Some of the bands involved in the grunge era were awesome, Nirvana were a little over-rated in my opinion, only because I reckon they are guilty of releasing 1/2 albums. ie. 6 great songs and 25 minutes of out of tune distortion and general shit. Check out Pearl Jams first 3 albums, Alice In Chains first 2 albums and Soundgardens first 2. Great stuff which still sounds good today. There was a lot of other good stuff out around that time too if you look around a bit. |

Anything by Nirvana. I will never understand why Kurt Cobain was hailed as such a musical genius by the media. Of course, I'll never understand how or why grunge music became so popular, either (even if for just a short time). |

I've always despised Mama Said by Metallica, those guys had their heads so far up their asses when they brought that embarrassment out. At the time the reigning kings of metal decide to try to prove to everyone what a diverse range of influences shape their music and bring out a down home redneck country style ballad, so full of phony sentimentality it would make even Eddie Vedder cringe. To me this song was the low point of Metallicas career, then St Anger came out and they sunk even further into the mire.
C'mon guys lets revive this thread, it's always been a funny one. |

Hey Jaime
Now just a minute--I am a proud owner of Hinder, Creed & Nickelback ( please don't hate me !! )
I on the other hand have quite a cd collection--mostly heavy metal
But I do agree with you when the top so & so lists come out --those songs are hardly ever played--I have a radio station in PA where at the end of the year they have a top 100 that's played on New Year's Eve into New Years' Day--where you have to call /email the radio station & tell them your favorite songs---for 12 years & I'm not kidding the # 1 song was "Color My World "--I think Chicago did it --I may be wrong ---Who would've thought it ? !!--You would think they'd vote for a song of that year not 1 from the 70's [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:07:59 AM) | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Lips Of An Angel - Hinder.

Theses are three of the worst songs ever in my book, by three of the worst bands ever, manufactured middle of the road hard rock for people who don't listen to music, generally people who are into this sort of shit are the kind of people who buy a cd and only listen to the one song off it. They always have terrible cd collections. The way they get into it is by either driving around or sitting at their desk with some mindless commercial radio station playing in the background, not even aware that they are being brainwashed. We got one of these stations in NZ, its called THE ROCK and they play crap like this all day. Once a year they have a rock top 500 where listeners email in their votes for their favourite songs and then they play them all 500 down to 1, the top 20 is always the same, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, AC/DC and Metallica. Obviously then, that is what the listeners really like, so why don't they play that all the time instead of these wankers? |

what a shame! I'm not a fan of Queen but I've heared
Queen since more than two decades.
Songs like "The invisible men", "Innuendo" and
"Break through" are awesome.
