I agree, that is the stupidest thing I have ever read or heard in my life. What are you thinking bringing back Dave Holland? Scott is the best drummer Priest ever had.  Scott has been with the band for 20 years now, I think he is a permanent member.........

The article just says 'a Spokesman tells rock AAA', then the quote, then an older quote from KK. It implies that KK said that but he didn't, so who is this 'spokesman'?

No offense but this is one of the stupidest thing I've ever read on this forum. Scott is one of the best things that happened to Priest. The thing is Rob has a good way of tip toeing round things. He still hasn't said the band is splitting up. He never gives a definite answer like 'yes the band are splitting and there will be no more music or touring'. 'All good things come to an end' but this is still a miscellaneous response, he could simply be talking about touring, who knows. I do now question the validity of that article on Rock AAA though.

Agreed. Nice to have a point-of-view from someone who knows Rob and his demeanor as well.

Well, I have to agree with you on that. Rob was extremely professional as always and put on a hell of a show Tuesday. But I could see it in his performance because I know how he is on stage - he was not the same as in Cleveland two days earlier when he was talking to the crowd a lot. No one else at the show Tuesday would have ever picked up on it, but he was not himself. When he looked over at me and my husband in the front row screaming our heads off in support and seeing our Halford banner, he was genuinely thankful. It was a hard show for him in the beginning, I could tell he was down. But he won the crowd over and he came back to being himself. I'm sure he had no idea what he was walking in to in that arena, anything could have happened. I'm just so glad we were there and that my home town gave him such a great reaction. This was not Rob's doing, I can tell you that much! He is not a man that is ready to retire, not now anyway. I think it was really shitty of the announcement to happen when he is touring, especially the day of a performance!

I do find it interesting that the announcement came out in the midde of Rob's 'Halford' project touring.
[And NO - I am NOT accusing him or JP mgmt of anything ... this is just an observation.]
Not that it will hurt his draw or anything ... just interesting timing (as I continue to sit here pondering this whole ordeal).
(Kind of reminds me of when Mike Holmgren announced he was leaving Green Bay for Seattle ... WHILE the Packers were still playing and still had play-off hopes)
It's allllllllllllllllllllllll about the delivery ...
[MetalPixie] Thursday, December 09, 2010 9:58:06 PM
Ok K2M ...
why should they "get rid of Scott"?
(I feel slightly baited on this ... but I'm in that kinda mood)

M'kay. Not quite what I had in mind. Should have known to to phrase it that way!

Half a loaf is ideal to a person starving and wandering in the desert!  Draw what conclusions you may from that.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Head banger from Thursday, December 09, 2010 9:07:39 PM)

That would be kinda shitty...make albums but not tour...if they are for reals then make one more album and tour then call it quits.

It won't be never a farewell. It's always a welcome. Since I knew about this bad new 'm listening all Priest albums, saw video, saw on You Tube and so on. Furthermore i'm a fucking optimist so I foreseen a new album in 2012: I'm right Hellrider ????
[K2M] Thursday, December 09, 2010 2:57:54 PM
get rid of scott
[Painkiller87] Thursday, December 09, 2010 1:17:19 PM
HAAA!! At least Priest would have some dignity left to do such tours! But somewhere down the line they need to tour, all they need is some rest.

Maybe they'll pull a KISS and have 6-7 farewell tours. Rob and Priest have much more energy left in them. A couple more albums, please! I don't care if they tour after the next one but I need some JP.
[Head banger] Thursday, December 09, 2010 11:18:09 AM
That would work for me.  an album gives hundreds of hours, a concert just a few.
