Agree with this HRMG. Hellrider is a true hardcore Priest fan, who just happens to not like Nostradamus. Some of us don't like Turbo, some aren't keen on Point Of Entry, but one thing we all have in common - we love the mighty metal monster that is Judas Priest!!!!

I second that Spa! Hellrider is a great guy and a huge fan of Priest. He, like a lot of other fans, just don't happen to like Nostradamus. He prefers the hardcore side of Priest. I have to admit, I'm really craving a kick ass METAL MONSTER album from the Priest next time around myself! I want to see them pound Iron Maiden and put that battle to rest FOREVER!! But I do love Nostradamus as well. I really think musically, they outdid themselves on that album. But for some it isn't metal enough. It's all a matter of opinion.

Painkiller is an outstanding album, especially when you consider how weak, relatively speaking, its predecessor was, but even on Painkiller there are a variety of sounds. Freewheelin Burning is as good an opener on a Priest album that you will ever find, but if the whole album sounded like that, Freewheel Burning wouldn't be nearly as explosive as it is and DOF wouldn't be as great as it is.
Thanks for the piece from Nostradamus, Hellrider, as soon as it ended, I wanted to hear the song that came after it - that's the. sign of a great album. Edited at: Thursday, April 08, 2010 7:08:01 PM Edited at: Thursday, April 08, 2010 7:08:53 PM

Well, seems I engaged the wrong poster
Thanks for the welcome everyone - it is all about opinion isn't it? I mean if we didn't have different ones, there would be no point in having a forum.
Judas Priest has gone through so many musical transformations that I am just not sure which the hardcore era is - Is that SFV and Painkiller? British Steel and Hell Bent for Leather? Stained Class ? I like it all, although I rarely turn to Turbo or Ram It Down, but they are all so different. I love good smokin heavy metal, but that comes in many forms.

first of all i hope i did not offend you with my post but i LOVE PRIEST and HALFORD THE METAL GOD way to much to just keep my mouth shut and dont give a fuc? what comes next from them.second you got me all wrong.i love the majority of all the PRIEST ALBUMS but the MIGHTY PAAAAAAAAAAAINKILLLLLLLLLLLLER does the most for me it also defines heavy metal in my opinion in every way.the majority of nostradamus IS EXACTLY THE THING THAT IS KILLING METAL IN MY OPINION .I AM JUST TRYING TO KEEP THE METAL ALIVE I LOVE IT SO MUCH.IT IS MY FUEL FOR LIFE. I should not have named Hellrider in my post - my apologies, Hellrider. Obviously we differ on the subtler aspects of what the Priest can and should offer, but nothing that a discussion over a drink or two wouldn't sort out, I am sure.
Judas Priest and soft rock do not roll off the tongue, but when they do take on moodier pieces I think JP have done very well
If I ever get into the realm of frequent posters and onto those other threads, I look forward to talking with Hellrider . Edited at: Thursday, April 08, 2010 8:48:07 PM

Agree, Jim is an awesome dude and is a hardcore Priest fan, which is awesome as in my book! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Thursday, April 08, 2010 7:33:36 PM)

OTH, hellrider is one of the nicest people you ever want to meet, and while he does love that song he loves all of Priest. Try talking to him someday, he's a great individual!

I take it Hellrider is a poster like the one I described. He got on the bus with Painkiller and thinks that is all the band is about. Shame
