Very windy and cold here in SoCal. Finally feels like November and not friggin' August.

The weekend is almost over and I did not see a single flake of the white stuff. I did have to turn my heat on though. Too early for that.

I've come to the conclusion that the weather people are getting just as overly dramtic as the rest of the news networks.
20% chance of showers usually means NO chance of showers. I'm predicting a regular snow this winter will be labled a blizzard just for dramtic effect.

A couple of hours ago we had some thunder. So far, like today, tomorrow's forecast here in SoCal calls for a 20% chance of showers. That can only mean one of two things: either there will be a rain shower that will last all of five minutes, or it will be perfectly clear and sunny.

There is a chance for snow this weekend? Really?? WAY to early for such suggestions.
It's damn cold tonight though. Looks like La Nina is going to treat my little neck of the woods kind of sucky this year. ......................Hope not.

Just closed up the pool for the winter. Close call with the recent weather but I beat most of the leaves coming down this year.

Wow, and as usual none of us here in the States heard a single thing about it, but we could overblow the small VA earthquake to gradious porportions in the media. How sad.

It's been stinkin' hot all day here in SoCal...and apparently there's a huge power outage affecting San Diego, Baja California and Arizona. How long will it last? Who knows.

Those that don't live in tornado zones really don't want to! This sucker had sirens going off day and night, caused a leak in my roof and scared my dog half to death!

Still, while 33 dead in TN., it could have been worse...AL got HIT! Scary stuff...

If it makes you feel any better we had 70 degree weather, that turned to massive thunderstorms with a tornado warning and drop in temperature, which I was not worried about as I have never seen a funnel set down in these mountains my entire life. Sorry,....... gettin' cocky about our spring weather. lol

8 degrees celcius - roughly 46 degrees F - for my non-Canadian headbangers....overcast/grey/cloudy but not too bad, nice to open the windows finally and get the stagnant air out!    Already spotted crocus and other bulb flowers peeking out now that the snow has been completely gone for a few days....yay spring!

It's likely that bisons produce as much methane as cows, or maybe more due to their bigger size. And yeah, there were huge numbers of them before good ol' Man nearly hunted them down to extinction, so lots of methane must have been present in the Great Plains waaay back in the day.

I also heard that global warming occured more than once throughout Earth's history, before humans came around. One period in particular that had a high amount of greenhouse gases was the Jurassic period (or was it Triassic? I don't remember). So...could it mean that the dinosaurs also farted?

I live near cow farms.  now, if GHG is true, did bison produce methane at the rate of cows?  there used to be a hell of a lot of bison around.

While I understand vegans (well, sort of), Im really confused by the kinds of vegetarians that wont eat meat, but eat fish. Or eggs. Sure, there are people who cant for medical reasons (like allergies), but to be against brutality to cows, but not fish, just sounds a bit weird.

Yup. I read about that a while back. Their flatulence contains high levels of methane, one of the so-called "greenhouse gases". Have you ever seen a cow farm? It's basically a methane-producing factory.
