I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY PLAY LIVE. I WILL ENJOY THE SHOW JUST BECAUSE PRIEST IS THE GREATEST BAND AROUND AND PUT ON A SPECTACULAR SHOW.
I JUST WISH THE SET LIST WOULD CHANGE MORE YEAR AFTER YEAR. IF ON THE NEXT TOUR THEY PLAYED NOTHING THAT THEY PLAYED THIS TIME AROUND I WOULD LOVE IT. MAYBE IT'S HARD ON THEM TO RE-LEARN SONGS THEY HAVEN'T PLAYED IN YEARS. I DON'T KNOW IM NOT A MUSICIAN. I'D LOVE IT IF THEY PLAYED:

DECEIVER
LAST ROSE OF SUMMER
HEROS END
BURNIN UP
FEVER
NIGHT COMES DOWN

MAYBE DO A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT SET EVERY NIGHT.
BUT AS LONG AS THE PRIEST IS ON STAGE MAKING MUSIC. LIFE IS GOOD.
I LIKE THE DIVERSITY IN THE NEW ALBUM. TO ME THAT IS ONE OF THE ELEMENTS THAT MAKE THEM GREAT. I WOULDN'T WANT THEM TO BE LIKE AC/DC OR DEF LEPPARD WHERE EVERY SONG IS A CLONE OF THE ONE BEFORE IT. (AT LEAST SINCE BON SCOTT DIED IN AC/DC'S CASE)

I think at this point in the history of JP, the fans want to listen the older material, though Nostradamus is a good album that surprised me in a good way, expecting the sun to be setting on JP while a wall of clouds obscured the bright colors of the sky, so to speak. In other words, JP mellowing out. Though it's true, they mellowed for Nostradamus, they succeeded in regaining my attention because Nostradamus has little sparks of light here and there and Halford's voice is golden.
I don't think Nostradamus is the reason why I go see JP play at this point in time, though the album has its great moments. I go for the kickass songs that have made Priest the UBER REICH in metaldom. |

| They only do one song from Nostradamus this time around --it's hard to play more when they only have 90 minutes to play because Nostradamus has some extremely long songs--maybe when they tour with just 1 opening act |

At this stage of the game, I think Priest are just trying to capitalize on summer concert attendees and making it an attractive enough package to help bolster the numbers. Priest have made it known long before the tour began that they would be infusing songs from their catalogue that hadn't been played in a very long time (if at all), as well as a 'few' new numbers from "NOSTRADAMUS" ....which is probably why there have only been 2 or 3 songs from it in their sets thus far.
Another interesting tidbit of info I came across featured a quip from KK Downing, who stated that they'd learned from some time ago that infusing too much of a new album right off the bat tends to lose fans' attention spans...after all...a band as seasoned as Priest knows by now that just because 2 or 3 months have gone by, not EVERY Priest fan in attendance at any one of their shows necessarily HAS the new album that's out at that time (I mean, here it is...better than a month after "NOSTRADAMUS' " release..and I STILL don't have it). Now...magazine interviews are done a considerable amount of time before the magazine actually hits the store shelves...so, since that quip was made, I'm sure Priest have reached a viable enough solution, as the consensus now is that the entirety of "NOSTRADAMUS" will be played, but just later into the tour once this summer package with "METAL MASTERS" is said and done. By that time, more fans will know how the album sounds and will know even more about it and will be more prepared (perhaps) to absorb the entirety of it in a live environment. But..we all know this...minds can change...whether or not Priest will have a change of mind about doing the entirety of "NOSTRADAMUS" is something only time will tell. Given the risks Priest are renowned for taking though, I'm pretty sure that if they still have it in mind to do the whole monty, then they will....I know they're very proud of what they've done this time around, and I think they owe it to themselves to show EVERYONE who'll attend that they ARE just that.

Hi Alexander,
for a band like Priest with so many material
it's must to be difficult to create a setlist
everybody like it. That's the same problem
for every tour. I believe Priest is trying out
how Nostradamus songs to indegrate in the setlist
and to refer to the older songs to be suitable.
Damn, sometimes it's so hard for me to find the
correct english. I hope you can unterstand me.

Dare I ask, is this tour helping to hype fans for Nostradamus tour? I'm still scratching my head when I read the standard 2008 setlist, to find only Prophecy and Death in the setlist. Is this enough to make casual rock / metal fans want to see them live next year when they play the album in its entirety? Personally, I know I am going to feel a bit disappointed by lack of new songs on this Priest Feast tour when I see them in Toronto and Sydney. I know this is not the Nostradamus, but I'm sure many other fans on this board share the same opinion as I do that they are yearning to hear some more new songs. Sliding in at least another solid rocker like Revelations, Persecution or Nostradamus would go a long way.
