I was quite happy earlier today when a thunderstorm rolled in from the Pacific Ocean right over this little city. I was in my apartment when I heard thunder for the first time in quite a while. Sorry to have sent you that high wind, Spa. You saw it, we got nailed too. Had the bathtub filled this time around (dumbass I was not to have done so during the recent ice storm...flush the toilets!!) and I lost power for most of the day. Back on by early evening, though so I am right with you. Happy as a warm clam on a cold, still windy night.

When my daughter had them (some 20-odd years ago) the guy at the pet store showed me what he said was a pic of the female Beta and she was nothing remarkable at all. i ran into a bad snag studding my jacket i did not have quite enough room to put a stud to make it match the other side of the backpatch.had to take out some studs then put them back in trying to make a bit more room for that stud.still did not have enough room so fooled around with it somemore and finally got it to my satisfaction.i tend to be a bit of a perfectionist at times.

Yeah, just got back from the "big city" where I found the deal of the decade! Any skier or snowboarder knows the brand Spyder. Usually coats sell for upwards of $400+. Well, I have been looking for a cool one since my last trip to Steamboat to no avail. Today at a Dicks (hold your tongue, Timbo!! Sports store), I find ONE in the entire store. Not only is it the one I had on my short list but it is on triple sale!! $112 bucks! Apparently not too many skiers here in Tennessee.
A bit large in the sleeves but I'll pull a Bobby Brady (come on, you old Brady Bunch fans..you know what I am talking about) and hang from a monkey bar to stretch! HAAA! What a blast! I am going to sleep in this sucker!

If this is still tied after the first 5 shooters, you continue until the tie is broken. Not only did we win on the 5th kick, but it was this kids first goal of the year !
This put us in the Championship game and they continued to give their all. After 2 of my players were literally carried off the field, one on his way to the emergency room, we lost 4-3. I can't tell you what an honor and priveledge it is to be involved with a group of kids willing to give up their bodies, hearts and souls for a team and to respect me enough to allow me to take part in this with them and give their all. What an amazing day !
Their is a silver lining. In the after game ceremonies it was announced that, although we did not win the championship, we did earn the wild card spot and will be moving on to sectionals along side the park champions.

I just had another one of those coaching days. I have been helping my son's soccer team this season and our head coach had to go to some kind of national teacher's conference in Washington D.C. this weekend. He asked me to take over, so I have spent the last couple of days taking on-line courses for certification in order to do so.
All season I have been practicing with them. In part to help the team and, in all honesty, in part for the exercise.
Today was my first time being head coach of a soccer team. What an amazing experience. Our first game ended in regulation a tie 1-1. After two 5 minute overtimes we went into penalty kicks. If this is still tied after the first 5 shooters, you continue until the tie is broken. Not only did we win on the 5th kick, but it was this kids first goal of the year !
This put us in the Championship game and they continued to give their all. After 2 of my players were literally carried off the field, one on his way to the emergency room, we lost 4-3. I can't tell you what an honor and priveledge it is to be involved with a group of kids willing to give up their bodies, hearts and souls for a team and to respect me enough to allow me to take part in this with them and give their all. What an amazing day !
Their is a silver lining. In the after game ceremonies it was announced that, although we did not win the championship, we did earn the wild card spot and will be moving on to sectionals along side the park champions.
THEY CAN'T GET RID OF US THAT EASILY ! |
