I like Rob's voice better than Ripper's voice, I absolutely LOVE Rob's voice! I just want to sing like him so bad like in Painkiller, I want to sing that high-pitched . But the song I only like with Ripper is Cathedral Spires from the Jugulator album.

 I saw Priest in '98 and have to say that no one on the planet could have come as CLOSE to filling Robs shoes as the Ripper did!!!!!.............of course NO-ONE can fill the "METAL GOD"s shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might be one of the few people who really like both singers. Halford though is the superior singer and frontman, but Tim is very talented and is a great vocalist. Personally, I like Priest better with Halford, but I loved the Beyoned Fear album and I look forward to purchasing the new Tim Owens solo album. So everyone quit bashing Rob or Tim, they are both great singers. Rob though will ALWAYS be THE METAL GOD.

You said it mate! .... Listening to "Ripper"... (someone tell me where he got that name from because it sounds ridiculous....). gives me a headache. Halfords voice sounds heavenly no matter what era or what register he uses. He doesn't have to scream to impress me, Owens sounds and looks like he's trying hard to impress the audience. He may be able to sing, but there is now way you can compare him. Let us not forget what the actual question is here: "Who is the better vocalist?".... It has nothing to do with who's your favourite, it is who is better... and the answer is clear even if you like Owens more. 

To add... Halford and Fight kick major metal arse.....

Ripper did a fine job, but having listened to nothing but Priest everyday since Halford has been back, Ripper sounds like he is yelling with a lot of effort, and adding random screams where they don't belong, especially on the original stuff.

It just comes natural to Halford, and he knows where to change or add a scream when doing things live that give a new, yet natural twist to a classic song.

That and Halford is just a 100 times better....

Tim Ripper Owens was the singer for Juds Priest, you guys should just accept that.
