EXACTLY HB...JUST ANOTHER COVERUP OF A DIRTY STAR-POWERED ATHLETE,SO NO ONE SHOULD BE SURPRISED SHOULD THIS TURN OUT TO BE 100% TRUE....NO HALL FOR CLEMENS,
SOSA,McGUIRE,BONDS,AND WHAT IS SHAPING UP POSSIBLY FOR RODRIGUEZ...MAYBE IF THEY'D START HITTING THESE CHEATING ORGANIZATIONS WITH SEVERE PENALTIES...HOW ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS: IF ONE OF YOUR PLAYERS TESTS POSITIVE DURING THE SEASON,OR OFF SEASON FOR THAT MATTER,IT'S AN AUTOMATIC 10 GAME PENALTY IN THE STANDINGS,PLUS OF COUSE A HEAVY FINE! ....I MEAN CHEATING IS ALL ABOUT WINNING,SO TO GET SLAPPED 10 GAMES BACK IN THE STANDINGS WOULD GO A LONG WAY IN STOPPING THIS DOPING I THINK...

JUST WATCHED/LISTENED TO AN INTERVIEW ON TV FROM THE FAN RADIO IN TORONTO WITH
AUTHOR KIRK RADOMSKI ON HIS BOOK 'BASES LOADED'...ON THE RAMPANT ILLEGAL DRUG USE IN BASEBALL...PRETTY DAMNING STUFF...THIS GUY STATES THAT HE HAD OVER 600 CLIENTS USING THE JUICE IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER...TOO BAD BUT THE GAME IS OBVIOUSLY DIRTY FROM OWNERSHIP RIGHT DOWN THROUGH MORE THAN JUST A FEW CHEATING PLAYERS...THIS
IS NOTHING NEW,BUT I FOUND IT INTERESTING AT ONE POINT WHEN THE HOST SAID THERE ARE OF COURSE MANY,MANY PLAYERS DENYING ANY USE OF THESE DRUGS OR CONNECTION WITH RADOMSKI,RADOMSKI ADDED,HOW ODD IT WAS THAT NOT ONE PLAYER HAS TAKEN LEGAL ACTION AGAINST HIM....EXACTLY!...ALTHOUGH DON'T THINK FOR ONE MINUTE I ADMIRE THIS GUY...NO,NO,NO...THE ONLY REASON THIS IS HAPPENING IS BECAUSE ONE MORNING HE AWOKE TO HIS HOME BEING SURROUNDED BY FEDERAL AGENTS...AND AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED,HE'S NOTHING MORE THAN A DRUG DEALER ...NEVERMIND THE 'PROFESSIONAL' CHEATS,I WONDER HOW MANY TEENAGERS HE STARTED DOWN THIS PATH FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL PROFIT...

No doubt...the Cards had to be the underdog of underdogs from the Wildcard round on...just goes to show that all you have to do is make it to the playoffs, it's a crap shoot after that...I feel your pain man, the Cards had their division wrapped up with a few weeks to go, their division was horrible...but that offense is real good, their defense was their bane this yaer and even they stepped it up come playoffs...I thought some of the calls were iffy as well, but I'll let that die as it happend to both teams...the game did keep me in my seat 'til time expired...I guess, seeing as our teams weren't in it, that's all we could have really asked for...

True.  People love a close game, although the score did not really reflect the tone of the game.  I thought the refs got involved a little too much.  Some of those penalties, on both sides, were kind of cheap.  Being that my team is the Patriots, I've had a rough year.  Lame call costs the Super Bowl and then we crush the Cardinals and can't even get into the playoffs with an 11 - 5 record.  Hard to take from an 8 - 8 team.

...if Warner doesn't throw an interception at the half, even if they only get a field goal...that's a 10 point swing and there is no final drive...it was a very entertaing game regardless...good offense and defense...and plenty of personal fouls for everyone!!!

What? There was another game today? Not the replay of Nadal vs. Federer? No. 1 vs. 2 in tennis?

What a conflict of interest. Couldn't pass up the replay of their final but also didn't want to miss the commercials in a game that didn't interest me much with a buddy who didn't make the Pitt spread. Finally had to cave and look at what happened to Federer. Not about to miss good comercials on a 6-2 final set. ARGH!

I only assume Serena won. Why are there such strange hours in Australia? Come on, DC, have them fix that, would'ja? I simply can't start watching tennis at 3am here. Especially a five set / 5 hour match.
[TIMBONI] Sunday, February 01, 2009 10:29:47 PM
I have to say that I watched this game under protest.  I can't believe the Cardinals even got into the playoffs with the record they had.  The Steelers played like crap and were lucky to pull it out.  That score should have been 35 -14 or something like that.  That's what happens when my boys get left out of the playoffs with an 11 -5 record after totally destroying the Cardinals 47 - 7 !
[ron h] Sunday, February 01, 2009 10:17:02 PM
Lana...if you're ou there...I want to congratulate you on your Steelers big win!!!  You've had quite a run of it lately!!!

...and that goes for you too, DPK and all the other Steelers fans out there...

...Cardinals gave them one helluva game...my hats off to Arizona as well...

The following article is from the "High and Inside" column in today's Philadelphia Daily News.  Any and all comments are welcome of course.

Oh no, T.O.

THIS IS SHAPING up as the winter of our discontent.

Last week, we reported that former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin will host a reality show. Yesterday, we got word that current Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens will also have one.

The "Terrell Owens Project" will be taped in the offseason and debut this summer on VH1.

A VH1 blog entry describe ths show thusly:

"In the series, T.O. will be shadowed in the offseason by his best friends and publicists Monique Jackson and Kita Williams as they battle the two sides of his large personality. Viewers will discover that behind all the braggadocio, emotional histrionics, and sculpted physique that is the outspoken media magnet known to the world as T.O. - there is also a quiet, sensitive, mild-mannered guy from Alexander City, Ala. . . . that's Terrell."

Two things. One: We're going to be sick.

Two: We've already seen Owens' act - lots of bickering and childish behavior, although the pushups in his driveway were kind of funny.

Parent's comment to Lidge is legendary

At the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association banquet last night, former Flyers goalie Bernie Parent, who received the Living Legend award, met up with Phillies closer Brad Lidge, who was named Outstanding Pro Athlete.

Parent said to Lidge: "You had 48 saves this season. I used to have 48 saves every night."

Parent then gave Lidge a banner that was a takeoff of an old Parent bumper sticker. The banner read: "Only the Lord saves more than Brad."

Forsberg may play, or not

The Flyers aren't the only ones waiting to see if Peter Forsberg is fit to play. Sweden coach Bengt-Ake Gustafsson said yesterday he contacted Forsberg and asked him to play in the LG Hockey Games, which begin Feb. 5. Gustafsson said Forsberg, who has had an ongoing problem with his right foot, will give him an answer by Friday.

Don't hold your breath, coach. *

FINALLY closed the roof of that damn court today. Just helped Serena Williams out of Hell's kitchen!

Why couldn't they close it yesterday? Who knows. I think they didn't like Djokovic.

Wow, just saw the recap. 142 degrees F / 61.1 C when Djokovic retired. Crap, I'd have heatstroke in one volley.

Ahhh..the Scot! She probably turned on her old crush when he went against the crowd in one of hte majors last year. She'll know what I am talking about.

Nope. Tell her to save the farm. She should have bet on his older brother. One of the greats of doubles.
Sadly, ol' Andy doesn't doesn't have a snowball chance. Federer or undie puller, Blake and others will rip him apart.

Spoke to Mom.  She says, "hi" back.  Told me to let you know she's got a new tennis interest this season (she's grown fickle), a player named Andy Murray(?).  Should I tell her to keep ahold of her social security check, or go ahead and wager on him?  lol

No, your mom DIDN'T like Rafa Nadal as he has one big Popeye arm and he always has to pull his undies out of his crack before every serve.

She liked "hot looking Serb," Djokovic. He won his match as well, btw. Tell mom I said hi!

Gasquet and Gonzalez are just having a KILLER match!

Nadal seems to be rolling along as well, in case you were interested.

Yes...and the lore of Joe Namath begins...the biggets difference being the # of playoff games that need to be won to get to the Super Bowl (3 in the case of the Cards) as compared to when Namath played...and I'm an NFC guy myself, so that's yet another reason for me to pull for them!!

COULD BE, BUT IN 1969 THE JETS BEAT THE BALTIMORE COLTS AND IN BASEBALL THAT SAME YEAR THE METS BEAT THE BALTIMORE ORIOLES. I THINK BOTH WERE 100-1 LONGSHOTS.

I FELT BAD FOR BALTIMORE. TWO OF THE MOST DOMINATE TEAMS IN ALL OF SPORTS EXPECTED TO WIN TITLES, LOST TO NOBODIES. BUT I DIDN'T FEEL BAD FOR TOO LONG.

BACK THEN AFC TEAMS WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BEAT NFC TEAMS.

who would have thought??  aren't the Cards the underdog of all underdogs??  I must root for them for that reason alone!!

YESS! YEES! That is what everyone is saying here!!
The Vikes can't just rely on Peterson, and we defininetly need a quarterback, which is ultimately the one thing holding them back from a good season..

And on the other side, they have announced that Childress and his coaching staff will be back next season.. So they have some time to get that offense together.

EAGLES 26, Vikings 14
Stop Adrian Peterson and you will stop the Vikings offense.  Note to Vikes coach Brad Childress: Step 1 - Get a QB who can make plays!  Step 2 - Get another offensive weapon so that defenses can't just key on Adrian Peterson!
