There is nothing wrong with a solid work ethic. In fact, I'm one for believing that your work does define you. High standards and attention to detail, raising the bar for those around you, and inspiring your fellow employee. Working 9-5 makes you average. Working 845-515 makes you good. But working 8-6 makes you great. Whatever you do, you are not your job title or description. Do more than the other guy. Step in and fill in those gaps. Professionals are well-rounded in their chosen fields. And great managers know the company business from the ground up.....and are willing to step into any situation to assist should the need arise. Leaders do what the other guy won't. That defines your reputation. That defines your standard. And that defines the man. Work is an honorable trade. Most people in third world nations will never have the priviledge of working for wages. Never complain about your employment. It's a priviledge to work, not to be taken lightly in a free society. Happy Christmas to all!

Also, who here has played 'Rock Band' or 'Guitar Hero'?? Yep, 42 yrs. old and I played 'Rock Band' the other night. Yes, I was not in my usual state when this happened, and I totally sucked (played drums). My lowest score was the first song w/68% and a high of 88%, and that was on easy. We did try Painkiller on easy and I scored a 77%. My 2 friends and I had fun though.

Perhaps you are not familiar with Lake Tahoe or the Sierra NEVADA Mountains????? HAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAA!!! Yes Ron, we have mountains. Matter of fact, we have Mt.Charleston which is about an hour from Vegas. The city of Las Vegas sits in a "bowl", if you will. It is surrounded by foothills which get snow. The desert is actually a very cold place, it's just that the rain has trouble reaching us because of the surrounding terrain.

Hey there Scorp and DF...it's been eerily quiet on the Board this morning...Are there any mountains in Nevada? Plan a ski trip or get a sled and enjoy the snow. Be careful what you ask for Scorp, you just might get it!! lol |

It's 19F, the warmest at this hour all week with 4 inches of fresh snow waiting to be shoveled!!
1 week 'til Christmas and I still have a lot of shopping to do. Nothing puts me in the spirit faster than wrapping gifts!!
My 2 friends and I had fun though.
ps...DF, I couldn't find a 'game' thread, so I posted this here lol Edited at: Wednesday, December 17, 2008 6:59:45 AM |

HB, I don't know where you're from, but in Indiana here, we've had days like you've described. It hasn't happend in awhile, but you never forget 'em either. I live near the Windy City, so I can relate to wind chill. Sometimes we have to leave the faucets slightly on so the pipes don't freeze. Stay warm my friend and I hope this isn't what your entire winter is like!!
