Who's harder?

[british.steel] Monday, July 13, 2009 4:17:49 PM
J.D., we can go on for days about this no doubt about it. lol!....but there will never be a real answer to the question its all about the style of music you like and what you like, for me its Maiden, for you its Motorhead, thats fine i respect you opinion. we know who the "harder" band is, but you cant answer who is "better"
[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, July 13, 2009 4:04:54 PM
"Bastards" was a great album!  Opening track    "On your Feet Or On Your Knees".....then "the awsome song   "Burner".............."Death Or Glory"................"I Am The Sword"........

"Born To Raise Hell"..............."Bad Woman"..............."Liar".............."Im Your Man"........"Lost In The Ozone"............."Devils"
....those "10" songs are great Motorhead songs and

there are only 2 that are throw away songs so thats is a great Motorhead album....don't know what you are hearing here b.s.??? Bastards was a great album for Motorhead fans!

And you say that "the latest Motorhead album is nothing to write home about either"??   LOL! Are you kidding me here?? LOL!!  19th studio album 2008 "Motorizer" is excellent!

"Runnaround Man"......."Teach You How To Sing The Blues"........"When The Eagle Screams".........."Rock Out"......."One Short Life"......"Buried Alive"......."English Rose".....

"Back On The Chain"............"Heros"..............."Time Is Right"..........."The Thousand Names Of God"..............
"All 11 songs here are classic Motorhead"....and a really great

album to true "Motorhead fans".  No worries, but obviously you are not a Motorhead fan that knows what they should or should not be doing........I am.

I've liked Motorhead since 1981 !!!

And going to the "Blaze Baily" two albums he did for Iron maiden era......he is a terrible singer and although it was not his fault...those songs were terrible...

"The X Factor" and "Virtual Eleven"..are Maiden's 2 worst albums of thier career.     And Maiden's first  6 or 7 albums are far beyond "Ace Of Spades"?

No way in hell ! lol!  No way that Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son come anywhere NEAR Ace Of Spades...not even close.....

And Motorhead has only 2 good songs? LOL!    Ok...ok.....its obvious that you really have no passion for Motorhead at all and thats fine with me and all.....

But you also have no clue as to what  quality Motorhead is.....I "AM" a Iron Maiden fan and have followed then since 1982 "The Number Of The Beast" album.

So I am a very long time fan of Iron Maiden....I was there when they wrote thier first 5 albums and ever since 1984's Powerslave.... they have not  wrote one album

that can match the greatness of 1984's "Powerslave".   Every album is far off from Powerslave.      We will just have to agree to "disagree". Simple as that.

But its still obvious...that Motorhead  is way way more consistant in writting quality albums consistantly than Iron Maiden ever has.

there are actually plenty of bands heavier than motorhead

[Hammered] Monday, July 13, 2009 12:16:37 PM
Motorhead without a doubt! No one is Louder or Heavier than Motorhead, simple as that, no ifs, ands or buts.
[british.steel] Monday, July 13, 2009 9:55:45 AM
Bastard wasnt very special, and the latest motorhead album was nothing to write home about either...and Blaze years were very good. most people hate them because Bruce isnt there, but some people dont take the time to listen to it. some amazing songs came from those albums, Sign of the Cross, Clansman! just to name a few, those are great songs, and Dance of Death was great. Paschendale was one of the coolest maiden songs ive heard in a while. and Brave new world had at least 5 good songs, Maiden's first 6 or 7 albums are far beyond better than "ace of spades" at least maiden made more  than 2 good songs

[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, July 13, 2009 2:19:26 AM
Yeah but as you said...No Prayer For The Dying wasn't so great...neither was Fear Of The Dark and then the next 2 albums with Blaze were terrible...thats 4 studio albums in a row......

Then they put out Brave New World wich was ok...I liked 6 songs out of 10 songs...4 were lame....the next album 2003 "Dance Of Death' to me is Iron Maiden's worst album with

Bruce Dickinson...so thats 5 albums that are very poor...since 1988's Seventh Son album.....

While on the other hand...Motorhead put out "March Or Die" in 1992 wich was thier worst album  (and they only have 2 albums that are under par out of 19 albums)...and since March Or Die..

they have "consistantly" put out 9 great studio albums from 1993 - 2008 and counting........

.......all in a row.......(1993)"Bastards".......(1995)"Sacrifice".......(1996)Overnight Sensation......(1999)"Snake Bite Love"...............(2000)"We Are Motorhead".........

....."(2002)"Hammered".............(2004)"Inferno".............(2006)"Kiss Of Death"..........(2008)"Motorizer"

So thats "9" studio albums in a row of consistant top notch song writting for Motorhead while Iron Maiden has had 5 albums that are not good since 1988..even if you like

Dnce Of Death....thats still "4" studio albums in a row from 1990-1998 that were terrible.....so I don't think Maiden has been "consistant"...but Motorhead "has been consistant" to Motorhead fans.

Motorhead is awesome, they are very good. Lemmy is a great song writer, he even wrote for Ozzy for No more tears, and he did a damn good job, he has more talent in his face boyles than most people will ever have! LOL. but Maidens first 5-7 albums, (7 for me) were outstanding and are considerd total classics. no prayer for the dying wasnt to great., one of their most famous live songs is on Fear of the dark. last 3 maiden albums were outstanding as well (IMO) so for consistency it would go to maiden, who was harder?now that is motorhead
[J.D. DIAMOND] Sunday, July 12, 2009 4:12:02 PM
Iron Maiden and Motorhead play 2 different styles of music.  If we were to talk about album consistancy....Motorhead blows Iron Maiden out of the water...not even close at all.

Motorhead has 19 studio albums and there really is only about 2 that are under par.......Iron Maiden can not match that even if they only have 14 studio albums....they have nowhere near

as many "quality" records that Motorhead has.............Motorhead really has been "clutch" in song writting and albums that kick ass!
[british.steel] Saturday, July 11, 2009 11:22:45 PM
Steve Harris is honestly one of the greatest songwriters of all time, i mean hes written almost all Maiden songs with the help of others on other songs, but he doesnt just write about the traditional stuff. he uses history and literature. its amazing what those guys can do.
[spapad] Saturday, July 11, 2009 11:16:08 PM
HA!!! I still love that song. Actually, one of my favs of all times and bands. Not sure why except it came out the year I learned the poem in "Western Literature" It just made my life so much easier since I am dyslexic and I get some of the really sofisicated crap mixed up. LOL

Aces high, Powerslave, Rime to the Ancient mariner, are the only ones i can play from powerslave. i know many more maiden songs. and a lot of JP too. the solo after the slow section in rime is just so powerful. the way the drum roll leads u to it just sends shivers down my spine. i love it.

I am completely serious in that I love it myself.

Glad you liked it B.S.! In my humble opinion, the best Maiden CD was Powerslave. I love that CD!
And I love my Eddie with all his parts in one place! God, he's so cute how could anyone not love the Ede!?

Seventh Son - GREAT album. I also am a fan of both the artwork and music on Somewhere in Time although I'd be leaning more towards the art to tell the truth. Caught Somewhere in Time and Wasted Years being my favs. Still, you have to mourn the death of the LP when thinking about how much went into those album covers. Goes for Powerslave too.

Seventh Son was even better as a whole, IMO, and still gave that nice throwback to Eddie's past on the back. Still, tell the truth, I wasn't the only one laughing along singing "Can I Play With Matches?" whenever it came on the radio now, was I? HAAAA!

I agree seventh son is way better, and why the evil that men do bothers you i dont know. lol but can i play with madness was very poppy and commercial sounding for maiden. the only thing good that came out of that song was a picture i saw in the cd was Bruce and Nicko standing by a bunch of semi naked women all with a letter on their boobs spelling out "MADNESS" i had a good laugh at that because they want to play with madness

But somewhere back in time is a great album for me, Caught somewhere in time, Wasted Years, lonileness of the long distance runner, sea of madness and deja vu are my favs, and i think it has one of the coolest album covers ever, because many things in the album art trace back to other albums and concerts they have done. we can agree that maiden had better album covers right? lol

[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, July 11, 2009 6:53:05 PM

lol! Yeah I know...I was just having fun with you...but yes...Maiden does have some great songs and some great albums.

I do not like Somewhere In time...there are only 2 tracks that I don't mind "The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner" and "Stranger In A Strange Land"...

The other tracks bother me for some unknown reason....its been this way since the album came out and my brain is settled to reject it....

Seventh Son album is FAR better than Somewhere In time.....Not an album I would say as Maiden's best but it does have some good tracks on it

like "Moonchild"......"Infinate Dreams"......"Seventh Son"....The Prophecy ...Only The Good Die Young............The Clair Voyant....

I never liked "The Evil That Men Do"...it drives me nuts and bugs me....Can I Play With Madness I never really cared for but

it doesn't bug me like The Evil That Men Do bugs me.  And yeah...I've read on this website a while ago now, there was a member

who was being serious and said "Turbo" was Priest's best album! LOL! But hey...to each his own I guess.

Turbo was theri best? HAHAHA! never head that before. but i respect your opinion too, if everyone liked the same stuff and had the sam opinions the world would be BORING! and as far as my statement goes....i know that Motorhead has done better than Somewhere in time, but Seventh son is an amazing album and i love every second of it. Motorhead is an amazing band dont get me wrong, but Maiden has a special place in my heart! lol
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, July 11, 2009 6:02:42 PM
"Somewhere In Time" And  "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son"  are   "better than anything Motorhead has ever done" ? LOL!

Well,....this just goes to show all of our differences.Even though I respect your opinion....that baffles my brain to hear that statement.

But hey....there are fans out there who claim "Turbo" as Judas Priest's best album of all time.  I fit your statement about Motorhead right

along side of "Turbo" being Judas Priest's best album! HA HA HA!! LOL!

LOL! Its all good British Steel....everyone has a right to voice thier opinions here.

Maidens first 7 albums were their best! somewhere in time and Seventh son were great albums. better than anything motorhea has ever done,  and as far as New maien goes, Brave new world Dance of death and Matter of Life and death are truly amazing albums. Every track on dance of death and matter of life and death is great. No prayer, was maidens worse, Fear of the Dark had only a couple good songs, blaze years were good but unapreciated. Motorhead is the harder band, but not better. i mean every one knows about Ace of spades but seriosusly, most people cant even name anther motorhead record
[HVYMTL] Saturday, July 11, 2009 1:28:39 PM
Motorhead.
Ace of Spades all the way
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, July 11, 2009 4:24:28 AM

Well.....A Matter Of Life And Death to me is "ok" but I hate that opening track"Different World"...and the Benjamin Bragg song sucks the big one.
I think the other songs are ok for what Maiden has done but I just for the LIFE OF ME figure out what fans see in the "Dance Of Death" album!
I can't get into any track on that album and I've heard it a dozen times .......to me its Bruce's worst Iron Maiden album........
I still think half of Iron miden's discography sucks! LOL!

As for Motorhead...I have 17 studio albums by Motorhead...the 2 that I don't have are  March Or Die Motorhead's worst album...and the other one was Another Perfect Day
however I did have Another Perfect day but I traded it...I did burn the songs "Back At The Funny Farm the opener and Shine....but I never got into any other songs.

I never had March Or Die but I've heard it a few times....it sucks....there are like 12 songs on it and I only could stand about 3 of them and those 3 were not anything
to write home about.

The Sacrifice album has some cool songs on it and I'm not saying it is a bad album, but to me its not as good as thier other 16 albums.

I think "Inferno" 2004 belongs somewhere in the top 5 best Motorhead albums of all time.

Have to disagree with you about Another Perfect Day, personally I think it's one of Motorheads better and more consistant albums. Loads of great songs on it, Back At The Funny Farm, Shine, One Track Mind, I Got Mine, Dancing On your Grave, Another Perfect Day, Rock It.... all awesome songs, it's fuckin ace. Your right about March Or Die though, it's not that good, but song March Or Die itself is cool. I reckon Somewhere In Time is a wicked album and so is Seventh Son, but yeah, No Prayer and Fear Of The Dark are a bit lamo. Won't even mention the Blaze Bayley albums but I thought Dance Of Death and Brave New World were solid. I think A Matter Of Life And Death is a long boring album, don't rate that one at all, for me it's their worst.

Motorhead is way better tahn Iron Maiden in "song writting consistancy".    Iron Maiden couldn't write 2 back to back "good" albums if they tried thier hardest!

I like the first 5 Iron Maiden albums up to Powerslave and then the next album that is worthy enough is the last album 2006 "A Matter Of Life And Death" wich

was nowhere near as good as Powerslave or anything before Powerslave, but it is the next Maiden album after Powerslave that is a decent album................

Iron Maiden has 14 studio albums and they only have 5 albums that are classic masterpeices...only "5"...and thats thier first 5 albums....................................

They have 2 other  albums that are "ok" but not great and those are ......"Brave New World".....and "A Matter Of Life And Death"......................................................

And 7 albums that are terrible......Somewhere In Time,Seventh Son,No Prayer For The Dying,Fear Of The Dark,The X Factor,Virtual Eleven,and Dance Of Death.

Thats 7 albums out of 14...half of Iron Maiden's discography "sucks".

Motorhead has 19 studio albums and they only have "2" albums that suck.....1983"Another Perfect Day" ..... 1992"March Or Die"..

Then they have one album that is "ok" but nothing great and that is 1995 "Sacrifice"......

But the other 16 albums by Motorhead are awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Motorhead is WAY BETTER than Iron Maiden in my opinion...
