Could"nt" of put it in text any better! Ithink alot of people coming to the site are afraid to give honest opinion ,so they keep to themselves. How can you come to this site if you are a true priest fan and say this album kicks ass! About 4 tracks catch me, but not in a metal way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I've listened to Nostradamus a lot and I'm afraid just can't get into it at all.

I had doubts when I heard it was going to be a concept album  after that debacle of Lochness and sad to say my full fears have been realised

Firstly it's FAR TOO LONG. It's in need of serious editing.  On the whole it's a mistake to let musicians produce their albums. The Jimny Pages of the world can get away with it, but most groups can't.. Possibly it's an ego thing-  band members insisting that their particular song should be included.  This album needed a producer (such as Tom) who could rack the whip and chuck out the songs that frankly just don't  hack it.

It's samey. Most of the time, I'm hard pushed telling one song from another. It's almost like listening to a metal Andrew Lllyod Webber.

Glen And KK are in excellent form and Halford is vocally stronger than on Angel Of Retribution. But Hill may have well not have been there. He's been mixed so far down  he may has well not have bothered playing. And what the hell have they done with  the brilliant Travis. From the sounds of it, they've used a fucking drum machine.

There are a few very good songs on Nostradamus. But I have to say I'm let down. After hearing this, I just stick on Stained Class, Painkiller, Screaming For Vengeance , Sad Wings, British Steel etc. That's what Priest are about.

And I'm not stuck in the past. Look how brilliantly Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, Megadeth and others matured.  have matured. Italso seems that people who are negative are getting a bashing for daring to have an opinion. I guess they're Mugabe supporters.

I would like to say that as a 40 year old, old school metal is my thing, and Judas Priest is right up there with Maiden, Metallica, KISS, and Megadeth in my book. I happen to LOVE this new record, even if it is a departure from what we have enjoyed from JP since 1974. Also, the artwork is killer!! I think a tattoo is in order for this one! Keep kickin our asses guys, see you on tour!

Nostradamus is a brave and welcome move for a band who made their name doing just that; being brave.

When I first heard JP it was Sad Wings. What appealed then was the sense of musical adventure/drama mixed with ear-drill riffing, and the fact that they pushed the envelope further than Sabbath or anything I’d heard before.

With Nostradamus they’ve re-invented themselves again and the entire feel of the CD sits beautifully alongside their earlier stuff. In the forthcoming tour (got my ticket – the waiting begins!) I hope we hear of both ends of their amazing catalogue.

I would have to agree with the scaled down track list. The stuff in between some tracks is what has most fans in limbo about their true feelings on this CD. Try this idea and maybe your opinion of the CD will change. ROCK ON!!

As I said before ,I am playing the cd as I type this. I think that the one thing that everyone may not be taking into mind is how old these guys are.I have too been a fan since I was a kid,and thanx to them i got into music(as in learning to play as a drummer, singer, writer, composer) i've been at it for 20 yrs now and its hard to do the stuff i did 20 yrs ago when i was younger and  more fit.and harder to keep it fresh. rememer metal music is the bastard son of classical music, in the way it is structured, its composition, its feel and mood. it picks you up and drops you.music with real emotion does this.to a point you have to look at the bands problem,on one hand if they put out painkiller #2 than people will say its rehash, bein there done that.On the other hand if its a different thing than people say its no good, So they are damned if they do & damned if they dont. as i still am listening to the disk i think the fact that Halford is singing. and in italian in basic operatic form is majestic.Again I hope I could be so fortunate to sound and sing half that good at there age. LONG LIVE THE PREIST

Oh, and another thing: Calling the lot of us a bunch of lemmings for liking something that doesn't appeal to him?  I guess that's his opinion of us too, eh?
Necro can go fuck himself until he decides to show some damn maturity and apologize for being a jackass.  Lemming this!

Whether you like this album or not I think we should stop and think about JP for a moment.  I personally think the album taken in it's context of what the boys have attempted to do is brilliantly done, combining all the facets of JP music over the years.

The boys have done a musical piece maybe more so for themselves and their own personal satisfaction rather than creating something for us fans and for a band of their enduring career I think they are entitled too.

They say themselves in the opening blurb how their metal history and Nostradamus share "overcomin difficulties, standing up against those who misunderstand what we believe in and many other virtures that attest to what we do with our music".  This kinda says it all and is akin to why they have chosen this man's story to tell.

Judas Priest are a group of intelligent and highly moralled bunch of guys and to think they are still creating and pumping out such powerful and unrestrained music with clarity is a credit to them.

There will never be another band like Judas Priest and so I for one are thankful for any music they give us and am also thankful for them touring again.

I  thoroughly enjoy listening to NOstradamus.

No doubt this is a record which has caused a lot of debate.  Those wanting a painkilling priest or a freewheel burning priest and nothing else are sure to be disappointed.  To me it's a masterpiece that i knew i would love the first time it was put on; it's such an atmospheric record which flows from start to end.  While rob doesn't hit the higher end of his ability to often he surely demonstrates what a brilliant vocalist he is.  At 23 songs and 2 CD's it's quite a collection, and most bands would put the rubbish on the second CD.  Most band however wouldn't attempt such a record  and Judas Priest once again prove they are masters of what they do.

At the moment the 2nd CD gets played more than the 1st......
