Final world tour

You do not have enough Respect Points to post in this topic.

This really sucks, but I still love this band and will see this last tour in as many cities as I can.
I`m so disappointed, but understand them wanting to enjoy the life they have built for themselves, they deserve it.
They`ll always be my Number 1 Favorite band. Period.
[Becks] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 5:17:55 PM
I am sure it'll be awesome Necro! Good on ya, it'll be hard to say goodbye.

It is very sad news :( I love Priest and I am going to see them next year, I will support them to the very end. And to you guys who are bashing Nostradamus, I am dissapointed in you, Nostrasdamus was an amazing album and I think it is okay that it is the last Priest album. I accept that you don't like the album, but it was done by a band who believed in it, who put their hearts into it, and lots of Judas Priest fans enjoy the album, so I don't see why you need to criticize it all the time. It's not St. Anger for christ sake! As a matter of fact I believe it's one of their very best albums, better than Angel of Retribution, which I also love.

Judas Priest will forever be my favorite band!!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 4:30:06 PM
I know you like this band much more than I do Guido, and I'm in no frame of mind to be giving opinions after the month I've had I agree, but what in the fuck is wrong with this band? I know you enjoy Nostradamus and its your opinion that the album is great, but to a percentage of long time fans it is not, just like Turbo...same thing. Its just "sad" when the best they can do is Nostradamus.

I'm not saying that Priest are inferior to The Final Frontier,I'm saying Judas Priest after the year 2005 are inferior to Iron Maiden in general. I hate The Final Frontier but I hate Nostradamus much more. Its sad to say but I belive its true.

This band could of done so much better and to see them watered down these last 3 years was hard to watch. I love old Judas Priest but these last 5 years were the bands worst years of thier career, but we all have our opinions.I'm sick of Judas Priest not delivering the goods. They should of retired right after the Retribution tour right around 2007...that would of been much better in my book, and much better to deal with instead of Nostradamus.Just my 2 cents thats all.

Well I would assume its because Priest's music is a LOT harder to perform then literally every single song Motorhead, Saxon or Dio have written. Harder to perform = harder on the body. Rob and co aren't exactly young anymore and imagine they just want to finally not have to worry about touring and whatnot after this is over. They'd like to retire. Wouldn't you at 60 years old? Rob isn't going to stop though, that's for sure. I would not be surprised if he puts out another Halford album eventually.

I'm disappointed this is the way they chose to go out. Can't help it. Will I go see them one last time, yes. Just wish we had gotten one last killer album before the end.
[guidogodoy] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 4:18:33 PM
I can respond. What the fuck are you thinking, J.D.? Priest is inferior to The Final Frontier? WTF?!?

Really, I don't get on you when you badmouth Priest on their own site but that is a bit too much. Please understand that this comes from a fan who will be trying his best to schedule work around following Priest. Have done so for years and I don't plan on stopping now.

Sorry to say Budred but  anything after 2005's  "Angel Of Retributon"....this band sucks.  Its sad when even the lame boring "The Final Frontier" is better than Nostradmus. Hellrider is going to be fucking pissed off right along side me.
[Necroticist] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 4:06:54 PM
Ok OK - negative comments aside - i WILL be at the High Voltage Festival on July 23rd, will be my way of doing 'goodbye', plus it falls on the wife's birthday...so might entail a few days away...despite what u may think of my comments i have been a fan since '76 - yes i am gonna miss 'em, but i stick by what i said about being disappointed with the last few recordings...is just MY opinion tho - no offense intended...  If i had 'The Tardis' i would go back to Hammermith Odeon in '81...relive one of the greatest rock shows i have ever seen...
[Budred] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 4:04:46 PM
Wow! I feel like someone just died. (Too bad it's a little part of me.)
They sounded so good on their last tour. I saw Rob on a metal show a couple
of months ago and he mentioned his dream tour would be Priest/Sabbath(and)Maiden.
Then I heard mention of something next year here. As much as I knew this ride
wouldn't last forever and that the end was sooner than later I have to say I'm shocked.
It actually pains me to write this. Lastly and again, WOW!!!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 4:04:34 PM
This is utterly "crap".  This isn't some good news this is shit news and its fucked. Fuckin Dio was 67 still planning a couple more albums and Halford and Downing are still 58 fucking years old and throwing in the towel? Whatever. Like i said,I still have Saxon to crank out at least one more studio album since they are in the studio right now and will have an album out in March they said.Motorhead also is releasing thier 20th studio album and still going strong. I realized that this band is getting older but why in the fuck couldn't they of released one more studio album?

Whatever,it fucking sucks and I find none of this inspiering at all....what are wee supposed to do....jump for joy because the band is deciding to "tour" again?
Fuck that bullshit tour,I ain't supporting this band playing live they can retire NOW for all I care, fuck it.
[acolyte55] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 4:00:45 PM
dec 7th 1941 - dec 7th 2010  2 incredible dates for the world  to comprehend !!  dumbfounded iam , what happened to the new album ????  lets hope they dig deep in to the back catalog and give us a 3 hour show !!! because thats it, 3 hours for the rest of  our lives !!!!!
[Bazookajoe_666] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 3:36:50 PM
This comes as a complete surprise and shock for me. After so much talk of taking a break and then coming back in 2011 for a brand new album in the classic 80's vein of Screaming For Vengence and British Steel. And now this? A farewell tour? Very surprised by this. Even more so considering the live performance Priest has been putting on lately. I mean every single one of them are at their best musicianship wise. It's kind of impossible to get WORSE at you're instrument haha. Rob vocals have been phenomenal live these days. I'd actually say he's performing just as good if not better than on the 2001 Resurrection tour. Some of his screams are actually sounding just as good as the FIGHT days, 20 odd years ago... But I suppose its time eh? Rob's nearly 60 years old. Everyone else is either older or a bit younger. So I have to go see this tour, otherwise I'll never get to see them it's lookin' like. I just wish they'd do at least one more album before they finally call it a day. Not saying Nostradamus was a shitty album to end they're career on, its just not a PRIEST album ya know? Would have been nice to have that a "Priest Metal" album. Nontheless I am excited for this tour. They're gonna be playing a shit ton of classic songs by the sounds of it, so it should be a blast. They said they're gonna be playing songs that made Priest a household name in world of metal, so I'm expecting some 70's shit thrown in there. SINNNNNEEERR!!!!!
[j-rock] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 3:36:29 PM
Wow.  This news caught me off-guard this morning!    But the J.P. boyz have definitely earned their retirement.

Here's hoping that the EPITAPH tour comes through the U.S., specifically the San Francisco Bay Area!  Gotta give them a fond farewell, y'know.
[Mr. Dave Genocide] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 3:33:45 PM
I knew something was going on cos my iPod only wanted to play Priest songs today . . . Wow.. This is completely shocking to me.. I first saw them in '04, this cannot be the end!!! This put me in a bad mood, but at the same time it's pumping me up because we all know this will be an amazing extravagansa for all to see. They never disappoint live! There has to be an album, too! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! This is crazy . . .
[guidogodoy] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 2:58:19 PM
Necro, I have always considered you a friend. You know that. I also hope it was abundantly clear that I, like many, honestly liked Nostra. While I considered my own "fanboy" reaction there for a while, I came to terms about it long ago. I think it is great. Plain and simple.

You get into fights with psycho-Canadian bunny-boiler? I defended you. You make up? Your buisness, your choice. Truth be told, though, you have very rarely said anything positive about Priest. Becks is absolutely right. Again, your choice, to be sure, but I ask that you consider that many of us have been and always will be die-hard Priest fans. A kind word from you here might help to solidify the friendships we have all made here and around the world at concerts all thanks to the Metal Gods.

My two pence. (<===from someone who is already trying to plan a friggin' trip to Europe to see the EPITAPH!!!!!!! )

This has been my favorite band since I was 11 years old. But I can't really say I"m sad or heartbroken over it. Life moves on. These guys are about 60 years old. Once Halford rejoined the band, I figured it was just a matter of a few years before they pack it in. This is exactly why I saw them 18 times in the last 6 years. I wanted to see them as many times as possible before they retired. over 40 years is a hell of a run! We should all consider ourselves lucky that Halford rejoined the band and they came back with such a bang from '04-the present. For the people that haven't seen them, now they know to catch them on the upcoming tour.
[Necroticist] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 2:35:55 PM
Simple - since A.O.R. it's been crap! Doesn't mean i don't like JP - Been a huge fan since '76 - christ, some ppl can't take criticism....Have stated since day 1 on here they ain't my fave band. Don't worry yaself over future comments tho - won't bother.

What a sad day for us real Priest fans.
Just say Halford on Saturday and he was more nostalgic  than ever before.
He talked with the crowd even more than usual.
Priest rules!  I am soooo bummed out.
[Painkiller87] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 1:51:33 PM
Well the times were fun with just only seeing them twice. I will make sure to see them one more time no matter what. We will still support their music for years to come!
[Marktheshark] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 1:43:02 PM
Well, I knew this day would come sooner or later. Still, it's sad to think that there will be no more Priest in a year or so. Glad I got to meet them on the Metal Masters tour a few years back. I will definately go see them at least once on the Epitaph tour. I was hoping for one last scorcher of an album before a final farewell tour, but I can't complain after all the great music they have given us over the years. Hope to see some of my JP boardmember buddies for one last party at the Toronto show next year. We'll always have the memories.....
[guidogodoy] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 1:23:50 PM
Holy crap. Like previously stated...I am gutted. At work, can't take this all in but the "Epitaph" at the top said it all. More to come.
[Bluddy Hell] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 12:50:40 PM
I have missed 4 JP concert tours since 1982.  That might seem like a lot or a little from your point of view.  I consider each show to be a part of my life, and I wonder what I missed out on from those 4 shows that I didn't make it to.   I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting each member of this fine band and will cherish the photos and autographs they did for me.  It goes without saying that I will make every effort to see at least one (and hopefully more) show on their Epitaph tour.
[Dave 444] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 12:46:20 PM
We all knew the day would come. Just shocked it is now. After the last tour I felt the Priest was back stronger than ever. Interviews from the band gave no clue to what was around the corner. I have to wonder if somthing has happend for the sudden news of retirement.

Anyway- Thanks to the PRIEST for the many years of enjoyment.
[Becks] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 12:09:29 PM
Seriously, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I for one am sick and tired of your snide comments. One would think you aren't a Priest fan at all . Everyone here will freely admit what they dislike that Priest has done, but I honestly can't remember you ever saying something positive about them.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Necroticist from Tuesday, December 07, 2010 11:37:10 AM)

Well, the end days are coming for all the Classic Metal bands.
We got to say goodbye to the the Scorps and now we will say goodbye to the Priest and our kids will get to say they saw Priest on their farewell tour.
Better to go out on top then fade away.
[oneshotatglory] Tuesday, December 07, 2010 9:43:48 AM

Hello All.  I rarely post on this board, but have enjoyed following the conversation for the past several years.  However, I had to post something in regards to the final tour announcment.  The news is devestating to me, but it had to come.

I purchased Defenders of the Faith as a junior in high school in 1984 and then saw them that summer on the Defenders tour.   So many of their songs are about independence, going against the grain, and pursuing your dreams and that message has always resonated with me.  I am just glad that I was able to see them so many times and that I have been able to enjoy all of the music over the years.  I was hoping they would stick around until my daughter was old enough to see them.  She is already a fan at the age of five!

Anyway, I hope I can meet some of you out at one of the final shows.

A very sad day.

This sucks! I've only seen The Metal Gods 4 times, which is not nearly enough! Last time Glenn gave me a pick! It was the best moment in my lifetime!!! They have got to come to Houston. But if they don't I WILL be on the road. Maybe there will be a reunion tour in a few years...this can't be the end.

I feel like someone just ripped my heart out of my chest...... I can't even begin to tell you how much the music of Priest has meant to me in my life - always giving me the strength to go on when I thought I couldn't, lifting me up when I am at my lowest and inspiring me to be my best. Priest will always be my favorite band. No other could ever take their place.

It looks like this is the time for all of us to plan that big get together at a show and send them out in a blaze of glory and give them all the love that we can!!!

  FOREVER!!!

I echo the sentiments of my fellow Priest-mongers below.
I knew this day would come ... but I was not expecting it already.
I, too, am crushed ... as JTSDS said - they've been my lifeline.
Long live the beast that is Priest.
Priest fans - we need to make this THE biggest selling tour out there next year ...
bigger than U2, Gaga, Bieber ... whoever.
This is OUR chance to show the world what an impact Priest has had on the industry
and on fans.
*sniffle*

ABOUT LAST JUDAS PRIEST WORLD-TOUR...

O my god!!!
2011 the last Judas Priest world tour???
I just can’t believe this!!!
Why that news?
And why that news now on Christmas?

1.
For their fans….this news is the most bad gift they got ever on Christmas holydays…
But…
For me personally, this news is the most sadly news I ever heard related to my soul band and now on Christmas too, and the sadly thing is that is not just a rumour but is a true thing as far as these news already appears in their official site ,and here on My space and Facebook too, etc. But the most sadly thing related to their first part of their 2011 tour about Europe,is that for most of us,like me,and others, will be almost impossible to attend to these countries from their tour, and if they will not induce other countries in Europe then when they will induce the other part of their 2011 tour which probably will be for USA,and for Japan, definnetly for some of us,like me,and others, will be impossible to attend.

2.
For their fans…this news will be definitely the only last chance to re-see they live,or seen they for their first and last time.
But…
For me personnaly because probably I will cannot attend to neither one of these locations, their first and last show in Romania,at Bucharest ,at Best Fest ,from 2008,11 july, will be my last memory from they, but also I hope they will not finish their musical carrer now ,and they will continue at least to enjoy us with some new studio albums and even some Dvd-s with shows from their all musical carrers.

3.
For their fans…this news put the fans to do their inventory, related to their memories which they accumulate until now, such as how many of their music bought, how many of their live shows they attend,if they got an autograph or not, etc…
But …
For me personnaly, this news make me to do my own inventory, and if I look back,I am sad that I discovered their music such late, just now 4 years ago, and I didn’t succed to have all their original music long time ago,but I am proud today I already have this entirely, and because I discovered them so late,I didn’t succed to attend to many of their shows, but I am proud that I attend to their first show in my country now 2 years ago,and I hope that Halford band will not stop yet their live activity and will come to my country too,and even in my city Arad,to our Rock on Mures Fest, and finnaly because I discovered them so late, I didn’t’ succed to meet Rob Halford, personally,to salute him,to do a photo with him,and take an autograph, but I am proud that I got one from Scott Travis, and I hope I will get one from Rob too,if he will come with Halford band even to Romania, but most than this, even if I discovered them so late, also I am very proud that I was one of their fans which got the chance to keep a short corepsondence with Miss.Jayne ,their manager, with mr.Mark ,their art editor, and with Mr.Murray, their webmaster, peoples which passed my correspondence to the band and to Rob,to know they have a new fan from a country where they even didn’t knew they will ever come, and more than this,I am proud that I dedicated all my net pages to the band, and to Rob,and any will happen, they will remain ever my soulband, and I will continue to fight for the induction of their and of Rob into Rock Roll Hall of Fame and for bring them a star on Walk of Fame.

I still cant' belive this news, but unfortunately is a true news!
But you Judas Priest shouldn’t gaved us this news now on Christmas! Also I love you and I will always love you my soul band!!!

Priest have been my lifeline for metal music and this news saddens me deeply. I will of course be trying to get to the London fest and I pray I can, I must. Farewell you Metal Gods, it has been unbelievable. \m/ Please give us a farewell album too!!!!!
