got thrashed with beer from parties back in the day!!! lol!  I wish I had a connection like that back then.....it was cool to have album  sized pictures

Nice!

From the Guido private collection...I had a buddy of mine who worked in a record store and would give me all the promo stuff that interested me when it came out or when the store was finished with it. Check it out. Notice the tape marks (all proudly posted on my walls) as well as what I still put in the center. King Diamond didn't have anything on the back, BTW.

Well, it seems I can't correct my image c/p functions, so there will be no pic of this albun cover

However, my Classic Metal Album for today is ACDC...HIGH VOLTAGE  International version

1. It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)

2. Rock 'n' Roll Singer

3. The Jack

4. Live Wire

5.T.N.T.

6. Can I Sit With You Girl

7. Little Lover

8. She's Got Balls

9. High Voltage

Tracks 1-6 & 9 were previously released on the bands second Austrailian studio album T.N.T

Tracks 7 & 8 were previously released on the band's first Australian studio album High Voltage

This is probably my favorite ACDC album, though I like most all of them...this was my intro to this awesome band

Looking back (though admittedly not very far back), this may be the album which got me into the metal scene-

A friend who regrettably is no longer a friend played me Soldiers of the Wasteland and I was hooked. I went and bought it then looked them up- which was when I found that they had toured with Iron Maiden, thought that I really should own some Maiden, got their greatest hits, from there only a short step to Priest..... the rest is history.

Many people seem to have an axe to grind against Dragonforce, well, I don't care. I've been to see them four times and I know what a great live band they can be, plus I've met Sam Totman and he seemed a nice guy- I was totally tongue-tied but he was cool with it and for that I've defended him several times since against people who've called him a drunk poser etc. Bring on the next tour! (I already have tickets).

Thanks for supporting me on this particular album guys!!!  Was waiting for J.D. to swoop in here and give me a lesson on Classic Metal Thanks for waiting this one out J.D.

Guido...Live Wire was a really cool album as well, but I hadn't heard of it 'til after Shout at the Devil...but it's better than the rest of Crues body of work as well...I thought Crue was gonna go on to some really good Metal 'til I gave Theater of Pain a listen, and it pretty much went downhill for me after that...Thanks again guys

I'll support that limb, Ron. The very FIRST CD I ever bought. Had it on LP and cassette first, of course.

Having recently come back from Detroit where I went out with the buddy who first showed me that album back in high school, I laugh when thinking about my comment: "wow, and the group has a metal chick too! Cool!" His response? "Uh...that is a guy!" = Vince. HAAAAA!!!!!!! Still love it!

They also had a few other songs from other albums that I liked ("Live Wire" for example) but you are right...this album just rocked. "10 Seconds to Love!" LOL!

[ron h] Saturday, August 08, 2009 8:40:52 PM
Normally, I wouldn't go out on a limb like this...but I have to admit that I really got into this particular album!!  The rest of their body of work doesn't really fit this thread, but I am of the opinion that this is a Classic Metal album.  Relseased in '83, it comes in a little late for the start of this movement, and I would consider these guys a Glam Metal band...but with cuts like Shout at the Devil, Bastard, Knock 'em Dead, Kid and 10 Seconds to Love...that's some pretty good early 80's Metal from a band that wouldn't cut another album that I would even remotely consider posting in this thread....but for this 1 album...

This album kicks ass and is a perfect example of Classic Motorhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go as far as saying that Inferno may be Motorhead's best record!!

  1.Terminal Show
  2.Killers
  3.In The Name Of Tragedy
  4.Suicide
  5.Life's A Bitch
  6.Down On Me
  7.In The Black
  8.Fight
9.In The Year Of The Wolf
10.Keys To The Kingdom
11.Smiling Like A Killer
12.Whorehouse Blues

Out of 19 studio albums Motorhead has only 2 that are under-par-quality albums in my opinion........1983"Another Perfect Day" and 1992's "March Or Die".

Classic Ripper Era Judas Priest

[Sinner Rider] Friday, July 31, 2009 1:02:16 PM
LOL!! I agree the guitar work is amazing.. dimebag was before his time with Pantera..

I think that both of them are bootlegs, They are both cd's copyrighted but I still think they are bootlegs. I have "cowboys from hell" on vinyl, I picked that one up at gargae sale for a dollar.
I could sell them, still make good money for them but I refuse. I was huge into Pantera through out high school and I have collected a ton of rare items over the years.. I just can't find myself to rid of them! I have a huge wall size poster of phil from the vulgar tour that I seen going on ebay for a starting bid of 75,  I think it sold for over a hundred.

Hey.. if your metal head these things mean a lot. My priest shrine in my basement is my prized items. LOL! I have all the vinyl's and tapes and cd's....

I know... I have too much shit! Thank god I have huge house!

I have never heard metal magic, crazy.. I'm all ears though. thank you

the one for today...it isn't my favorite but it's a very good one!

[Craig Wagenhoffer] Thursday, July 30, 2009 7:37:59 PM

I've heard all four of them. The oldest one, "Metal Magic" (1983), is lukewarm at best IMO. Believe it or not, but it's actually a bit too glammy for my likings. It's very soft. The sound quality isn't very spectacular either. But hey, Dimebag was only 17 when they released this thing. "Projects In The Jungle" (1984) is ten times better and is quite an enjoyable heavy metal album. "I Am The Night" (1985) does not sound like it's two predecessors. It sounds more like a glam/power metal album. It's definitely not as good as "Power Metal" (1988), but I don't think it's crap though. The lyrics are cheesy to say the least, but Dimebag's guitar playing on that album is beyond incredible. The song "Cum On Eyes" (LOL!) is a very good example of that. I know J.D. will beat me to a pulp, but I'm going to post it anyway. Just as an example of course. Here you go:

The lyrics are cheesy as hell. Pantera took the term "glam metal" to the extreme with this song, but Dimebag's guitar playing blows me away. Holy shit! Three jaw-dropping guitar solos in a row! He was only 19 years old back then. What a far cry from his guitar playing on "Cowboys From Hell" and on "Vulgar Display Of Power".

Do you have "I Am The Night" and "Power Metal" as bootlegs? Or do you have the vinyl versions. Those versions sometimes sell for over $ 100 on Ebay. I downloaded them from the web. I don't know what's wrong with the recording of "Power Metal" though. The sound quality is similar to all the other CD's I bought during the late eighties.

Yeah thats exactly what I was going to say about thier earlier releases.....the band denys those albums as if they never recorded them at all!  Even if those albums are not as good as later Pantera albums
they should of at least put those albums on thier website....that is pretty lame I agree. Its like they were trying to "hide" those albums from everybody! lol!

[Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Craig Wagenhoffer from Thursday, July 30, 2009 10:38:15 AM)
[Craig Wagenhoffer] Thursday, July 30, 2009 10:38:15 AM

That's true, J.D. Pantera released four albums during the eighties and I think these albums are way better than anything Pantera released during the depressing nineties. But you know what's really funny? These classic albums are nowhere to be seen in the discography section of the official Pantera website. How silly is that? The first album that is listed on there is indeed Cowboys From Hell. You can not even buy those classic albums. They are only available on bootlegs. The members of Pantera simply deny their existence. That's really lame, because I think three of those four albums are great. Especially "Power Metal". "Projects In The Jungle", released in 1984, is quite good too. Think of Iron Maiden's "Powerslave" meets Judas Priest's "Defenders Of The Faith" meets Def Leppard's "High N Dry".  [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D.
