That Bible thumping belt will get you everytime! HA! It is considered forward in the south to do those things and it took getting used to.
It went against every experience I ever had to just stand still hug and allow someone to kiss both my cheeks. It was unnatural, but i got over it. I've never had a problem giving pecks as a greeting or a farewell maybe that's why when KK gave me a peck goodbye it didn't faze me at all until later and then I was like "wow, KK kissed me"! He did it last year too during the Meet and Greets. I went to give him a hug and he just pulled me towards him and kissed me. I just think it's very natural for him and he doesn't think twice about it. | | spapad wrote: | | Most europeans do. I notice people from up north are more comfortable with kissing each other on the cheek. I guess southerners are kind of reserved. Here when two people of the opposite sex meet, the man is supposed to wait for her to stick her hand out first because it's not that uncommon to see a woman who doesn't shake hands with men. It's fine to hug relatives, but kissing is seen as a romantic gesture. I have never kissed any of my family, male or female (except my husband). I was actually a little confused last year in Vegas because I'd really never heard of a custom of kissing someone on their birthday.
I already have people asking me what I was doing wtih Judas Priest at a hotel at 2AM....can't exactly mention kissing [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Healer from Thursday, July 16, 2009 8:10:19 PM) | | Healer wrote: | | Both my parents are from Quebec and it's tradition to say hello and goodby by giving a peck on each cheek. I had him pegged as a bad boy, but no he is the nicest guy in the world! He sat down to talk to us and seemed in no hurry to get out of there even though it was 2AM and the boys had a long drive the next day. We kept offering to let him go and he wasn't ready to leave. And then when he does head off, three men turn up and go "KK!!!!" and he's like oh hi and starts all over again.

When I saw them back in Feb, I was behind some guys on the front row who'd queued for 12 hours just to get into the venue- sadly one guy was so tired/dehydrated that he started getting sick and dizzy and had to go to first aid right at the beginning of Priest's set. Hi Jeanine, thanks! The closest shows were in Minneapolis and Milwaukee. I have to wait until they come back here or announce their limited edition Nostradamus tour so I can pick one to go to. I voted Glenn & Ken for the best duel guitar team yesterday, but I can't believe Slipknot is ahead of them! Must be a lot of youngsters voting. I'm trying to get everyone here to vote Priest. In the meantime, I'm in dire need of some new photos of Glenn & the boys! I saw some amazing old photos (which I love) on the 1001 Ways thread. Loved the hair Rob! There's something warm & fuzzy about those old photos... |

Keep the amazing photos coming, since it appears I must live vicariously through your telephoto lenses! Keep the faith. |

Yeah, by the time I got to my Meet and Greet last year, I was paralyzed by hysteria about being with all of the Priest guys ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!! I positioned myself right next to Rob, all nice and cozy, and held on to his waist for dear life!!! Time seemed to stop and I was in a haze...Halfords Doll still makes fun of me!!!!! But,,, having met Priest on other occasions that were not so "formal" was entirely different. I wasn't nervous at all, especially around Scott and KK. I have met Rob before for brief moments and he, too was very relaxed and nice. |

Well actually now that I am examining those pants, there is denim under the leather. Maybe it was too hot. I would have loved to have seen Rob in all denim live. Your picture with the band turned out really great! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by spapad from Thursday, July 09, 2009 5:54:53 PM) | | spapad wrote: | | Ya know, I actually think if I just "bumped into them at a hotel or someplace I would be much more calm and much more "with it".
The waiting and waiting and beer, just made me a nervous wreak by the time I finally met them. LOL When the girl said "Time for the picture" I spun around and blurted out, "Oh my God! I'm gonna look like a geek! I hate getting my picture taken!" LOL Yes, I was a bigger idiot! LMAO! The "Sign my box" line was classic though! Something you'll never forget! | | HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS wrote: | | Hi Spa,
You aren't the only one! I did the EXACT same thing! I was in such awe of them I could barely speak. And when I did, well, it wasn't one of my finer moments! All I could get out was, "Will you sign my box?"..... Scott, I love you...... Glenn, I LOVE you...... and at that point as I was shaking Glenn's hand I thought, what the hell I already made a complete ass of myself so I hugged him - I think it took him by surprise. Then I shook Ian's hand and hugged him. Then after I got between KK and Rob for the picture I said Rob..... I LOVE YOU! Jesus, are you kidding me??? Of the millions of things I had to say to all of them, that's all that came out of my mouth? At least my husband helped me out and told Rob that "She's a life long fan!" Then I heard Rob say ooooh. I asked him for a hug and he let me hug him. OK - NOW who's pathetic? The thing is, if I met them again, I'm pretty sure the same thing would happen! DOH! I just can't help it, they are THE METAL GODS! | | spapad wrote: | | When I met KK at the meet and greet last year, I hugged eveyone but KK and Scott, I was too nervous to hug them! LOL How pathetic. | | paperflowers wrote: | | Thanks! Usually my attention to detail annoys people I think KK deserves that "nicest man in heavy metal" title. Can I keep him?
