Possible Australian Tour

[hellion1969 [Banned]] Friday, October 03, 2008 2:18:18 AM
The date was 10th of september and the priest was due on stage in about 2 hours! The time was approximately 7:45 pm! Bumped into old friends and started consuming massive quantitys of alcohol, (didn`t bother about support bands-THEY SUCK COMPARED TO PRIEST)! The time is now 9:00 pm and the bar has run out of beer,(With a half our before the show, this is disastrous)! But alas, Bundy and cola are still available, much to our delight! The time is now 9:29 as we scramble to our seats to the roar of the crowd we are ushered to the opening sounds of Dawn of creation/Prophecy! THE REST IS HISTORY.........!!!!!!!!! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Perth 16th September 2008.  THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!!!  I was right in the front row on the barrier, in the dead centre of the stage.  What an awesome performance.  The whole band was in fine form throughout the whole set!  They played the same full set list as on the rest of the tour.  Highlights for me were Eat Me Alive, Rock Hard Ride Free, Sinner and when Rob got wheeled out on that awesome throne for Messenger of Death I nearly died.  But then, in the middle of Green Manalishi, Glenn came right up the front of the stage, so I blew him a kiss, and GUESS WHAT!!!!  He blew one right back!!!!!  I got to shake his hand at the end of the gig too.  At the beginning of Between the Hammer and the Anvil the whole front row started doing this  in time to the music.  Priest kicks ass!!!!!!!!!

Rob said they have the day off today and are going shopping in the city, so it looks like I am off Priest hunting again today in my lunch break.  They HAVE to come back for the Nostradamus concert.  Anywhere in Australia is fine - just one gig and I will fly there to see it.  But this time I am getting a meet and greet ticket.

Thanks for a top night lads.  You really blew the roof off!!!!!!
[Rob  Halford88] Tuesday, September 16, 2008 6:37:23 PM
Yeah, that is a great tune, one of my all time favourites.

I do believe had priest of come at different time of year there would of been a sell out in melbourne, other than that the gig was excellent to the extreme.

[Painkiller's Horsey] Monday, September 15, 2008 7:52:18 AM
U sure hope they come again next time! I was suching a great performence! I saw them over in Melbourne and I managed to get to the barrier on K K Downing's side. The highlight for me was Rock Hard Ride Free I could help my scream andscream until my lungs went dry and even then I kept on yelling and scream
[tonesta67] Monday, September 15, 2008 5:47:13 AM
Sydney, September 12 2008, a night to remember. From opening with Dawn of Creation and Prophecy, to Eat Me Alive, Hell Patrol, Painkiller and plent of other classics, Rob totally rocked! The encore set including HB for L, Green Manalishi, the best version of Sinner EVER, ended in You've Got Another Thing Coming. Lads, Rock Hard, Ride Free back to Sydney soon, pleeaase?

[devils_child] Sunday, September 14, 2008 4:07:03 AM
Just back from Sydney... Priest blew me away for the second time. "what you say Sydney!!" fuck yeah! I love the fact that they played Devils Child, Green Manalishi and Dissident Aggressor never thought they'd play em live.
Anyone who has photos from either gig i'd love to see them, Myself am having a few problems with the computer but as soon as i can i have footage and photos from both shows to post.
[Helljam] Friday, September 12, 2008 5:37:24 PM
Any reviews from Sydney last night?? Got Melbourne tonight, don't forget, there is a meetup at the Corner Hotel in Richmond before the gig. See you all there. Rock Hard, Ride Free

Judas Priest Rule
[tha ancient metaller] Thursday, September 11, 2008 6:35:56 AM
Is there any way to post pics on this forum? I was right up the front at Brisbane, and Rob and KK were within a few feet of my camera phone, so I got some brilliant pics! I'm going to post them on the Metal Gods Quorum in the Priest Concert Review forum if anyone wants to check them out.

What an AWESOME night! I had a ball, my ears were ringing for hours afterwards, and my throat sore from screaming out the lyrics. I got a few comments about my 'HALFORD' T shirt, but unfortunately couldn't get in a spot where Rob could see it. It was the only one in the venue, that's for sure! .

Peace, Glen.
[jimmyjames] Thursday, September 11, 2008 1:09:21 AM
no idea what they played in brisbane but in vancouver they played Prophecy and Death off Nostradamus, Painkiller, Hell Patrol, Night Crawler and Between The Hammer and The Anvil from Painkiller, Eat Me Alive and Rock Hard Ride Free from Defenders, Electric Eye, Devils Child and You Got Another Thing Coming from Screaming, Breakin The Law and Metal Gods From Brit Steel, Green Manalishi And Hell Bent For Leather off Killing Machine and Dissident Aggressor and Sinner fron Sin After Sin. I think thats it plus some awesome solos from glenn, kk and scott. Hope you enjoy the show bro, it's gonna be awesome.
[Bottles] Thursday, September 11, 2008 12:55:58 AM

C'mon man, deliver the goods. What was the set?
I can't wait until tomorrow night, I wanna know what I'm in for.

[Michael Darko] Wednesday, September 10, 2008 8:12:36 PM

Well what an awesome show in Brissie last night! The guys were in terrific form and really seemed to enjoy themselves. And Rob... well some people may say his singing is not what it was but what a load of crap. He is nearly 60 but he still has the best voice ever and his singing was brilliant. He hit all the high notes and really gave it everything. Priest also played some songs I didn't expect and also played for nearly two hours (alot longer than advertised with Ticketek). All in all the best gig I have ever been to and I have now been to over 60 odd, including all the legendary bands...they are just that good. I really hope alot of people turn out to their remaining Aussie shows and lets get them back again (with a decent promoter next time).

Judas Fucking Priest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[devils_child] Wednesday, September 10, 2008 6:17:17 PM

Priest is comming to blow you away Sydney!! the Brisbane gig was absolutely f*&^ing amazing!!!!!! They played so many songs i never expected to hear live, i wont mention what songs of course. My brother and I were on the front barrier smack bang in the middle. For those of you who saw the handcuffs go up on stage towards the end of the gig.. yes they were mine and yes my brother threw them up there! So damn wicked!! We got plenty of attention from Ian Hill probably because we kept screaming out his name .. gotta love it.

[manalishi1975] Tuesday, September 09, 2008 8:53:56 PM

Hello all Priest fans in QLD!!!! We all expect posts from you about tonight's concert.  I hope you all have a blast and rock hard ride free.  I am thinking of you all enviously.

Ah well - 6 sleeps to go til Perth Priest Fiest.  AWESOME!!!!!!

[QHeadQ] Tuesday, September 09, 2008 7:22:35 PM
Hey guys,

I was all lined up for the Gig on Friday in Sydney at ACER Arena.............I was totally pumped for it.
Now I am not going to be able to make it and I am severely pissed off.

That said I have 2 tickets for the front section standing (where you can get right up to the stage) on offer.

Not sure if this is cool or not on this site so apologies if I'm not supposed to offer tickets here.

Anyone interested?? Let me know

Not happy, but what can you do............................

JUDAS IS RISING!!! Today is the day for those in Brisbane - time to start the pre-gig warm up. Got Judas Priest cranked on the stereo, gonna go get some more beer soon, all the family is comming together for this one. Am very proud to be a second generation fan, i hope there's more at the concert - i'm starting to think there are no other fans in Brisbane around my age, exept my brother. It is our duty to carry the flame!   "Caaaalllll for the Priest im dyyyyyyyin'!!!"

Well folks the first gig of the Aussie tour is almost here. Can't wait to hear the lads in Brissie tomorrow and I know they will raise the roof. I hope a good sized crowd turns up with the whole promoter and ticket fiasco now behind us!

Have been excited for this gig since the tickets went on sale many months ago and I know it will be awesome.

Currently having a beer and cheers to the Metal Gods.
[devils_child] Sunday, September 07, 2008 5:33:12 AM

Hey my mums down at Surfers Paradise... if she sees Priest i'll hear about it ... have her shackle them to the nearest object and i'll be down there taking photos... i'm a psycho i know  ......... I would die if i got to see / meet Priest.... i am praying to the metal gods as we speak....

[tha ancient metaller] Sunday, September 07, 2008 5:18:58 AM
Never heard of those support acts. When the tour was first announced I tried to get the support gig for Alchemist, what a blast that would have been! I got Roy from Alchemist to send copies of Austral Alien and Organasm to Jayne, but I guess it never got any further, Alchemist is supporting Meshuggah in a couple of weeks in Brisbane anyway, so I'll get to see them then.

For anyone who doesn't know Australia's top 'serious' metal band, try...

www.alchemist.com.au

They'll quite literally blow you away!

Peace, Glen.

I hope somebody can suggest to the band that they close the main set with "Steeler". I know i'll love whatever they play, but walking off after that mad riffing would have the crowd raising the roof for an encore! Plus, i just wanna fuckin' hear it!
[gingefly] Thursday, September 04, 2008 2:40:55 AM
Roll on Priest! Flying over from New Zealand and cant f*cking wait to see them live! Can you take small digital cameras into the Brisbane venue?? Caught Maiden in Melbourne and they were ok with cameras... Dont wont the hassle of getting to the door and being told to get rid of it!

hi guys, can't wait to finally see and hear Rob in the flesh with the rest of the band, the way it was supposed to be! I had tickets this year for Gods of Metal in Milan but couldn't go, bought tix through Showbiz (at $190.00 each ****in stupid!  should have bought VIP tix - got a bit too excited when my email came from showbiz) for Sydney, just bought tix up the back (bit slow gettting the cash ready) at Melbourne!  (when Ripper came i had front row tix at the enmore- missed that but luckily bought tix at the door in melbourne!) just as long you play and keep playing (whatever you play will be f***in awesome...though rapid fire and hotrockin would make me really happy. thanks for the opportunity to message! If no CC then maybe Heaven & Hell?

You gotta love the technological age! Just created a new playlist to match the "assumed" setlist for the Aussie tour. Hubby has gone out for the evening so I plugged my iPod into the stereo and am headbanging out to JP!!!! Sure makes doing the washing up more difficult I keep dipping my hair in the sink!!!!

Ah well - only 16 days to go until the lads are here and I am off to headbang for real in Perth. Life is great!!!
[manalishi1975] Saturday, August 30, 2008 3:57:45 AM
Got my Tickets a couple of weeks ago for the Perth gig. And I am so happy they moved the concert to Challenge Stadium!!! It sold out so fast and I see tickets are still available for the other shows. Hey guys,

Are any of you from Western Australia and planning on going to the Perth gig? I'm a student journalist writing for the 3rd Degree - http://3degree.ecu.edu.au - and I'm writing an article on Priest's upcoming visit to Perth.  I would really appreciate it if I could get some insight into the gig from a fan's perspective, and it's your chance to get your quotes published...
Please guys, all I need is a few people to tell me what they expect from the gig/ if they have seen them before etc. Even if you're not from Perth it's ok.

Thanks so much, Claire.

FFS.  first of all, the NZ concert is canceled.  good job keeping up on that one.
I saw CC at Monsters of rock the MC was more inflametory than they were.  hell ozzys intro vid was more inflametory.  probably some kind of conflicts between the 2 I supose.

Huh-huh...
Exactly 1 month ago there was a trucker strike in New Zealand.

On July 28th there was a 2 week strike planned for Australia.

So, I think, bullshit aside, that tours are being cancelled because of that. Therefore what was said about logistics being the reason Priest got cancelled in New Zealand may be about right.
By the way, I'm in the USA and news, even on the web, about NZ are hard to come by - updated news, that is.
Thank the scientology gods for the internet.

Just read this on Blabbermouth........

"CAVALERA CONSPIRACY has been deemed an 'inappropriate' band to perform with JUDAS PRIEST on their Priest Feast 2008 tour dates in Australia and New Zealand, and have thusly been forced to cancel their appearance at the previously announced tour dates in the southern Pacific.

"Although CAVALERA CONSPIRACY (featuring Max and Iggor of the legendary SEPULTURA) had several amazing and successful dates with their brothers in PRIEST throughout Eastern Europe, apparently the band has been deemed too inflammatory to open for Priest in Australia and NZ.

"So, with that said, this post is an apology to the fans in the Australia and New Zealand for the cancellations.

"The Cavalera brothers will be back soon (hopefully with a more reasonably priced tour...)!"

Yes I'm pumped too - got my ticket to the Melbourne gig.

Just one thing though. I hope they take into account that we've had bugger-all chance of seeing them before. Therefore the setlist should be a good retrospective of all the eras.

As much as I love Nostradamus I would also dearly like to hear all the classics, from The Ripper to Livin' After Midnight.
