was not in the cards for Priest, nor most bands these days. In the back of my mind I was only thinking, you ingratful bastards.

I would like to explain a few of my comments because my review may sound a little more critical than intended.
When I said it may me time to step away it's not because I thought they sucked. It's just so obvious the quality of
their live performance is starting to slip. They put on a decent show but nothing like what I've become accustomed
to over the years. I would rather see them go out while they do sound decent rather than embarass themselve when
they don't. Also, Rob didn't sound that bad, he justs seems to be struggling in areas that make his performance sound
a little less than top notch. I'll post some videos and you'll see they weren't too bad. I just had trouble getting excited
after hearing them sound so much better in the past. Richie is a fantastic guitar player and a good addition to Priest
but he makes them sound different and that's a little tough for me. My videos would have been awesome but they
caught me taping Zakk Wylde and told me cameras only. I moved further to the back for the first 6 songs of Priest
so I could tape. Then I went back to my seat. I stand by my least favorite show comment, it really was. Not bad, but
not Priest at their best. I'll post some videos in a day or two. Peace!

I went to the Cleveland show last night. I liked the concert but I think they are picking the right time
to quit touring. I've seen Priest many times and last night was probably my least favorite of them. The first
tour with Ripper I didn't care for because of the overall sound. I saw them in Cincinnatti on A.O.R. and the
volume was too low so that one wasn't great either but the show last night was just lacking in quality. I think
the band sounded OK, it was Rob I didn't care for. I thought he struggled too much. On his highs he did OK
but they would amplify his voice each time he screamed to make it sound like his highs were better than they
were. I saw people around me laughing when he tried some of those. I'm not here to rip these guys so I'll
keep this short and not too mean. They did OK and I have some videos that aren't too bad but I think this would
be my last time seeing them even if they didn't quit touring. Richie is a great guitar player but they definitely
miss KK. He's not even close to the same. Lastly, yes I bought one of those 35 dollar tees. That will be my last
of those also. Anyone that hasn't seen Priest may like the current show but to those that have seen the Priest,
you've already seen the best they have to offer. I wasn't even sad at the end. I think it's time they hang it up.
I would have been so much happier if British Steel would have been the last tour. It was great. Peace all.

-The Judas Priest concert on Thursday in St. Louis (11/10/2011) was absolutely amazing! -I went to this show with some reservations due to KK Downing abruptly retiring. I never thought that this younger gent (Ritchie) could have bested or replaced what KK had done on rhythm guitar since 1974. -My was I surprised! Ritchie was unique on rhythm guitar because he did his thing and didn�t spend the evening copying KK�s signature solos and rhythms. -Thin Lizzy opened and was quite good, came on at 5:45pm as billed. Shame Phil Lennot wasn�t there� Enjoyed Jailbreak, Boys are Back in Town and Cowboy Song! Timeless music� -Zakk Wylde�s Black Label Society played in the middle before PRIEST. BLS was mediocre at best. Great riffs at points, but we sat on stage left in the front lower part of the lower level which added to not being able to hear the full PA mix the best at points. Zakk is truly a egomaniac and spent the bulk of the night showing off and doing countless lead solos. We could only hear his lyrics/singing clearly on one song- Bow Down� That song rocked, but overall they badly need a SINGER!!! -Judas Priest came out and played a lengthy 2 hour and 20 minute show�..one that I�ll never forget!!! -Between some of the later songs in their set, the band members other than Halford would go get a quick drink while Halford explained to the crowd about the background of the upcoming song. Most of the latter songs had a backdrop/banner with the LP cover of the track to be played -I cannot believe how intense Halford�s voice still is!!! -The �new� drummer(1990 on) has exceeded all expectations -Ritchie on rhythm guitar (the newest addition, for this tour) truly blew me away. His solos did not mimic KK Downing�s, but were his own take on these timeless riffs -Glen Tipton again proved why he is one of the best guitarists ever in rock history -Ian Hill on bass did things I�d never seen him do. He really threw his bass around and emphasized notes like never before -All in all, Judas Priest has done more than I ever could believe. I got into this group in 1976-77 courtesy of an older friend of mine in Hays, KS, the rest is history!!! -Being around since 1974 thru the present says it all, countless great LP�s which we now now as CD�s. My, have the times changed? Or have they??? Love that JUDAS PRIEST!!! The boys from Birmingam, England�
-Priest opened their show with- Battle Hymn (pre recorded) into Rapid Fire (classic track from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / Great opener! Show is off to a great start� Halford bellows �Pounding the World, like a BATTERING RAM!) -Next was: -Metal Gods (Another rocker from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / Halford�s voice was strong, crowd went nuts!) -Heading Out to the Highway (from �Point of Entry� LP- 1981 / always a rousing number, very well done) -Judas Rising (from 2005�s �Angel of Retribution� CD / intensely done, Ritchie is proving to be a player) -Starbreaker (From �Sin After Sin� LP- 1977 / WOW! The band had stars flying across the large video screen as they performed, made me wanna take off to outer space! LOVED this track, never thought I�d see it live�) -Victim of Changes (Taken from the 1976 classic LP- �Sad Wings of Destiny�. This is always an amazing track live. Ritchie did his rhythm parts very well. Tipton blew the crowd away with his amazing lead guitar solos and riffs) -Never Satisfied (a gem from the 1st LP- �Rocka Rolla� from 1974. Great grind, riffs to never forget! Very well done�LOVED it!!!) -Diamonds & Rust (Cover of the classic Joan Baez folk song from their 1st LP- �Rocka Rolla�- 1974 . Ritchie played acoustic at first, somewhat rough of a start on his part. Glen Tipton played electric all the way thru. As the band progressed away from acoustic back to the heavy part, Ritchie and crew absolutely floored the crowd with their amazing POWER and intensity!!! Superb version of this all time classic�) -Dawn Of Creation (intro into) Prophecy (a couple of interesting tracks from the latest CD- �Nostradamus�- 2008, the 2 disc concept album. Halford was dressed up in a bizarre bright hooded outfit as he hollered out- �I am Nostradamus��) -Night Crawler (from 1990�s speed metal album �Painkiller�. Was somewhat surprised they played this again like they had in 2008, but as Halford says- �Beware the Beast in Black!�) -Turbo Lover (Great, driving song from the unique �Turbo� album from 1986. Strong rendition, made me wanna strap on the seat belt and burn rubber!) -Beyond the Realms of Death (Taken from the 1978 LP- �Stained Class�. Another of the classic �melodramatic� pieces by this group. Love the mellow to intense progression of this piece! Very powerful version, Halford blew the crowd away as always�). -The Sentinel (taken from 1984�s �Defenders of the Faith� LP. This track is taken from the tour that was my 1st JP show at Sandstone Amp. in KC on 7/15/84 which was my 16th birthday. What a show THAT was! Still loving this group 30 years later!!! This song has such a memorable sound/riff, very good version, Tipton ROCKED!!!) -Blood Red Skies (taken from �Ram It Down�- 1988 / Great mellow intro with a bright red laser beam that hovered over the crowd to emphasize the title. Then the �cybernetic heartbeat��.) -The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown) (Taken from the 1979 LP- �Hell Bent for Leather� / Great ROCKIN� version. Another example of why Judas Priest live are one of the finest hard rocks groups ever!). -Breaking the Law (from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / �Breakin� the WHAT?� I would have preferred The SINNER in it�s place but this is one of their best known tracks. Well done, good crowd interaction) -Drum solo (Scott Travis) into- Painkiller (from 1990�s �Painkiller� CD / Good drum solo by Travis, the drummer that took over in 199o. Solo sequed into Painkiller� Rob Halford simply punished the crowd at points with his amazing high octave screams. His final note about blew my eardrums out. Man, this guy is as good now, in most cases, as he was 20 years ago. GREAT version, this band is absolutely on fire!!!) Encore 1: -The Hellion(recorded intro) into - Electric Eye (taken from the 1982 LP- �Screaming for Vengeance� / This album was given to me along with the new Iron Maiden LP (# of the Beast) back in 1982, what a gift! Halford�s timeless lyrics say it all- �Up Here in Space, I�m Looking Down On YOU�.!� Awesome version, usually done as a set opener, great rendition, timeless band!!! -Hell Bent for Leather (Title track from the 1979 LP / Halford rides out in full leather on his Harley as he revs up the engine to the crowds delight. Drummer, guitars all join in the madness of the LOUD intro as the Harley roars, then the band screams out another Hell Bent ANTHEM�). -You've Got Another Thing Comin' (from �Screaming for Vengeance� / Hard to believe that the eve is almost over. My neck is sore by this stage from headbanging like a teen! Girl behind me grabbed my bottom, thought I was in for an interesting eve being that her hubby was by her� My neighbors behind me were all high fivin� throughout the eve, truly a remarkable performance) -Encore 2: -Living After Midnight (from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / Scott Travis, the drummer comes back out first and prods the crowd to make some NOISE!!! -The Judas Priest concert on Thursday in St. Louis (11/10/2011) was absolutely amazing! -I went to this show with some reservations due to KK Downing abruptly retiring. I never thought that this younger gent (Ritchie) could have bested or replaced what KK had done on rhythm guitar since 1974. -My was I surprised! Ritchie was unique on rhythm guitar because he did his thing and didn�t spend the evening copying KK�s signature solos and rhythms. -Thin Lizzy opened and was quite good, came on at 5:45pm as billed. Shame Phil Lennot wasn�t there� Enjoyed Jailbreak, Boys are Back in Town and Cowboy Song! Timeless music� -Zakk Wylde�s Black Label Society played in the middle before PRIEST. BLS was mediocre at best. Great riffs at points, but we sat on stage left in the front lower part of the lower level which added to not being able to hear the full PA mix the best at points. Zakk is truly a egomaniac and spent the bulk of the night showing off and doing countless lead solos. We could only hear his lyrics/singing clearly on one song- Bow Down� That song rocked, but overall they badly need a SINGER!!! -Judas Priest came out and played a lengthy 2 hour and 20 minute show�..one that I�ll never forget!!! -Between some of the later songs in their set, the band members other than Halford would go get a quick drink while Halford explained to the crowd about the background of the upcoming song. Most of the latter songs had a backdrop/banner with the LP cover of the track to be played -I cannot believe how intense Halford�s voice still is!!! -The �new� drummer(1990 on) has exceeded all expectations -Ritchie on rhythm guitar (the newest addition, for this tour) truly blew me away. His solos did not mimic KK Downing�s, but were his own take on these timeless riffs -Glen Tipton again proved why he is one of the best guitarists ever in rock history -Ian Hill on bass did things I�d never seen him do. He really threw his bass around and emphasized notes like never before -All in all, Judas Priest has done more than I ever could believe. I got into this group in 1976-77 courtesy of an older friend of mine in Hays, KS, the rest is history!!! -Being around since 1974 thru the present says it all, countless great LP�s which we now now as CD�s. My, have the times changed? Or have they??? Love that JUDAS PRIEST!!! The boys from Birmingam, England�
-Priest opened their show with- Battle Hymn (pre recorded) into Rapid Fire (classic track from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / Great opener! Show is off to a great start� Halford bellows �Pounding the World, like a BATTERING RAM!) -Next was: -Metal Gods (Another rocker from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / Halford�s voice was strong, crowd went nuts!) -Heading Out to the Highway (from �Point of Entry� LP- 1981 / always a rousing number, very well done) -Judas Rising (from 2005�s �Angel of Retribution� CD / intensely done, Ritchie is proving to be a player) -Starbreaker (From �Sin After Sin� LP- 1977 / WOW! The band had stars flying across the large video screen as they performed, made me wanna take off to outer space! LOVED this track, never thought I�d see it live�) -Victim of Changes (Taken from the 1976 classic LP- �Sad Wings of Destiny�. This is always an amazing track live. Ritchie did his rhythm parts very well. Tipton blew the crowd away with his amazing lead guitar solos and riffs) -Never Satisfied (a gem from the 1st LP- �Rocka Rolla� from 1974. Great grind, riffs to never forget! Very well done�LOVED it!!!) -Diamonds & Rust (Cover of the classic Joan Baez folk song from their 1st LP- �Rocka Rolla�- 1974 . Ritchie played acoustic at first, somewhat rough of a start on his part. Glen Tipton played electric all the way thru. As the band progressed away from acoustic back to the heavy part, Ritchie and crew absolutely floored the crowd with their amazing POWER and intensity!!! Superb version of this all time classic�) -Dawn Of Creation (intro into) Prophecy (a couple of interesting tracks from the latest CD- �Nostradamus�- 2008, the 2 disc concept album. Halford was dressed up in a bizarre bright hooded outfit as he hollered out- �I am Nostradamus��) -Night Crawler (from 1990�s speed metal album �Painkiller�. Was somewhat surprised they played this again like they had in 2008, but as Halford says- �Beware the Beast in Black!�) -Turbo Lover (Great, driving song from the unique �Turbo� album from 1986. Strong rendition, made me wanna strap on the seat belt and burn rubber!) -Beyond the Realms of Death (Taken from the 1978 LP- �Stained Class�. Another of the classic �melodramatic� pieces by this group. Love the mellow to intense progression of this piece! Very powerful version, Halford blew the crowd away as always�). -The Sentinel (taken from 1984�s �Defenders of the Faith� LP. This track is taken from the tour that was my 1st JP show at Sandstone Amp. in KC on 7/15/84 which was my 16th birthday. What a show THAT was! Still loving this group 30 years later!!! This song has such a memorable sound/riff, very good version, Tipton ROCKED!!!) -Blood Red Skies (taken from �Ram It Down�- 1988 / Great mellow intro with a bright red laser beam that hovered over the crowd to emphasize the title. Then the �cybernetic heartbeat��.) -The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown) (Taken from the 1979 LP- �Hell Bent for Leather� / Great ROCKIN� version. Another example of why Judas Priest live are one of the finest hard rocks groups ever!). -Breaking the Law (from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / �Breakin� the WHAT?� I would have preferred The SINNER in it�s place but this is one of their best known tracks. Well done, good crowd interaction) -Drum solo (Scott Travis) into- Painkiller (from 1990�s �Painkiller� CD / Good drum solo by Travis, the drummer that took over in 199o. Solo sequed into Painkiller� Rob Halford simply punished the crowd at points with his amazing high octave screams. His final note about blew my eardrums out. Man, this guy is as good now, in most cases, as he was 20 years ago. GREAT version, this band is absolutely on fire!!!) Encore 1: -The Hellion(recorded intro) into - Electric Eye (taken from the 1982 LP- �Screaming for Vengeance� / This album was given to me along with the new Iron Maiden LP (# of the Beast) back in 1982, what a gift! Halford�s timeless lyrics say it all- �Up Here in Space, I�m Looking Down On YOU�.!� Awesome version, usually done as a set opener, great rendition, timeless band!!! -Hell Bent for Leather (Title track from the 1979 LP / Halford rides out in full leather on his Harley as he revs up the engine to the crowds delight. Drummer, guitars all join in the madness of the LOUD intro as the Harley roars, then the band screams out another Hell Bent ANTHEM�). -You've Got Another Thing Comin' (from �Screaming for Vengeance� / Hard to believe that the eve is almost over. My neck is sore by this stage from headbanging like a teen! Girl behind me grabbed my bottom, thought I was in for an interesting eve being that her hubby was by her� My neighbors behind me were all high fivin� throughout the eve, truly a remarkable performance) -Encore 2: -Living After Midnight (from 1980�s �British Steel� LP / Scott Travis, the drummer comes back out first and prods the crowd to make some NOISE!!! For a final encore I will have to say that this band is truly going out in style. Truly a remarkable performance, not bad for a bunch of guys in there late 50�s/early 60�s!!!)

Hot Rockin Metal Goddess........great review, when Rob sang Beyond the Realms of Death.....my draw dropped. He stood over us dripping with sweat. It was so cool how he was collecting himself during Glenn's solo. Pure awesomeness (is that a word?).
