Yeah I agree with you K2M. Iron Maiden has been very very poor in writting quality songs throughout the last 20 years...from 1990 till now...thier song writting is overrated and does not come close to "quality".....
A quality album: If an album has 10 songs on it....there must be at least 7 quality songs on it and maybe 3 throw away songs....I would say 8 quality tracks and 2 throw aways........
(1990)No Prayer For The Dying..............(1992)Fear Of The Dark..........(1995)The X Factor........(1998)Virtual Eleven...........(2000)Brave New World......(2003)Dance Of Death....(2008)A Matter Of Life And Death
Throughout the last almost 20 years now....there are only 1 and a half albums that I would consider "quality"...and thats half of "Brave New World"....and "A Matter Of Life And Death".....
Those other albums suck big time...."Dance Of Death" is the worst Iron maiden album I have EVER heard with Bruce Dickinson on vocals.....absolutely terrible......god I hate that record...yuk.
Then you have Judas Priest ...since 1990 "Painkiller,Jugulator,Demolition,Angel Of Retribution and Nostradamus".........only Demolition and Nostradamus are of poor quality in my opinion.
Saxon has been the most consistant releasing 7 straight quality albums in a row ..from 1995 till 2009..........that is "clutch".........that is why Saxon are definately the most underrated band on the planet.
Motorhead is the same way...since the shitty 1992 album"March Or Die"..they have released 9 straight quality albums of hard rock..........Saxon and Motorhead have been extremely consistant
over the last 15 + years......even though Judas Priest are my favorite band...Saxon and Motorhead have out done them in quality albums consistantly.
Iron Maiden have been the most "inconsistant" by a long,long shot.

Oh man....I got to call you out on this one.....Saxon doesn't even make a wart on Priest's keister!!!!! Iron Maiden is better than Saxon any day.

I guess it doesn't really matter how popular Iron Maiden is...we all know that Judas Priest as a whole....as an entire career...are better than Black Sabbath,Iron Maiden,Saxon,Motorhead....ect..ect..ect.... Judas Priest will always be #1.

I think Priest have done really well since their reunion. They've released 2 albums, done a short reunion tour, full blown AOR tour, a mammoth Priest Feast Tour including a leg of British Steel 30th Anniversary & playing at festivals in Japan in October...totalling to 297 played gigs by the time they finish that. They released a live DVD & a live CD. They are still planning to do a Nostradamus tour (hopefully short) and Rob did state that the next Priest release will be a real strong heavy metal record (as his gut instinct tells him). What more could we expect of the mighty Priest? Yes they are definitely as good as Iron Maiden I would say, so rock on Judas Priest

Since their reunion?? Absolutely!! Even before they released AOR they were co-headlining and selling out Oz Fest. what's what, 13-14 years without a new releasw since Painkiller...and were selling out!!! Since Nos, they did one tour in support of that, now touring again celebrating a 30 year old album...wha can do that successfully?? Most bands (including Maiden) tour celebrating their old music (up to a certain album)...Priest with one!! Maybe that's why Maiden felt a need to do a documentary, they couldn't out do Priest live on tour...just a thought
