Yes I do Freeze,that is EXACTLY what it is and its a fuckin "sell-out". If a band has to wear rap artist's clothing to sell "heavy metal" then the
point of creating a heavy metal band is invalid......whats the point? The music NEVER turns out anything close to heavy metal anyways as you
know Freeze....its a lost cause and I hate these stupid kids of today that don't think that metal aesthetics are important....they ARE important
and if anybody says differently than they are truely fooling themselves. Rob and the boys didn't create this image just for themselves...they are
proud that true metal bands wear true metal aesthetics. ...the rest of the bands that don't...they are simply "nice" to them because they are
profesionals. But going back to what you said Freeze...yeah they wear this image 9 times out of 10 cause thier manager tells them to.

You know something JD, I have been thinking about that. I wonder how many of these bands go with that look as a result of a promoter or management decision? I mean, it is obviously an attempt to "cross over" or add appeal to get the younger generation to buy their music. Same goes for adding rap or rap stylings to their "Metal" music. All marketing from what I can see. You think that has something to do with it?

| I have never heard any credible account of him singing oprea,however in his pre priest days he did work in theater and im sure his pipes would have enabled him to excel at opera. Halford has always been a dramatic performer and in fact one of his very favorite singers is FRANK SINATRA who halford does a good impression of. also,my earliest memories of halford back in the early 80s,is how in interviews he always spoke of metal in eloquent and dignified terms. like a true ambassador,he regarded metal as a high art form. while other rockers were talking about how many jack daniels bottles they could insert into a groupie, halford was saying things like"i like to take metal to every country on earth". as a kid,that always struck a chord with me,his dedication to heavy metal. |

Rob is my favourite vocalist ever, such range and power, puts shivers down my spine! I love the way that he belts out those high notes, but he's not really screaming, he is still singing!
I'd also like to add that he aint half bad looking either in the younger days mostly LOL bring on one month/enough respect points to join in on the sinful thread and the other great threads I am locked out of at the mo lol. |

| The last time I was on this site was just after Angels of Retribution came out and I loved it, but I did think that Rob was vocally suffering, now, I have Nostradamus, I can definitely say that he is back to his best. Awesome album and haven't stopped playing it since I got it a couple of day's ago. Diverse is the word I would use to descibe this effort. A masterpiece of work. It reminds me a little of Enigma. All you need is a monk in the background and you could say they were joined. I'm hoping to see the boys in Paris in March or in England in February. the last time I saw them was the Screamin' for Vengence tour just as Defenders of the Faith was about to be released. Can't wait. |
