Probably not a band most here will like but I think they're pretty heavy. I'm not the biggest fan of "growling" but I do
like some of it. These guys are on "Mayhem" tour this year. The headliners are Disturbed, Godsmack and Megadeth. I
can't wait. It should be kick ass!!!

They are all usually great until they sing. And then who care about what the fuck.

I think the operative words there were "very old school" You got that right. From the album cover art to the sound, it would have fit right in on the Heavy Metal Soundtrack.
Dated like April Wine. I still like a few April Wine songs, but I don't think I could sit through the whole albums anymore. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Monday, January 10, 2011 4:32:07 PM)

These guys are real cool. The Sword, from Texas. Very old school. This album is one of the best of 2010 in my opinion. Warp Riders is their third album I think, this is the title track from it. What do you guys think?

Now this is a good idea for a new thread. I can't wait to see what kind of bands pop up here.
The first was pretty decent. I can listen to that. I hope this thread takes off. Peace!

That guitar riff is sick man. The vox is starting to grow on me too. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Saturday, January 08, 2011 4:38:37 PM)

Yeah, of course you can. You can get the cd from about $8 US.

Wow! The music was excellent! Though it would take me some time to puzzle the lyrics, I loved the sound! Can I buy it on Amazon?

Check this out Spapad. Amorphis. Quite progressive but a lot of old school in there. They are from Finland. Awesome band.

Now that is cool! The singer is good, bar the occasional gutteral stuff he does (I'm not much of a fan of that) but overall excellent song! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Saturday, January 08, 2011 6:50:47 PM)

I really like the music in that song too, but yeah not so hot with the vocals. But cool all the same! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Saturday, January 08, 2011 4:38:37 PM)

Hahaha. Whenever you buy something on itunes or amazon check out the other stuff it recommends, sometimes you will be pleasantly surprised. I will post in here regularly so you may like some of it.

This thread will need young blood. For me, I'm 46 and not all that into surfing the web for music. My daughter may give me a track to put here one day. lol

Yeah, me too. I wasn't too ecstatic about were the vocals either but it is awesome music. I created this thread to post some of the bands I have been listening to that are not so mainstream. Hopefully others will post in here too and it will put people onto some of the cool stuff that is out there. I am always keen to hear stuff I haven't heard before.

Nice! My only complaint would be that I hate when bands emerse the singer in the music. It's near impossible to puzzle out. Musically, I love it, but that one thing.
