Motorhead Bastards 2003
Even though technically Lemmy says they are not heavy metal.....motorhead's new wave of british heavy metal sound leaks through from time to time .....
Motorhead has a dirty greasy biker rock feel to them and some riffs dip in and out of british styled heavy metal but not so much that gets your mind off of thier brand of excellent hard rock.
Motorhead has every right to be in this thread. Shit....even Def Leppard's High And Dry could fit in this thread and would not be an insult as much as "Winger".
This album is a great Motorhead album.12 songs on this disc and there are only 3 tracks I don't care for...but the other 9 songs are classic Motorhead.
Tracks like the opener "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees"....."Burner"......."I Am The Sword"....."Born To Raise Hell"......awsome album.
My classic metal album of the day is Bastards - Motorhead (1993).

LOL Becks!! Yeah becks, spapad,Hot Rockin'.........I wouldn't of said anything if Winger would of been posted in another thread about all types of albums bands ..ect...
....but he tries to put Winger in a thread called "Classic Heavy Metal Album Of The Day"? No way. What an insult.
LOL J.D!
While I have heard worse bands than Winger, putting them in here is almost akin to putting this in here:
Cos ya know, Bret Michaels is hard core metal........................
OOPS big pic sorry. This album cover actually makes me feel ill. Yuck.

If I follow your logic Judas Priest became a full-blown poser band in 1986 when they released the "Lemon". Yah, I'm talking about Turbo. That album is a 1980's cheesefest. Everything about the Turbo era was cheesy: the outfits, the hairdos, the girly metal look, the "check out my hairless chest" outfits... The only thing Rob did back then was walking around with that silly mullet. It was even a million times cheesier than any Winger record. It was so cheesy that it made me cringe everytime I heard it. It was so cheesy that I decided to throw my copy in the trashcan. Ram It Down wasn't any better! "Love Zone", anyone? LMAO!
Winger definitely represents a certain genre that a certain group of people don't like. But at least they sticked to their guns and always continued to release melodic metal albums, even in the early nineties when everybody jumped on the alternative bandwagon. Rob Halford on the other hand has followed just about every trend in rock music. He released heavy metal albums when heavy metal reigned supreme during the early eighties. During the mid eighties glam became all the rage and he decided to put out a glam album in 1986... and another one in 1988... During the early nineties he suddenly became "alternative" and released a few grunge albums with Fight. After that he changed styles again by releasing a trendy industrial record. And so on... and so on... According to your logic this makes Rob one of the biggest posers in rock history. Now how do you live with that?

Winger definitely represents a certain genre that a certain group of people don't like. But at least they sticked to their guns and always continued to release melodic metal albums, even in the early nineties when everybody jumped on the alternative bandwagon. Rob Halford on the other hand has followed just about every trend in rock music. He released heavy metal albums when heavy metal reigned supreme during the early eighties. You are a complete idiot Craig Wagenhoffer. You have no respect for this thread and are only here to cause problems like a childish fucking troublemaker who has low self esteem.
It doesn't matter how "good" the guitar player in "Winger " is...the point is "you" have "no idea" what real true traditional heavy metal is at all,and are trying to match wits with somebody
as myself who "does know" what bands/albums belong in this thread. This is a "CLASSIC HEAVY METAL" thread..and "Winger" is not a "heavy metal band".....they are a trend band that
grasped onto the mid 80's ride with the rest of the glam movement from L.A.....Winger isn't even a classic "rock" band.....they are a bunch of posers who were an embarrassment....like you. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Craig Wagenhoffer from Saturday, July 04, 2009 9:40:16 PM)

Kip Winger himself is one of the greatest rock n' roll singers of the 1980's. He played bass on several Alice Cooper records. Is Alice Cooper a poser too?
Rod Morgenstein is a great drummer. He's plays the drum kit left handed like it's nothing. He's a professor teaching percussion at Berklee College of Music in Boston. You might not like the man, but he's no poser.
Look dude, we all have our own tastes, but you should really loosen up and stop talking like a fundamentalist. It's okay if you don't like certains bands and certain genres, but calling four stellar musicians posers is just childish. "They couldn't tune Priests' guitars for Pete's sake."
That's a rediculous statement. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. This is Reb Beach playing the guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWGQWu6mSWM It's pure genious. Reb Beach easily equals Ken Downing, Glenn Tipton, Eddie Van Halen and all the others. There's no way you can deny that. Hey Craig...look at the name again...J.D. is different than JD...JD is the most respected member in name only, as a man he's a tool and is deserving of nobodies respect!!!!
The J.D. you are engeged with is a hell of a guy and you'd be well served to understand his intent...as he is dead on correct.
By NOBODY'S standard is Winger in any way, shape or form considered a Classic Metal Band...hell, Kip will tell you that himself. So why are you so stubborn about something the band itself witll tell you your wrong??? [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Craig Wagenhoffer from Saturday, July 04, 2009 9:24:55 PM)

Yes dumbshit yes........"Rob K.K. Glenn Ian and Dave Holland were all 5 a bunch of "posers" with the "Turbo" album. And the "Turbo album" doesn't belong in the "Classic Heavy Metal Thread" either!
Rob & company were a bunch of posers for the entire Turbo era...it was equally cheesy as "Winger"...... ...But the rebounded with the Ram It Down album even though it was not that great of an album...the had thier image back and thier sound was returning to a normal heavy metal album...yes Love Zone and I'm A Rocker was lame....but the band had thier studs and spikes back and thier sound was beginning to pave way for Painkiller.
Not to mention...Love Zone and I'm A Rocker blows away anything "Winger" has ever done.
So what the fuck are you trying to prove here.....??? Nothing is the answer. You thought you were cute for posting a shit band and shit album in the classic heavy metal thread and you got slapped in the puffer for it!
I am a "guardian" of classic traditional heavy metal done the traditional way by the masters of this art. Who the fuck are YOU for questioning "MY knowlege" within the realm of heavy metal or metal in general anyways you Winger loving
unmetal supporting glam nostalgic retro trend poser!!!?? What the fuck don't you understand about not posting a non-classic heavy metal band in this thread? Are you fucking retarted? Fuck.
Its not "rocket science" guy....get a fucking clue.

While there is no doubt that Winger's debut is pop metal to the maximum, it's really not that bad. It’s actually quite enjoyable. Winger featured four stellar musicians, especially RebBeach. Nobody can deny that Reb was one of the best guitar players of the 1980’s. That guy had tons of talent.

RUNNING WILD MASQUERADE 1995
This is Running Wild's best album out of the band's 13 studio album career.
The album is very new wave of british heavy metal orienated and is Germany's answer for Judas Priest Iron Maiden and Saxon with having these 3 band's influences leaking throughout the album but maintaining the band's original style here as well,a perfect blend the way it should be.Not a "rip off" in any way here.....
There are 11 songs on the album and it starts off with an intro
1. The Contract/The Crypts Of Hades
2. Masquerade
3. Demonized
4. Black Soul
5. Lions Of The Sea
6.Rebel At Heart-The only lame track on the album
7. Wheel Of Doom
8. Metalhead
9. Soleil Royel
10.Men In Black
11.Underworld
A great heavy metal album done the traditional way with only 1 bad song out of 11.....this is a perfect example of heavy metal done the right way and all "10" songs are excellent in each of thier own way....its very rewarding listening to these 10 songs all the way through........
Rolf Kasperek's vocals are awsome and could remind at some times maybe like X-Iron Maiden vocalist "Paul Di Anno" if I had to describe.
Definately for fans of all 3 bands "Judas Priest,Saxon and Iron Maiden".
If you are a fan of all 3 bands...definately check this record out....

KING DIAMOND "THE PUPPET MASTER" 2003
There are 12 King Diamond studio albums....I like 3 of them....Fatal Portrait,Voodoo and 2003's "The Puppet Master".
This album is like watching a morbid dark play from the 18th century!! This is a heavy metal album sprinkled with some gothic "opera" done the right way!!!!
I don't like that many King Diamond records, but this one is a MUST have for heavy metal fans!!!

I thought Brave New World was very good for a sort of comeback album. A few duds but it's overall very good to me. And did you ever notice that the riff at the end of Wickerman, the Wooo Ohhh Ohh oh part, is EXACTLY the same fucking riff as the galloping chorus riff in Out of the Silent Planet? It's just played faster.
I also liked A Matter of Life and Death as well. The Legacy is my favorite song off it.

Regarding "A Matter of Life and Death", I haven't heard it yet, and it'll take me some time to get to it, what with the chest of NWOBHM I still have to dig up and other priorities. Shamefully, or not, I only know one Maiden album by heart and that's "Piece of Mind"... I love Iron Maiden every once in a while, couldn't listen to them everyday.
It is something I have to work on, so: any suggestions to discover Maiden?

I thought Brave New World was very good for a sort of comeback album. A few duds but it's overall very good to me. And did you ever notice that the riff at the end of Wickerman, the Wooo Ohhh Ohh oh part, is EXACTLY the same fucking riff as the galloping chorus riff in Out of the Silent Planet? It's just played faster.
I also liked A Matter of Life and Death as well. The Legacy is my favorite song off it. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Wednesday, May 06, 2009 5:56:53 PM)

Perhaps someday I'll have to blow the dust off of that travesty of a Maiden CD and give 'er another go. I'll let you know if I lighten up a bit about it. In the meantime, give me Nostra ANY day. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Head banger from Wednesday, May 06, 2009 3:12:15 PM)

This album was a train-wreck, IMO, and Maiden themselves seemed puzzled in many an interview as to why the Amercians never got behind it. Their tour with it was a disaster thus bringing about the Back in Time tour to try to recoup what they lost with that miserable tour.
I am willing to accept that I didn't give it much of a chance. Suffered through it twice and put it on the shelf never to be heard again. To me, Nostra was 1000x better.

Well its not Maiden's best work obviously, BUT THIS ALBUM BLOWS AWAY EVERY IRON MAIDEN ALBUM AFTER POWERSLAVE giudo! This is the best they have since Powerslave.
Brave New World,Dance Of Death are nowhere near as good as this record, let alone anything before Brave New World back tracking to Powerslave.
And in my opinion it is way better than Nostradamus by far. All of our opinions differ thats for sure, you and Head Banger both love the "Turbo" album as I hate it with a passion.....just goes to show! lol!
The opening track "Different World" sucks big time and so does track number 7 "Benjamin Bragg"...but the other 8 songs are classic Maiden...
These Colours Don't Run6:52 Brighter Than A Thousand Suns 8:44 The Pilgrim 5:07 The Longest Day 7:48 Out Of The Shadows 5:36 For The Greater Good Of God 9:24 Lord Of Ligh t 7:23 The Legacy 9:20
Some of these tracks may be long, but the album with these 8 tracks is under an hour...(without the 2 songs that suck on it)
These 8 tracks to me are great Iron Maiden songs and crush Nostradamus no contest. Nostradamus is almost 2 hours long and 10 times boring to me.
No worries guido! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Wednesday, May 06, 2009 11:29:26 AM)

Good sir, thou hath by many a point exceeded the permitted amount of insuccess tolerated by the solemn forces of the internet.
If thou would be so kind as to remove thyself from our presence, such a gesture would be deeply appreciated.
Keep this - of all threads, spare this one! - free from any squalor and cock fights.
Ha,better than what you would would of done...you probably would of went home "with" the christian booklets and threw away all your metal CDs and dry humped your crucifix.

Yeah Head Banger I'm with ya,...these bible thumpers outside of the Moore Theatre were "scared" for our "souls" as I remember, there were a number of them as well...telling us we were all going to go to hell for attending King Diamond's show as we stood in line....(lol!)..there were alot of us wearing pentagrams, inverted crosses, black leather jackets...bullet belts.....smoking joints and screaming "hail satan" to these bible bashers man,(lol!)
It was pretty funny because they all stood there without a smile and were pelted by the same booklets they gave us... waded up and thrown at them...lol! Pretty funny stuff that was!!!!
