The angst of growing up in 1980's--I'm the youngest of 4--have 3 older brothers who were into gospel & country -well I didn't want to be like them so I was depressed --mom had just died --went to a record store & saw an album cover with a razor blade on it --not that I woud ever do myself in but I related to it & have been a fan ever since. !!

It was the soundtrack to my life, really.  No, quit laughing.  Seriously.  I grew up eldest of four boys in a military family.  Dad and I agreed on one thing throughout my childhood years:  music.  My first experience with Priest was listening to Beyond the Realms of Death and I was hooked.  I went from there to the rest of Stained Class and then everything I could get my hands on.

As the years went by I became a bit frustrated with music, but never Priest.  Even whilst everyone I knew had something negative to say about Turbo and Ram It Down, I was just happy to hear them continue on.  My friends went on to this or that band but I stuck with Priest all the way.

Now I'm in my late thirties, my kids listen to Priest.  I'll be attending only my second ever Priest concert in August.  I couldn't be happier!

Why did I become a fan?  They hit that note humming deep inside, that place where inspiration meets aspiration; being meeting wanting.  I can't fully describe it but when I listen to Priest, I feel free...

Back when the radio stations in my area (near DC) played hard rock/metal, the music found me.  When I was 17, cruising in my 1970 GTO, I remember hearing Sabbath/Priest and I was hooked.  Halford's voice has no equal.

Loud Guitars, with the KILLER GUITAR TONE.

ROBS voice electrifies, and the lyrics he brings Dominate and Excite.

THE PRIEST SOUND HAS SOMETHING THAT YOU JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH.IT'S THE COMBINATION OF HALFORD'S VOICE AND THE TWO GUITARS PLAYING DELIRIOUSLY.ABSOLUTE MAGIC.HEAVY METAL OWNS WHAT IT IS TODAY TO THIS BAND.

Has been listening to Sabbath and Zep for years and thought I'd heard all metal had to offer me.

Then came the night I got invited out to a friends house for.....well lets just say we werent drinking cordial and eating lollypops. He put on Sad Wings at some stage and I was hooked immediately.

The VOICE: something that sent a shiver, but is there a little dry humour in the lyrics?

The GUITARS: sparse, hooky, but not too hard to play

The DRUMS: economic, punchy, far from the Bonzo bombast

The PRODUCTION: up close and personal, sounded like they were playing it live

The PACKAGE: made me scared and a bit depressed

After all the massive production seen on albums during the 70s, eg. Physical Grafitti, it was great to hear a grass-roots rock album.

I bought the record soon after and played it to death. Then Breaking the Law became a hit and I bought British Steel. Have bought and enjoyed pretty much every album since. And I love Nostradamus......

I love them too, very much. Could you please not write in Black on black anymore. Too hard to read.

I began my "rock listening career" with KISS. One of the greatest bands of all. It was 1977 and I my dad gave me a copy of Destroyer, 2 years later I'm at my first concert ever (15) Kiss was great! Then came the discovery of a lil' band called Judas Priest. I was never the same and my taste in music wasn't either! I've bought every offering this band has out and still can't get enough! They are truly my most favorite band with Kiss right behind them.

I had heard diffrent stuff from my older brothers, and liked rock & roll in general. Then I saw Kiss live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1983 and it was all over from there.
